Of all the movies I've enjoyed - this one needed a sequel the least of all.

I heard Djimon Hounsou was coming back with Connie Nielson, but he's nowhere to be found in the trailer. Looked it up and Wikipedia said he had to drop out for scheduling :( The other actors are great, and I would normally be super excited to see Denzel and Joseph Quinn play total psychos, but I sadly will probably spend the whole movie lamenting Hounsou's absence.
Now he would've been better in denzels role, what a shame
Also, Russel was the best part, there's no way they can replace him

He brings Quality to every role. Because of Denzel I'll be in the Que to see it in the Cinema.
Not sure how I feel about the storyline or the rebooting of such a classic, but I have to admit Denzel looks friggin' amazing!
I thought Denzel was also taking the part of Hannibal in the upcoming film/Docu.

@@redbarchetta8782 Its Ridley Scott, he has always been very open on taking liberaties in regards to historical movies. Don't know why people are still surprised as far as he is concerned the historical context is just the setting for his own story that He wants to tell.
Denzel could’ve been playing a character that was Ethiopian or from Carthage so it’s not out of the norm.

How come they never create an original now? There are so many stories untold, books to be made into movies, legends/myths, etc. Just make something new, ok?

I had grave misgivings when I heard about this - agreeing with many of you that the original "Gladiator" was complete and excellent and needed no sequel - but this trailer has me thinking that it might be very good indeed.

Denzel was able to pull it off in the remake of Magnificent7. Let's hope he pulls this one off also, though it'll need a miracle considering the aura of Original Gladiator.
At first, I was like... no. Then the trailer kept going... maybe. Pedro Pascal looks out of place in this.
Another brilliant epic about to be ruined by a sequel. Hollywood needs to get some balls and create some new stuff.

The visual effects looks amazing, but what the hell with the rest!!! Also if you want to put Denzel Washington in ancient times, why couldn't it be a accurate movie about a certain time period of the Egyptians and or Nubians!?!?!
I wasn't going to go to this after that turd Ridley Scott put out in "Napolean" then I saw the Naval Battle. To think that they may have actually flooded the place for something like that is incomprehensible. Hope this movie is at least decent.
I'm a little apprehensive about this movie having essentially the same plot as the original, but I'm still looking forward to it. Ridley is a very hit-or-miss filmmaker, but he's got a solid cast and some awesome cinematography backing him up. I'm ready for him to unleash hell.
Go watch the official trailer for the original film - you will see a much more grounded film

So the trailer looks sick, but if you take away all the references of the first film, this would be still sick as a separate film. But Denzel feels so out of place here, he's using his bobby beans 2Guns acting, when I feel like we should be getting his Man On Fire acting.

I don't see it matching the first one; a lot of classics come out with the right cast and, at the right time, a bit of magic, but I will gladly settle for "A good" film.
