Thanks for the video. I had knocked the filter off of ours and didn't know where to put it. We have had this pot for almost a year, still going strong and I love it. Perhaps 2 years down the road from this review they were making them better?

+Lindy Weber, I don't think anyone ever makes anything better down the road. Cheaper is more likely. Here's an explanation for placing the filter:
Notice that the curve of the top of the filter goes toward the tip of
the spout.The point of the filter goes down. The point has a notch;
guide that notch over the projection on the front inside. Notice the two
projections on the sides at the top of the filter with a slot; those
slots do not slide over anything. The purpose of the slots is to allow a
little give as you force them into the recessions on both sides at the
top of the kettle. Once you get it fitted into both of those recessions
in the kettle it will lock into place firmly.

I've been using this one for about 6 months now so I can't say anything against that. Personally though if I were in your situation I would think of it as I was paying .80¢ a month to use it... Still super cheap and a great deal from my viewpoint.

Had that same kettle at work worked great for my french press coffee just the right amount of water I quit that job though didn't need that kettle any more so I gave it to my friend

I accidentally knocked mine off while drying the inside. I googled proctor silex electric kettle and a video came up showing the inside of the kettle. I was able to figure out where the filter went. I've had this pot for a couple of years. I take it with me when I travel. I love it. After it starts boiling, it shuts itself off. If anything happened to it, I would get another one.

have it..love it but sadly it no longer works..when you flip the switch it does not come on.. would love to find a repair video. I am afraid to buy another of the same in case it goes bad...any repair advise is welcome

We have or should I say had this Kettle. It caught on fire last night where the cord meets the kettle. Fortunately my wife was in the kitchen at the time and was able to unplug it or our cabinet's and kitchen would have gone up in flames. Usually we plug it in and leave the kitchen to get ready for work. Luckily she was there. THIS KETTLE IS A FIRE HAZARD STAY AWAY!!

Ours became a fire and a shock hazard. The power cord failed leaving exposed wire at the point where it enters the kettle. Watch for discoloration in the wire.

the filter is totally useless, it keeps falling into the kettle and is a terrific struggle to get it back on so I use the kettle without it. would not buy another one.

I bought exactly the same kettle 15 months ago and it doesn't work anymore. I will never buy a Proctor Silex Kettle anymore, it's too cheap. Don't waste your money.

It is hard to find gilters nowadays. Law is so soft on criminals! Even when she/he is GILTER than Satan, she/he not gilter! I say sell and buy new won.

I was use her for to boil water for to make tee but she no good now any more. She burn out I am thinking. Little ear on top of over her handle glows pretty orange light when I turn her "on" but she is not "on," her insides stay cold. My ex got l just like that two & I got rid of her. But I I think I use her now for nite-light. Not like my ex, who she stay dark and cold all night! She no good even for nite lite!
