Orthodontics Course - missing lateral incisors and braces
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 лип 2019
- Missing lateral incisors is a dental condition that affetcs roughtly 1,5% of the pupulation. Orthodontics, ortodontic diagnosis, and a proper dental training can help in solving the problem. When you have to choose the best orthodontic treatment for your patient, try to close the upper spaces with adequate biomechanics. In fact, dental implants are a major cost for the patient, and he/she will likely need to wait some years with a maryland bridge before having grown up as much as it is needed for the surgery. These orthodontic cases might seem hard, but taking an orthodontic maser or following these orthodontic lectures can clarify you on how to solve the problem effortlessly.

So basically I'm just doomed to always smile with my mouth closed 😭

Get composite bonding it’s what I’m getting
Not necessarily. I don’t think this guy’s smile looks bad at all. My canines naturally came in in this position and they do not look yellow to me. I use whitening toothpaste and avoid drinking coffee unless it’s through a straw and I don’t drink red wine or smoke... so that may play into it. But I wouldn’t worry.
@@demi2636 Did you get this? If so how do you like it?
Oh my God…this little point about putting the stops at the mesial of 6s. Been following ortho course for 2y and nobody told me. Thanks a million times
this has little bit of views cuz 1.5% of the population has this problem
nice explained! you are a great teacher
I am missing my left lateral incisor and i have a gap between on the right incisor
Same I do have 2 missing later incisors
I have this problem.2 canines in the place that laterals should be de. Now have almost end my ortododix therapy but the canines cant move more close to the centrals. So i am a little anxious if it would be aesthetic at the end...i think that it would but my dentist shoud add resin mayde to canines and centrals...or maybe i would have a little-little space ,we will see. But i think it would be ok
I don't have one side of my Incisor and there's no space for it. what can I do for that.
Does correcting missing lateral reshape the face? How it will shape it?
😍💜Nicely done I need you doctor I got the same situation thanks doc for helping me with this video 😁😊💚
I have missing left central and lateral Incisor.
I have sample case i hope my treatment will be successful
My lateral incistor teeth are missing too 😭 I want to fix it
How long does this take? Pls replyyyy
geez the comments he made are harsh
True
I thought it
Dog teeth and what not
🤦♀️ how can you say that
To bully someone to pay you money to get done something that he might not like the end result 2
I have missing laterals
And gaps in the first and canin teeth for me ita genetic
My dad was the same
And my brother doesnt have canins and he does have the laterals
I cant get braces cuz they still need to cutt my teeth sincr it wont make enough room for implants and not to say the reshape on the jaw or face
@@idiel24 im missing my lateral incisors and have gaps in between my front top teeth lol im screwed for any type of dental treatment
@@pawsneena this is exactly my case. The gap between my central incisors is big. I wasn't too self-concious about it, as I still thought I had a nice smile. I managed to save some money, and I thought: why not fix this. I got braces put on my upper teeth 10 days ago to close the front gap, while still making space for lateral implants on either side of my central incisors. My bottom left lateral incisor is a bit crooked, so my dentist adviced me to wear invisible trays on my bottom teeth instead of braces. He said I'll take ~9 months to close my front gap and that we'll talk about implants and other alternatives towards the end of the orthodontics treatment.
I want to substitute my canine for my lateral incisor but my dentist is saying i have to get an impĺant because i have bone loss. I am scared of implant. Cant I put bone graft and then continue to move the lateral incisor in that place?
Wait so am missing those, I never smile
I am missing one and the other one is so small it never grow up so i am so embressing to smile😪😪

