Los Angeles Wildfire update: We realize there have been several more confirmed deaths since we recorded the narration for this video yesterday. Since this is an ongoing situation we will plan to revisit with an update in next week's video. Our sympathies to everyone affected by this tragedy.
I am glad that you don't only cover celebrity deaths. There are so many people dying that we'll never hear about. Life is so fragile. Also, narrator has a very soothing voice and this fits her perfectly. Thank you Legacy for all that you do.
I'm mourning the one year of the passing of my mother 1/7/24. R.I.P. Dear Mother. Also, my father and Mr Carter shared the same birthday 10/1/1924, as well as serving during WW2, with the other 2 gentleman in the video. May they all be thanked for their service, and R.I.P., as well as the souls of the those lost in New Orleans and Las Angeles. And thank you again Legacy, for another respectful eulogy, as always, with the utmost of dignity.
Greg Gumbel was a good guy. Never rooted for anyone, just played it straigh and did not ovr react to simple plays. Thank you from a lifer Dalla Cowboys fan.
I just watched Linda Lavin's husbands yt post today about her passing in detail. He made me cry. They were on the way to the hospital and she passed in the car. The way ems/fire etal treated her afterward was disgusting. Leaving her on the sidewalk where they worked on her until a mortuary came to pick up her body and they all left. Her husband sat there with her body. He had to google a funeral home closeby on his phone, call then they wanted his credit card info, emailed forms, then payment had to clear before they came and got her body off of the sidewalk. He was distraught. In canada they are worked on in the ambulance and taken to the hospital or the coroner comes. She had newly discovered cancer but wasnt aware she was dying. They were about to start radiation on the tumors. She was struggling to breathe which was why they were driving to the hospital. His post was heartbreaking. 😢
Mike Rinders death hurt me. He was a great man who tried to right the wrongs of Scientology He and Leah brought attention to the orginazations evil doings. Also prayers to LA residents, celebrity or not.
Greg Gumbel was legendary, he was the reason I watched cbs sports they could have him anywhere and he was great whether it be the studio, doin play by play in the booth or on the field for interviews
I don’t either. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched videos where someone was in a wreck, committed suicide, or died of old age. The most recent was William Shatner. Last year it was Marie Osmond. Before that it was Willie Nelson. They are all still here.
My sympathy for the people of Los Angeles for the tragedy that they are facing. Many prayers for them. May all who were featured in this segment rest in peace 🙏🏽 ❤
Also recently passing away was controversial singer and political activist Anita Bryant, who died of cancer at the age of 84 on 12/16/2024. I believe her passing wasn't publicly announced until just a few days ago. Pro wrestler Richard "Black Bart" Harris (76) and actor Bill Byrge (92) of the "Ernest" movie series passed away yesterday, January 10, 2025. They'll likely be among those remembered in next week's video.
@Inspector-71 Well, I look at it this way: he is human, and the best people can have a dark side to their character. In fact, if you read the Bible, the prophets and apostles had flaws in their characters. But overall, I believe Jimmy had more good in him than bad, so that's why he is respected and loved by many.
Many thanks to Britt Allcroft for creating Thomas and Friends. These train characters defined our son’s childhood. He still has all of his trains which are part of a much larger train collection. RIP.🙏🏻😔
72 years ago on Jan. 1, 1953, on New Years Day, the world of country music lost "The Hillbilly Shakespeare" Hank Williams Sr.. He died while traveling to a show in Canton, Ohio at the age of 29. He formed the band The Drifting Cowboys band and had such memorable hits like Your Cheating Heart, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.
I had a bad bout of insomnia during the early 90's and one of the shows I used to regularly watch was ABC World News Now, an overnight news show that started around that time and starred Aaron Brown and Lisa McRee. I think it was the first time either had been before a national audience. He will be missed.
I loved Jerry Orbach. He was Harry on Murder She Wrote which led to his spinoff The Law and Harry Mcgraw. Great show. Then Law and Order. Until he got sick. ❤
when the guy that did puff the magic dagon . that tookmy breath when I was little dad would sing this to me . and it has been a year today that dad passed .
RIP to all the souls mentioned here tdy. Former President James Earl Carter, was such a kind soul. I was sorry to hear of his passing, but he had a long & beautiful, filled with love & family. God bless u all.🕊🙌🏽🕊⚘️🕊
NOT GOOD WHEN 3 OF THE LAST SURVIVORS OF BOTH PEARL HARBOR ATTACKS AND THE FAMED TUSKEGEE AIRMEN ARE PASSING AWAY. THESE MEN WERE LIVING HISTORY. MAKING HISTORY BEING HISTORY TELLING HISTORY. NOW LETS NOT LET THEM BE FADED HISTORY
I completely agree with you about not letting history fade away. Although the loss for their loved ones, and us, might not be good, for those three men it might have been good for them. Many very elderly people get so very weary of living and just want it to end. We don't know, but it could have been what they wanted after a long, eventful life.
Peter of PP&M rest peacefully…I was lucky enough to see you in 1963 when I was 13…I will always remember that fantastic concert. I to this day still listen to your music ❤️😊✌️
Sadness in saying goodbye to Peter Yarrow. Peter, Paul, & Mary were ( & continue to be) a great joy & positive + since they began in the 1960s. The words of their songs (some written by Peter), their fun & joy in performing, & their concerns for all mankind was/is undeniable. Also enjoy his performing with his daughter in his later years. My sympathy to his family & song-mate Paul Stokey. Endless prayers 🙏 to those victims & families in New Orleans & California. My heart hurts for all. 😔😮

