Have you got plans for a cherry or two ? I’m wracking my brain to remember if there is a cherry maybe somewhere else besides the orchard. As a kid, we had a big old bing cherry. My dad taught me tree climbing on that old tree when I was no bigger than Benjamin.
Thank you for the bonus ( extra) videos this week. It has not escaped my notice that here’s a Saturday video, and there was the one from Aaron working on the driveway in highlights. Thank you!🙏💚💚💚

I wonder is she worries about wasps nest being built of that shed due to all the sweet fruit trees near by!!!!!

    • @Bag0505
      @Bag0505 2 роки тому

@@snowangel1066 They're country people that are not scared of Black Widows and snakes. I somehow doubt wasps would worry them hugely. With her bird population that she feeds every winter i doubt a nest would be an issue anyways. But if it happens it can usually be removed easily.

Your garden shed looks beautiful! Very appreciative of the pruning lesson. I learned a couple of things that I can use on non- fruit trees. Such as when you have a long branch that is interfering with another, you don't have to take off the whole branch. Come down to a bud that is heading in the direction you want and cut there. The other is the different shapes and ways of pruning the leader. Thank you Laura. I have and continue to so much from you 💓

I like pruning apple trees in the open vase method. I feel like apple trees need a lot of care like spraying, pruning and when I need to thin out the amount of apple's in a bunch so they grow bigger and the open vase method makes it easier to reach all of the branches. Plus it's easier to harvest when the branches are lower. I also like how the branches stretch out like an umbrella. It's a pretty shape to me. It's very beautiful in a mature tree

Awesome! I pruned all of my trees regularly and it helps when there is a wind storm or ice storm. One year there was a big ice storm and people were complaining of fallen and broken branches and I had no fallen or broken branches in my garden. The trees also have a great shape when they are pruned. Pruning takes a lot of time but it's so worth it.

I am in zone 10, La Mesa, Ca. After living with our apricot tree for 30+ years we decided to cut it down. It had a very large hole in the bottom at least 12" high by 6" wide. Every year it bore fruit but then it got ants eating at the hole. We decided to cut it down.it's just one more tree taking water.
I am envious of people with well water . We had to cut down 8 of our avocado trees, the macadamia nut tree, and a loquate tree. We are down to 4 orange trees and 8 avocados. I use a lot of succulents now and a small amount of miscellaneous what my husband thinks of as phew-phew plants. 5 roses lots of geraniums, including 2 that I started from seeds from Nashville. Also gladiolus and since watching you I started 5 dahlias.
Thank you for teaching me more than I can ever retain in just the last 6 months or so that I've been watching. I start every morning with you and your sweet family.😊❤😊

Thanks for the vid! Been fighting scale on 2 story tall lilacs. Last year, it seemed like we finally got the upper hand! A lady and her little girl brought a bucket to them door last year, asking if they could buy some lilacs. I said no, and her face fell a foot. I continued, but you can sure HAVE some! We filled her bucket, and i gave her another bucketload for her Mom! That's the fun of flowers, fruit and veggie gardening- sharing! The shed looks great- anxious to see the chandelier hung soon! 🌳🌸🌱🍎

Just saw Monty Don call it "Goblet" shaped for fruit tree pruning.

As kids dad always said what we could reach was for us. What nature put on ground was for the livestock/chickens and what's too talks for birds n insects

Chill hours are hours when you have temperatures between 34 and 45 degrees F. (1-7 C.) And temperatures that are cooler do not count. It's easy to look up a map for your area too to see the chill hours for your area.

Laura with your dormer on the flower shed not finished did you ever think about opening the roof there to let some natural light in? Just a thought. Thank you for the refresher pruining class. Hugs to the kids. Take care everyone

They will be filming in the shed and want to control lighting, not add problems.

🍐🍎🍑🫐🍓Yum! Y’all are gonna have so much fun eating all the delicious fruits! I love your flower shed. It’s just beautiful sitting out there. Pretty views from it. I can only dream of having a shed like that. Can’t wait to see all the pretty arrangements you will create in it. Hugs! 💕☀️🪴🦋🐝

Laura, Thanks for the demonstration of trimming trees. So helpful to watch you do it. Wouldn’t the flower cottage look so wonderful in yellow? It would look so good against the black fence. Can’t wait to see what you decide. Happy Spring‼️

I have alway wondered how you prune fruit trees. Thank you. It was so much fun to see your babies. They are growing so much. 🌷🐰

The garden shed is already so cute! Your pruning methods were so helpful! But Samantha Grace and her little (I should say big) personality are so adorable! She has so much personality for a child her age! You weren’t going to get her with that shoulder hunched up! 😂 The video you had posted with her foot stomping like Benjamin, that was adorable. She is feisty!

Also remember, God made dirt and it don’t hurt! 😂 something we used to say when our kids were little.

I really enjoyed your video and your love your cut flower 🌹 🌺 🌸 shed . We live in Georgia now but I was born and grew up in Indiana and I participated in 4H all of my life. My dad and I planted fruit trees near our lake but it took forever for fruit. My dad was raised on a farm , My mom and I really love your channel I know my dad would have too . Thank You for all of your sharing and hard work my mom and I love 💕 your channel and your family togetherness. Thank You 😊.

Great information! I don't have any fruit trees but use these tips when pruning other shrubs and find myself saying "buh bye" when I snip off a branch that interferes with others or with me when I'm mowing 😄Thanks for the bonus videos this week Laura and Aaron. Have a great week everyone!

Hi Laura and Aaron! Very interesting and informative video. Seeing the kids is always a bonus! I like the shed the color it is now. If you have to paint something, maybe just paint the trims black to match the fences, etc. Thank you so much for sharing!
