    Sick bluff. However, if Mike was raising on the turn with a set and two pairs and boated up on the river, would he really checked on the river out of pos? I would imagine he would just bomb it at a high frequency, not risking Hook to check behind. However, I can't seem to remember the last time I saw some check jam river on a stone cold bluff at 2/5, let alone 500/1k with 2m usd at stakes. So what do I know

    On the day Doyle died we had our weekly poker game of friends. I announced that if anyone could get a win off with the Doyle hand they had my respect, I won 4 nice pots with it that night and another homie won 2 with it. Then this last game I indulged with our gambler friend who loves shoving all in and getting calls, I had 10-2 off and he had 5-8 of hearts and I hit the wheel on him. • @edide1627
      @edide1627 29 днів тому

      You'll get snap-called at 1/3 or home games.
      He played it like a low-pair from the start (played representing a set on the flop and turn) and probably decided to bluff with that specific hand on almost any runoff, by the river he knew Hook had a strong hand (with that lead bet) but Mike shows he really has balls of steal (by jamming) though the river pairing the A helped him get the fold for sure. I'm curious what he/Mike would've done if the river had been something else (any non-completing flush card).
      One thing is for sure, Texas Mike is an expert bluffer, even though he over-bluffs it helps him get paid when he has it.

    this is a classic example of playing within your limits. In general I would never fold the nut straight in that situation in any 1-2 or 2-5 game I play in where I buy in for or at most have a thousand at stake. Now if it were for 750,000 , well I would never risk that much in a game. I am semi retired and while quite well off financially I am not going to risk a large amount of my net worth!

    That was sick. But there’s no way this is real money. Deals are made before it starts and it’s all for show. But here I am watching, so it works.

    I'm very curious if live tells went into Mike's decision here. On the turn, Hook clearly LOVES his hand (checks cards right after Mike raises, barely waits for dealer to tell him the raise size before calling). And then of course on the board changing river he just goes for it... vs overbet too idek he's a sicko

    He didnt even look at him and try to read him, just gave up on the hand, i think if he took his time and analyzed all the factors he makes that call, texas checked the river, that is weakness when he reraised the turn and got a call, also his all in had a too overconfident tone

      That is either weakness or a trap…
      Either way, looks polarising.