Hi, I have lateral incisor missing on one side only.. could my canine be shaped to match the lateral incisor on the other side? I’m getting braces soon.. I do have gaps but they’re not as visible as this person in the video. I have very minor gaps. But one side of my mouth looks weird with lateral incisor missing. Also the tooth next to canine is not very visible.. is it possible to cut the gum above it for it to be more visible?
I have the exact same issue did you get your braces?
Same issue and i got my braces recently 😊.
@@franciscarlopuyod979 @Francis Carlo what was the treatmeent paln ? Did you have to get an implant ? Or were they able to fit your braces considering you are missing that lateral incisor ?
@@tiaanmalan1459 i got my braces last August 4.. For now my orthodontist make space between my central incisor and my canine using coil spring(im not sure if that's the right term) because there's no enough space for denture (currently i cant afford the implant 😂😂😂).
@@tiaanmalan1459 I'm only missing one lateral and I recently got braces a few months ago and the orthodontist said we have two options. 1. Either they make space in the particular side where the lateral is missing with the braces so they can later put the implant (making that particular space will make the whole treatment a longer process)
2. They can remove three premolars, then close up the spaces with braces. Removing three premolars will leave you with only one, therefore when they finally push in the teeth together it looks equal.
My orthodontist suggested to get option 2 since I'm only 16 and implant usually last no more than a couple decades. Thus we ended up choosing option 2.
As mentioned previously, I'm a few months in, so far the process has been looking pretty decent, hope that info helped!
I also have missing both side lateral incisors ... there is not enough space so I can't implant... suggest me what should I do
You get braces to pull the k9s back then get 2 implants that’s what I have to get
@@georgeearl131 for me .. braces wont make enough space for 1 implabt
@@idiel24 If I was you then I would just get a crown on both sides
I have the same problem, currently wearing braces and my canines have been moved to my incisors space and shaped! Because I too had no space for implants
@@samantakl89 do they look ok because I might have to get this and I’m scared
Wait a second. Maybe a little additional corona plastic will do. What does that mean? They are going to polish them before putting that ?
I will try to answer... Disclaimer though, I am senior pre-dental in undergrad so excuse my minimal dental terminology used. In a crown (aka cap) situation they would shave off a good bit of the entire tooth to be able to "cap" on the new tooth in place. This would use the original tooth as a base and then the fake tooth would be placed on top of it, fitting perfectly just like a puzzle piece, for cosmetic purposes. Veneers kind of use the same idea but is mostly a front covering and not all around. Very minor shaving off is required for the front part of the tooth, just so when the veneer is put it doesn't make that tooth look bumpy vs the other teeth. What I did not previously know, is that the front part of a veneer is made of porcelain (to give the cosmetic appearance of a full tooth) and the back is resin (to help act as glue and attach it in place?). From what I heard in case studies is that it seems that crowns are better for the long run, because they are completely sealed and are like a puzzle piece that fits onto the tooth, while veneers have tiny air gaps between the porcelain and the tooth layer. The tiny gaps may create some hygienic problems related to tiny pieces of food getting stuck and in the long run it may cause inflammation and need to be replaced. Anyone feel free to correct me if any of this is incorrect, this is what I have gathered thus far though! Hope it helps :)
This is my problem
That looks terrible. I have this condition too. I was born without them. I don't understand why wouldn't you just move the canines back, so they can place two implants for the laterals. That would give a far better look...
That looks incredibly fake and unnatural, as he is now missing the fangs. 😢
How long does it take to be done? I know it depends on the case but usually how long?
ages :(( i've got missing lateral incisors. i had to have 8 baby teeth taken out then wait for the k9s to come through and then i had to wait for some of my other big teeth to to come through bearing in mind i was 14 at this point so it had took a long time for the dentist to realise that i had missing teeth. it's took since may last year for one of my k9s to come through fully and the other one is only just coming through now but my other big teeth i'm still waiting on :(( so basically i have to wait cos they can't do anything unless the teeth are fully grown in then i'm probably going to need braces and implants or filler it's just a long painful process. This isn't a gene to be happy about :((
@@danielbrown4811 I few your pain ☹️ I’m 30 yrs old and I have always been so self conscious about my congenitally missing laterals, I have paid so much money to correct my teeth and I’m thankful to say that I’m half way through the implant process. Keep in mind I always knew growing up that my teeth looked different since my canine teeth were taking the place of my lateral incisors I just didn’t have enough money at the time 🥰🙏🏼🧡
@@Bigbodybri I can feel this 😭 I am 17 .. I want to fix it many people ask about it.. and those canine teeth took the place it looks like vamp and then gap 😭😂it's weirdo
@@mariekestam4828 what's the status right now?
@@mariekestam4828 is it possible to do invisalign or aligners instead of braces
I'd be happy with that guys after without the bonding....im that gappy. Lol
I am that 1% 🥲
She is probably related to dogs😂
