That was really an excellent overview. Thanks! I'm working with a design/builder who uses CA X13 and I'm the future homeowner using HD Pro 2022. I did a 'custom' bath+shower using custom backsplashes in HD Pro but I took the simple way and made my tile 1/16" to match the two stripes of 6" 'wall covering' on those shower walls. I'll let the design/builder adjust the materials to be custom with (backerboard+thinset+tile) as he wishes ... which would make sense for an accurate CA 'Material List'.
Glad it helped. If I understand you correctly, you're using multiple backsplashes to show the tile? Yeah, that's another great reason I use wall material regions or custom backsplashes in my shower.
Is there a way to customize the material? I am getting stuck on this as I have updated the texture with a user catalog option, but the material goes blank when I try to add a custom texture.
Hmmmm. You can customize the layers of any material region by opening the region, and you can paint a texture onto the top layer in any 3D or elevation view. Can you further describe what you mean by "goes blank"?
Tim - do a couple videos about the business of design and how much money you make doing it. We're two guys in the upper midwest doing about 300k in fees/year using Chief. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks for asking this. It has got me thinking. My goal this year is right in line with that fees/designer/year. I have some further thoughts and questions. Can you contact me on my website designbuildsolutionsllc.com/contact/
Paul, I was looking back to my list of videos and made a "Business of Design" playlist. Check it out here. ua-cam.com/play/PLgqPmSjCZ5AGhJdWl605ICEfyQdoPhKHH.html I am curious about your thoughts. Give me a holler on designbuildsolutionsllc.com/contact/

The wall material region is not showing in my elevations. I have toggled 3D views on and off but has no effect. Any ideas? I'm running CA X13.
Is the layer on? I can’t remember the name right now but in your layers you should be able to search for a name. Start with “material” or “region”
