Dude the wall look is genius, for weeks I've been trying to plan my next set up, and you just made me completely re-think my entire plan. Lol, thank you!
Glad I could help!
yea same here. im buffled...its not only the wall, also the options you have in the back with the holes
So simple, but so stunning, thanks for the idea, think I'll try this on my new 5gal shrimp tank!
Boosting for the algorithm 🙌 Love your work, keep it up! 🌻🐝
That is STUNNING
VERY under rated video! Thanks for sharing some of your awesomeness ❤
Thank you for the kind words!
Hey, could you run through what you do to keep your moss so healthy? Do you dose any ferts? How strong is your lighting? And any other general tips? Thank you!
honestly for me cold water, some basic Fert (I like easy green but any works). Trim them once in a while. I have pretty intense lightly but honestly doesn't matter too much. I would say the best general tip is to have good circulation. Have a few sponge filters or a decent flow in the water.
I love moss so much I dont even bother using any other plant in my shrimp tanks
That quadruple filter is top tier ngl HAHAHHAHA
Brilliant
looks great man, i've been thinking about doing something similar for a while! congrats!
Can’t wait to see the results. I was also wondering on what type of moss you used for the walls?
It’s a type of Christmas moss
New subscriber here . Very fascinating to see moss wall . Is it still there ?? What is plastic material you used to grow them .
I sold them all earlier in the year, might start it up again. I just used food grade plastic (not sure exactly though) but had no issues regarding water perimeters.
The shrimp have died & gone to heaven🦐💞🦐💞 so dreamy
new subscriber! love your vids. thank you for sharing with us.
I appreciate the feedback!
If u don't mind how u added the moss to the new canvas. I didn't see added any glue. How this is holding? Thanks
I just used two sheets, sandwiched the moss in the middle and then zip tied/string tied the two panels together
Hey, can i know what the name of the dual sponge filter you are using is? Thanks
Looks like a great wat to create a carpet for groundcover too
Definitely!
Thank you!
So beautiful, do u think i can do this with flame moss?
definitely! I prefer Christmas moss and now that Ive taken it down, im feeling lots of regret!
@@ThatShrimpDude why did you do so? I feel you dude
I was just downsizing the amount tanks into one and decided to try something else, I still have some moss so if in a few months I change my mind I know what to do haha@@vichope6408
oh also I forgot to say, I honestly think Christmas moss is a good middle ground, grows wide and in a triangle so covers lots of space, also droops down with covers more plastic, weeping moss might be interesting although not super long or thick so might have gaps, flame would def work but its upward growth and more "longer" tendencies may look a little weird or cool never tried that. Java moss is just a no go for me, always ends up looking bad even when you trim it@@vichope6408
Would love to see a tour of your tanks! such creative work man
Thank you! I’ll definitely have to do one soon 👍🏻
It's amazing bro. 👏
This is THE most beautiful moss wall that i have ever come across , other than that video of the Ocean Aquarium's in San Francisco.❤
Can i know the temperature of your tank water please tho
Also can we have a look at an update to this project too please😊
Thank you! its just sitting at room temperature, where I like it cold so my room hovers around 20c (I dont really check the water temperature so I couldn't tell you)
I can for sure do an update when I get back to it in a few weeks! Unfortunately might be taking some of my tanks due my lack of time, not sure what to do will all this moss and these moss walls. Spend literally years growing them out now I dont even know if I can sell them or for how much, they are my babies :(
Beautiful moss wall - have you done an update to show how your new ones are doing in your grow tank?
ill make one tonight!
Did you
Do
The updated video? Also what are the mess things called? Thanks
@@joncoke8208 I believe he did. check out the latest video.
Everytime I try this the chiclids eat it. If I attach it to rocks they leave it alone. I'm jealous good job man. Maybe I'll do this in my 10 gallon and just use it for aquascaping
Looks grouse man. Can't wait to see the progress as it grows
Really interesting, thanks
amazing
Could you do this with Anubius ??