You know, when Mary died that was it for me, I was finished with Peter, Paul & Mary. I mean what were they gonna do? Hire some guy and call it Peter, Paul and Marty? It just wouldn’t be the same.
Sam Moore of Sam and Dave passed away last night, Jan 10. His final performance will be broadcast in a couple of months. His biggest hit was “Soul Man,” made famous by the Blues Brothers.
Rest in peace Britt Allcroft. The flag is flying at half staff on the Island of Sodor and Sir Toppam Hat has declared a national holiday. No trains will be running on the island in remembrance.
Rest peacefully to all who have passed the end of December and early January including the ones who passed from the California wildfires. Condolences to all of the grieving families.🙏🏾
You should have added a little more on Geoffrey Deuel. His older brother, Pete, for example, whom played on many Westerns and the series " Alias, Smith and Jones ".
Peter Deuel: I never missed an episode of the classic Western series Alias Smith and Jones starring Pete Duel, his stage name, and Ben Murphy. Thank you for the notifications. They are much appreciated.
Thank you so much for reporting on Aaron Brown. He was a local news anchor in Seattle for over 15 years before making it national. Had no idea that he had died.

Sending prayers to all affected by this terrible tragedy.
Buck Henry did not write Heaven Can Wait. It’s a remake of Here Comes Mr. Jordan. Henry re-adapted the story.
I have feeling you guys are Pro Israel.
Wayne Osmond died in 2025 not in 2024
THE Vivienne ❤❤❤
Rest peacefully, Linda Lavin. Thank you for blessing us with your talents.
Alice was one of my favorite shows in the late 70's to early 80's.
Along with Polly Holiday, who played Flo as the character telling MEL all the time
KISS MY GRITS 😂😂😂😂
Its hard to believe that every cast member has passed including the young man who played Tommy her son.
That show taught me a lot about being a woman, single motherhood, and workplace dynamics. They were all great actors and I miss them.
Wow, he passed as well? I can't believe she had lung cancer. So sad. All these people dying of Cancer. So sad😢. May they all rest in peace. 🙏 ❤
@@debby8428 I believe Polly Holiday and Diane Ladd are still here.
I am glad that you don't only cover celebrity deaths. There are so many people dying that we'll never hear about. Life is so fragile. Also, narrator has a very soothing voice and this fits her perfectly. Thank you Legacy for all that you do.
100% agree. Her voice is lovely.
I love history. I’ve learned so much. I also love Hollywood Graveyard. I’ve learned so much about the early entertainers from silent movies, etc.
RIP Aaron Brown. He began at CNN while I was there. And he was one of the kindest and most easy going anchors I ever knew.
I'm mourning the one year of the passing of my mother 1/7/24.
R.I.P. Dear Mother.

