One of the new truck trails at Sabine River Rats now connects the pipeline past Johnny's Washout, through Squirrel Camp and back around across the slough on the main road. These are just a few clips from our trail ride on Day 2 of the Sabine River Rats Good Friday ride.

i've watched this river rat ride so many years now, i could probably go and find my way around and i live 1600 miles away lol.. good stuff as always man, you guy's must have had alot of rain, couple spots real wet this year

Great video guys its more than just a little refreshing to see trucks that actually look like they should, it seems today you look at anything on utube with a diesel in it and its so "CUTE" with pretty little barbie tires and it can smoke like its on fire (it should be) and spin its tires in the grass OMG they might have to get it DETAILED again? I have words I can use here for that idiocy! I have a new truck I just got and have not had it in the mud yet, its a M977 HEMTT its an 8 wheel drive cargo truck with a grove crane on rear of the truck for loading cargo onto the bed, its got a turbo/supercharged 2 stroke 8V92 Detroit rated at 500 HP, the truck is 36 ft long and weighs 40,000 pounds, Its got a 60,000 pound winch but I need a BIG tree to say the least. Give me a trail I can fit down and I think the truck stands a good chance on making it through! Keep the vids coming guys great to watch!

Whats under the hood of that newer white chevy? Im assuming a duramax but what gives it that funky sound at higher rpms? Supercharger?

Ernie Stanger actually that screaming high pitched wine is the rear end or t case. Some vehicles just make that noise especially if the t case is gear driven

I've always wondered how these guys keep gas in these beasts when they are out on what seems to be here a trail ride through the woods I figure they get one mile to the gallon maybe but damn Ido I love hearing them scream
Jerk I mean even if they only get 1 mile per gallon (I'm sure it's not near that bad) they probobly have 20-30 gallon tanks

Ive noticed on quite a few videos like these,somehow the jeeps seem to out do any other off road vehicle regarding to this kind of sport.

why does that white gmc or chevy have such a wierd motor sound? i know its a diesel i can hear the turbo spooling up but has kinda like an electronic motor sound to it as well
C1iffBurton gearbox, different types of gear ( straight , at angle or hypoid) the more angle the toots have, the less noises they make.
Yes, what historicbeef said....It's a diesel, but its the transfer case you're hearing at higher speeds

How much is a power train set up like this cost?
APECK618 depends on the motor. Like mine it's a built supercharged bbf 460 with ratchet shift with 4 speed transmission. But most are 350 Chevy motor or BBC Chevy.

Preference I guess. Skinnier wheels are able to cut down to the solid ground better too and get more traction. Easier to spin and less weight.

Simple really Chevy is popular, lighter, and cheaper to build in most cases. Nothing wrong with a Cummins. I've seen plenty of diesel mud trucks in videos though.
