I am waiting as well. I can't get over the crispness difference between a b&w screen over a color e-ink. Not to mention the better ppi, @KitBetts-Masters any insider info from Boox on if a Note Air 4 B&W is coming?
If the resolution depends on bw or color, how do you select between them? What if I have a color document but want to view in bw for the higher resolution. Or will my handwritten document lower the resoluion because I made one color swish on page 22 of my otherwise bw document?
There is no switching: if you, for example, open a colorful selfie photo of a man with black glasses then the glasses will look sharper than the rest of the photo.
I really like the video Kit, very informative. As a Note Air 2 owner (2022), do you think it is worth it to upgrade now? or is it better to wait for the next iteration? I would really like to get some color into my notes but not a must have feature at the moment for me. I would also like to get some improvement in the responsiveness. What are your thoughts?
Hiya, it is now a big enough leap up to a colour tablet with other improvements as well yeah, however I would check out my recent one about drawing performance if that is at all important to you, if it is then maybe wait to see that that is fully sorted by firmware updates. :-)
I know you can add a Bluetooth keyboard for the 10.3 or the Note Air 4C, but I'm guessing the 4C is snappier and has less lag than the 10.3 and would be the better option for typing or word processing? Or are the differences negligible?
Yeah, wow, tricky one if they're both the same price. I think probably the improved Kaleido 3 screen is worth going with the note. Buy yourself a nice portable keyboard if you think you'll want that!
@@KitBetts-Masters the only real thing that is nudging me towards the tab utlra c pro is the longer battery on paper, would you say it is that big of a difference?
Hi Kit👋, do you think it is significantly better that bigme inknote color+ lite for reading and web browser with translate options?(You reviewed it year ago it's on Android 11) As looks there are no any discounts for such pricey device
Yeah, it is significantly better! That lite is not a bad deal to be honest, but I think that the Boox is definitely priced fairly for the better build, the improved software experience and the improved screen. :-)
Love my Go 10.3. I am sorry that drawing on the NA4C is buggy. I’m praying that a firmware update will fix it for you soon. However, this underscores why iPads aren’t going anywhere as an e-ink companion. My 2021 M1 iPad Pro was under < $700 USD new, and I recently dropped it in the tub. Under Apple Care +, a brand-new replacement was $50. Didn’t trade for a new M4, because the M1 is still so over-powered that I couldn’t see a meaningful difference.
@@plzt OneNote works well on Boox. It is a different experience than using on an iPad or similar tablet since it is e-ink but I have had a good experience using it for writing notes.
Great video! nice that you change your spot. Anyway, Boox 10.3 is the star of E-inks tablets in my opinion. If you like color tablets buy Samsung or Apple tablets.
Technically it's the same as Ultra C Pro, except for 1. storage (not significant with SD) 2. CPU's GHz - (not critical: Pro has 2.8 Air has 2.4) 3. Compatible cover-keyboard: Pro has, Air no (not critical) 4. Android 12 (Pro) vs 13 (Air4 C) Does anyone know how critical is difference between Android 12 vs 13? I read there are some security improvements. Worth the Ultra C Pro attention with an older Android version?
If Note Air 4 C had a camera to scan documents then I would take the bait. An improved drawing app would also be nice, but drawing is not as important for me as reading and organizing books, notes and documents. The iPad would almost be perfect if it was an e-ink tablet...
Thanks for this review. How is this device for writing in MS OneNote? Which of these top eink tablets is best gor OneNote including the writing experience? Cheers.
I’m feeling entirely stuck between this device and the RM Paper Pro. I’m tempted by the Android 🤖 options, especially for things like Otter or Zotero. But - I love the simplicity of the Remarkable environment. I have to remind myself that I sold my RM2 for a reason… so I slightly lean towards Boox. *But*, I bought a Palma and had to return it because of way too many pinhole spots on the screen. So, I’m torn. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Go for it. I went to Note A3C, one of the best investment in my life. I use it very extensively, maybe 1-2 h professionaly and 2-3 h to read comics or novels. Let's start by the cons: If you want to watch video, forget it. The laminated screen is loosing its paper texture after one year. The cover is damaged on the side Pro: Everything else. Now, am I clear ? PS: I would like to thank the whiskey Jameson for helping me to fast-type this comment.
