  • This week at Dressage Hub we have gone to the far corners of the earth to find the awkward moments in dressage that you love to watch!
First, we take a look at a dressage fail from Australia with Elizabeth Owens and Starlite in which she starts her Grand Prix dressage freestyle, in a snaffle bridle I might add, and things go downhill quickly.
Second, we head over to Rotterdam for the ultimate hold my beer moment with Nicolas Wagner and Quater Back Junior. While this test comes clothes to becoming a dressage disaster we put it under the dressage fail section because it was one quick moment in time and things all went downhill from there leading to elimination in the Grand Prix dressage test.

I love it when horses say "nope."

The amount of leg used, excessive kicking and pulling on the reins in the first video was hard to watch

If these people would just stop forcing their horses through every fear and stop keeping them in such a state of pain and arousal during all of their training and performance, the horses would be able to recover from moments like this, and would actually enjoy what they’re doing, I hate these competitions. I don’t know how anyone can look at these horses and think that they’re happy or that the riders care about them more than a medal. Being fed and groomed does not make a horse well cared for.

@@helloitsbella8161 I've been wondering how people can consider this beautiful or a good thing for a good decade. Since I looked into the rabbit hole of the abuse most riders do (both hobby and "elite" riders do this) then I haven't been able to see any horse "sport" the same way again. It's really telling that footage from the warm up areas are either non-existant or hard to find. I heard of more and more competitions, in the past, barring recordings of the warm areas and one doesn't have to wonder for very long to find out why.

The first one is realy hard to watch. She is constantly pulling the rains and is sitting very tensed, which is making it very hard for the horse to move forward. Therefore her usage of the spurs ist just unfair. The horse ist allready trying to make everything right, but her cues Just don't make sence at all.

I agree, she should’ve been eliminated (was she?) and given a warning or something like that. Just horrible. What is she even doing? Just give him some time or at least don’t give him opposite cues..

Looking at the mouth makes me worried too. Seems like she had a death grip on the mouth and that the noseband was super tight.

Those are the typical "riding school thump" kicks. It pains me to see riders having the same beginner bad habits for years on end.
No horse goes forward just because you kick harder. They do so if you work out the problem. This is riding 101 stuff.

Riders cues come after the horses movements, delayed.

Every dressage rider insists Spurs are used only for subtle refined cues. I so wish that were true.

If I may express criticism, I would advise you to edit the videos either without music at all or if so, then only very quietly in the background.
I would have liked EVERY video if almost EVERY video hadn't been accompanied by such loud music.
I'm used to watching your videos and that's why UA-cam keeps recommending your videos to me, but that's the only reason I haven't suscribed to your channel yet.
Please don't take it as some kind of attack or hate, because it definitely isn't! 🙏❤️
It is supposed to be intended to make your videos a little more user-friendly.
To be honest, the loud music sometimes put me off.😬
I would have loved to hear the reporter's original comments on many of your videos.🗣️📣
And I can imagine I'm not the only one.
Otherwise, I like your videos very much, precisely because they don't just show the perfect thing, but also the things that go wrong even in dressage at the Olympic level.
They make it clear that horses are still living beings and not any find of sports equipment.
    Thanks for that.

I like your compilations, but I end up muting the music as well. It clashes with the audio in the original videos sometimes. Maybe it can be turned down a little? Or the audio in the originals removed? Just gets a bit noisy!

    • @e.conboy4286

@@DressageHub If that noise is costing your win, perhaps you’d be wise to start a ‘Go Fund Me’. Sadly, your horse is clearly disturbed by that racket! Don’t you realize that?

    • @e.conboy4286
      @e.conboy4286 3 роки тому

@@animallover4101 Yes that’s true. Music. Not this horrible noise. Take it from the horse’s mouth. This racket threw the horse off, perhaps it was the ‘volume’. I doubt it. But your sarcastic response indicates your serious lack of concern. Back to the Crier’s Corner for your team, you let the horse down. They enjoy winning.