This looks great! I tried making one but didn’t succeed. Be sure not to have any livestock when trying, I had a couple of fishes that got stuck and died in between.
yeah this was for a shrimp tank, if I had fish in there Id have to make sure it was really tight and nothing can get in the back or push it out from the wall so its easy for them to swim around behind it as well. Actually had one of my rainbow danio lose an eye on a wall but this was after about 1.5 years so not super common.
Beautiful!! Do you have to use co2?? And what shrimp safe fertilizer do you use? Thanks
I only used C02 during the grow in phase but once placed in final tank I stop using C02 and cut back on ferts (I also use aquarium Co-Op easy green all in one fertilizer as it’s shrimp safe)
Flourish is good for shrimp too. But is this weeping moss or Java? Also do I grow it outside the water first?
That moss name?? Christmas moss??
Seems like it
can you use Java moss?
What kind of moss is that?
I've just set mine up like yours.
I was planning on putting my L number pleco in.
Do you think it may eat the small bits of moss growing through thinking it's algea ?
I honestly wouldn’t worry about it, as long as they aren’t starving in there the moss should be good to grow :)
Whats the name of your screen you use?
I cant search it to online shop.
Thanks
the link is just in the description. I used the: "SAVITA 6 Pieces 13x10.24in 7 Count Plastic Needlepoint Canvas White Plastic mesh Sheets for Embroidery Crafting and Knit and Crochet Projects" on amazon
Do you need co2, or can you go without it?
nice but how on earth the middle part of the moss its still alife?
Do you worry about shrimp going behind and dying? What about during grow out?
I had them close to the class and in the soil to above the water so never really thought that. A few did get back there but I guess always found a way back out, never saw one die back there. Grow out as in too bushy? I do a healthy trip, take quite a bit off so that I don have to do it often, doesn't look great for the next month or so but returns back to normal. Ive found if you dont trim it, it actually stays quite nicely but once you try pull it out of water where the moss attached to the wall is very weak or "long". so if you dont mind just leave it, but I would keep trimming it the more the better cause then it grows thick instead of long
How long did it take to get to that size in the main tank?
it took a few months of high light and c02 haha
Hi there for a 20 gallon long how much should I get
Very cool man
Thank you!
What type of moss is it please
its all Christmas moss :)
Can it placed at the bottom, for carpet moss?
Of course!
What is the panels called you use ?
Not sure, bought it in a crafts store. It is food grade just to be safe
These panels are used for cross stitching! Plastic for fishtanks
How long doest it take to grow like that ?
It took about 3-4 months of intense C02 and light. They are almost ready and I’ll be making another video within the month I think
Where did u buy this moss ?
I bought it 7 years ago from a guy in his basement haha
Wow! The Christmas moss wall in the initial tank 🤌🏼😗. I’ve always wanted to do the same , just never knew how. What Co2 system do you have ? You quickly glanced over to it and so I couldn’t get a good look at it. Do you have a link for it ?
Yea for sure, Im using the fluvial small 95g c02 system with a Neo diffuser. I wouldn't recommend it long term (as I have ordered a new c02 system that is in the mail) but for a temporary grow out tank or low c02 it works good (the refills are pricy that's my personal only downside so far)
@@ThatShrimpDude thank you for for your response. Any links for your current and one that’s coming in the mail ? I need one for a 20 gallon long shrimp aquarium.
this is my current one. www.amazon.ca/Fluval-17557-Pressurized-3-3CO2/dp/B079YY2NJP/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3U4KFZ4V1NH6M&keywords=fluval%2Bc02%2Bkit&qid=1646445281&sprefix=fluvial%2Bc02%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-4&th=1 The one in the mail is a DIY one but I don't have a link for it as it was a private order. Ill make a video on it and see if I can find some links when it arrives hopefully within a week or two. Hope that helped!
@@ThatShrimpDude definitely helpful. Thank you
