Having taught engineering in a college for 37 years and reaching the dizzy heights of Senior Lecturer, I realised within the first few days that I was no better than any one of my students, I just had more experience than them and if they wanted I could share that with them, not because I had to but because I wanted to. Fortunately I enjoyed teaching immensely and I have to say also learning from my students until the day I retired. I have a similar outlook on life to yours so I could relate to your interview. We are all equal and if something pleases you, conventional or not, who is to say that it's wrong. A great video. Thank you.
Dear Mr. Chang, I have never owned a bonsai nor do I intend to in the future. But I love watching your videos and I have learned a lot from you. I can translate what you teach to just about any sphere of my life, and I often watch you when I have to solve a problem of some sort. Thank you so much for everything ,you really have made a positive impact on my life.
Peter, I appreciate your perspective on the level at which you teach. Your humility is amazing when contrasted by your accolades. Thank you for being such an active advocate for beginner and frugal bonsai especially through the financial uncertainties of the past few years. There are so many wonderful channels and artists to learn from but I always come back to Heron's videos because of your spirit of kindness and gratitude.
The "it can't be done" really is a mindset. It feels like a lesson that a of my friends who grew up poor in Soviet Poland inadvertently taught me: rather than being stressed out by what she doesn't have during a shortage, her default mindset is to how she can make due with what she does have.

I love your attitude towards life and nature, the way you teach and share your knowledge is unique. So humble and so deep at the same time. Thanks for sharing. The nursery is so beautiful. I’ll pay you a visit the next time I go to the UK. Big thanks Mr Chan, you are a truly leading light in this world
What I like most about Peter Chan's UA-cam videos is that he takes the mystery out of bonsai. There are so many misconceptions about this art form out there, including in other UA-cam videos, that I have come to greatly appreciate Peter's hands-on, "you-can-do-this" approach. Peter, we thank you for all of your efforts.
Morning Bonsai Breakfast Clubbers 🙏🌳☕️🥣 Great interview Peter and Jed. Always a pleasure to hear your anecdotes and listen to you talk about the bonsai hobby. 🙏
I've learnt more from your videos and writings on bonsai than I have of everything else combined. You have a true passion to the artform and the plants and it shows in your bonsai
Dear Mr Chan, because of you not only have I’ve learned about bonsai but also patience and a great sense of serenity. You’ve always remaining humble and you are my inspiration. Thank you for the great interview. 🤗
Thank you Peter for sharing your talent and teaching us and allowing us to evolve our skills. In every video you make your passion for bonsai and eduction comes through. 🙏
Peter Chan helped me learn the love of bonsai. He taught start with what you have. So during Covid I just used trees on our farm. Yamadori before I knew what the word means. I made something with what is at hand.Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 3 years later I have learned to propagate cuttings and have progressed to azaleas , Japanese maples , figs, and fruit trees. You are an awesome individual.
After stumbling upon your videos a while ago, just by watching you enough, I repeated what I saw on my trees and it worked… there you go. I thank God for you and what you upload 😊
Thank you for all of your wisdom Peter. I have started 50 cuttings and have a total setup cost of $200. It is hard to believe my little cuttings will outlive me. Very humbling.
Bonsai seems like "high art" on a pedestal but you made it so accessible that I decided to give it a go. And now, it's one of my growing hobbies. Thank you Peter. You influenced me and made a positive impact on my life. :) Thank you. Hope to visit your nursery one day.
Peter I started my bonsai journey many many years ago by first reading one of your books and now I have been delighted to find you on you tube! a legend and I love the shirts! many thanks Richard

Hello Mr. Jed S. !!! Please learn to pronounce the word more correctly by saying “bone - sigh” and not “bonzeye”. Otherwise, this was a very pleasant video interview that promotes the art.
What a WONDERFUL interview Peter. As I walked in my bonsai garden, I noticed the Red Quince is breaking into bud and the moss had completely covered the soil. It was such a moment of beauty. Thank you so much for all of your encouragement and willingness to share your knowledge.
I really enjoyed the interview, hearing Peter's thoughts about life and bonsai!

Neat to hear your dad went to school at MSOE. Have you ever visited Wisconsin?
So proud of you Gurudev, frugality used to be a way of life in India, my children used to think we were poor while they were growing up 😂
I have only one wish in the world and that is to one day go over to the UK and visit Herons Bonsai Nursery.
Great thanks

Weak interviewer breaking rule #1-- he's talking a ton more than his guest. Ugh