So sad. She deserved better. I enjoyed TV series ALICE a great deal. RIP Linda.
That’s heartbreaking 💔
Heartbreaking 💔
It's despicable. Damn 😩
So unprofessional and disrespectful.
Mike Rinders death hurt me. He was a great man who tried to right the wrongs of Scientology He and Leah brought attention to the orginazations evil doings. Also prayers to LA residents, celebrity or not.
Tex Ritter was the Dad of John Ritter
RIP Mike Rinder. We appreciate so much your effort to open the eyes of many people.
I remember watching Olivia Hussey in "Romeo and Juliet", "It" and "Psycho IV: The Beginning".
RIP to all.
Also in Ivanhoe
I never believe or trust in any celebrity death unless I hear it from here.
They always handle the obits with class and dignity.

1:32 It's ironic that Tommy (Phillip McKeon) passed away five years before Alice (Linda Lavin) did. Rest in peace everyone...

Cancer.

God bless President Carter. He might not have been considered one of the great presidents, but he will always been remembered as a great MAN.
I agree with your comment about him being a great man. Most godly president ever known.
He was too honest to be POTUS.
I totally agree with you he was also a very honest man and a great man for his habitat for humanity involvement
He wasn't as nice as you've been led to believe...
@Inspector-71 Well, I look at it this way: he is human, and the best people can have a dark side to their character. Many thanks to Britt Allcroft for creating Thomas and Friends. These train characters defined our son’s childhood. He still has all of his trains which are part of a much larger train collection. RIP.🙏🏻😔
I don’t think Britt Allcroft created Thomas the Tank Engine - But she did market him into worldwide prominence.
Im surprised you didn't mention Olivia Hussey playing Mary in Jesus of Nazareth.

Thanks for including Jonny Walker A GREAT radio presenter I started listening to him from Radio Caroline to Radio 2 when he retired ❤
So strange 2 Pearl Harbor vets pass same week. Thank you guys.
Yes, but they are very elderly. Peace be theirs.
The Greatest Generation
Strange ?
One was 103. The other was 105. I think it's more strange that they both lived to be over 100.
R.I.P. Eugene Baltes
He was the oldest living American male.
He died on December 29, 2024, in River Grove, IL, at the age of 110.
❤️Rest in peace Peter Yarrow❤️
So long, Wayne. Your music got me through some rough teenage years. You were a special man.
I read he'd had a brain tumor in '97. It was successfully operated on but left him deaf & he had a cochlear implant.
Respect for naming the Nola victims ❤

You said Wayne Osmond died on January 1, 2024. Don't you mean 2025?"
Nice job as usual. 😊
I love that you mention the folks who died in recent tragedies across the country. Very classy. ❤

I watched Aaron Brown on our local news in Seattle for years.
He was the anchor @ KIRO if I’m not mistaken, while I was @ Ft. Lewis 1985-86

Wow, we lost two survivors of Pearl Harbor in a week. Now there are only 12 left.😥 We lost a member of the Tuskegee Airmen too. And RIP Mike Rinder.
As always presented with respect. Thank you
😢 So many names, so early in the year….
I remember Olivia Hussey playing Bill's wife Audra in the TV miniseries IT.
I remember Gimme Little Sign by Brenton Wood. Loved that song

You have a picture of Geoffrey Duel being in the television show Gidget. That was his brother Pete.
They weren't twins, according to google
@lazyhomebody1356 I corrected it. But they looked very much alike and that's Pete they have a picture of in Gidget.