I own the 4c and the remark pro . the remarc 4 . why I have both? because (well i have the $$ to buy them but thats not the reason ) - the 4c is more portable because of the smaller size . if you are on the road - the remark pro is little too bulky. it is longer and wider by 20% on both . when i go down - both do the same . they are for writing and reading . these are not devices for surfing the web or watching video. monitors from the 90's look better . way better. the remark pro has better friction feeling and i wish the 4c had the same . the 4c has many features in the note taking app that i wish remark had . both batteries are good . I am not heavy users so batteries last for long . color difference? who cares . they are both horrible in color compare to any modern LCD screen. this is a device to write your thoughts and read documents - not to watch photos or surf the internet . get real computer for these tasks .

I am waiting as well. I can't get over the crispness difference between a b&w screen over a color e-ink. Not to mention the better ppi,
@KitBetts-Masters any insider info from Boox on if a Note Air 4 B&W is coming?
If the resolution depends on bw or color, how do you select between them? What if I have a color document but want to view in bw for the higher resolution. Or will my handwritten document lower the resoluion because I made one color swish on page 22 of my otherwise bw document?
There is no switching: if you, for example, open a colorful selfie photo of a man with black glasses then the glasses will look sharper than the rest of the photo.
That makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
Thank you Kit. I'll wait a little bit and see
If we are just reading on this are we really talking about weeks in terms of battery llife? (or days at least)
Would you use it with Google remote desktop to code?
You certainly could, I'm not someone who codes, but I think colour e-ink certainly suits that use case. You may want more space though!
what proc this devices use ? now thinking about this or T10c (not tab10C)
I know you can add a Bluetooth keyboard for the 10.3 or the Note Air 4C, but I'm guessing the 4C is snappier and has less lag than the 10.3 and would be the better option for typing or word processing? Or are the differences negligible?
If I could get a note air4c for about the same price as a tab ultra c pro which one should I get? I really really don'tknow I'm overwhelmed
Which foldable keyboard are you using?
Seenda, I have a video, but I also have an update on that. It's quite flimsy and not very satisfying to type on.
Go 10.3 is absolutely great. As I say, the best deal in eink right now.
How do all these tablets work with Microsoft apps such as OneNote? Would love to use e-ink and I can link in to my work system with office 365
Yes. You can do this unless your company blocks it.
@@Kaw22130 BYOD is allowed so this would work. Just is it usable?
@@plzt OneNote works well on Boox. It is a different experience than using on an iPad or similar tablet since it is e-ink but I have had a good experience using it for writing notes.
Great video! nice that you change your spot. Anyway, Boox 10.3 is the star of E-inks tablets in my opinion. If you like color tablets buy Samsung or Apple tablets.
Yeah, you know, I really needed to film and edit in a different style, just to keep the creative juices flowing.
Technically it's the same as Ultra C Pro, except for
1. storage (not significant with SD)
2. CPU's GHz - (not critical: Pro has 2.8 Air has 2.4)
3. Compatible cover-keyboard: Pro has, Air no (not critical)
4. Android 12 (Pro) vs 13 (Air4 C)
Does anyone know how critical is difference between Android 12 vs 13?
I read there are some security improvements.
Worth the Ultra C Pro attention with an older Android version?
If Note Air 4 C had a camera to scan documents then I would take the bait. An improved drawing app would also be nice, but drawing is not as important for me as reading and organizing books, notes and documents. The iPad would almost be perfect if it was an e-ink tablet...
Thanks for this review. How is this device for writing in MS OneNote? Which of these top eink tablets is best gor OneNote including the writing experience? Cheers.
Yeah, this is the best device for one note on eink. 🙂
@ Thank you. Have a great T.G.!
Still looks like the same sub par pen though for a premium product :(
I’m feeling entirely stuck between this device and the RM Paper Pro.
Let's start by the cons:
If you want to watch video, forget it.
The laminated screen is loosing its paper texture after one year.
The cover is damaged on the side
Pro:
Everything else.
Now, am I clear ?
PS: I would like to thank the whiskey Jameson for helping me to fast-type this comment.
Love this, very concise!
Thanks for the comment, I'm surprised about the screen loosing its paper structure after one year. Isn't that a big con?
For reading, Note Air 4C, it's worse tablet. I get headache. It's a kid toy compared with Remarkable.
Priced at over 450 dollars and colors of 1985, much better options exist - IPad has Retina display resolution with anti reflective display
