Basically the whole concept of the staging is that the other females are “copies” of Natalia (the middle singer) and that’s why the other girls are reproducing every move of her (even the lyrics so it seems like lyp syncing). And at the beginning I think you’re talking about Denmark’s performance.
Every element of the staging and every movement is intentional It’s a very rehearsed entry with a lot of thought put into it I find it very impactful and original
At least the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's upload now clearly labels it as a "studio mix", whereas the performances of the 7 other finalists are labelled as being "live".
@@irenedavies144 It's not the first time Denmark has tampered with the audio for the UA-cam video. They never claimed it was a live performance in the title either. Saba had some in-ear issues, so that's probably why they did it. If you want to hear her vocals, you can always search for her after-party performance.
She had real trouble with her earpiece during her performance, so that's probably why they overdubbed it. She had to take it out while performing, so it definitely caused her trouble.
Yeah it was Denmark’s entry that was overdubbed - it’s the live performance but they’ve put the studio cut over it for an official video I imagine. There is a winners performance with Saba singing live but the mixing is very bad that u basically can’t hear her unfortunately
I disagree, the staging is quite smart, but very artistic. The performance is about the leading performer being multiplied. Is clear from the first moment that the other girls are not like back singers or other voices; they are like other versions of her.. that is why they move the same, they dress the same, they move their lips while she moves their lips... but some of them move intentionally in different parts... well... that was clear for me... I did not notice confusion on her face while they were performing. For me was clear and perfect.
The singer is talented, the song is good and quiet catchy for me, the fact they are real violins on stage is great. But I would have liked a difference in the singer's outfit compared to the choir. I'm a little confused because they are all dressed the same.😊
I see your point, even if the parts you've noticed are intentional, that doesn't really matter. If it looks confusing or like they're making mistakes, it's bad staging.
Interestingly, many of the points that you made about the national finals were actually changed in the semi-final performance. In the semi-final Natalia is standing alone on the stage, she's noticeably louder and they have a different style of microphone to pick up both a vocals and the violin solo. She does stay pretty static during the performance but she does have a bit more movement in the arms. It's like they watch your video! It's a shame that the song didn't make it to the Grand Final though.
I know this is not related . I just watched the Madonna. I will survive video from you . Thank you for your input . I love to see more of these input of Madoona Thank you
I love the song, she has an amazing voice like you said but I have to take another look I never noticed the other stuff you mentioned about the backing singers, I hope they can make it better before May, it would be a shame if they messed it up.
File under Vocal Gymnastics. What an intricate song to perform. There seems to be a lot of ambience in the track so maybe all the mics were live for the violin section? (The bows need attached lasers!) I also reckon the inclusion of pre-taped audience reaction as why do we never see 'em. You are right that this has the appearance of being quickly thrown together without proper rehearsals. Best -
I think they are mouthing the lyrics because they are supposed to be four different mirror reflections of Natalia; so you will only hear one voice. The one 'In The Middle'.
I thought they were actually replicas of her, but the harmonies didn't come through until the last part of the song.I'm not sure how strongly I like it. She can sing but I'll listen some more
I actually like this kind of static choreography. Makes it kind of unique in the competition. The lip synching never bothered me. I think there's still plenty of time to perfect this.
I actually think it’s intentional that they are lip syncing, since they are dressed like the singer and copying her, but trouble is it’s a bit confusing and static and as you say, doesn’t quite work.
I think the performance polish and the technical stuff like mixing aren't as good as it will be at Eurovision because Moldovan national selection is lower budget and smaller compared to many countries so I think it's gonna be amazing in the actual show.
Song is decent, singer is amazing (returning from 2007, getting 10 in the semi but also 10th in the final, which is amazing) but staging/choreo is really bad. They need to revamp the staging and choreo, but Moldova's national tend to be kinda low budget.
I can't help, but apply your comments (how you like a group on stage, harmony of vocals, violins, coordinated dance moves, hands movement) to Estonia's act 😂 just visioning it in my head. Moldova this year is rather dissappointing. I like the idea, but the execution is letting them down, i also don't like her voice, and how she sings: she sounds struggling and off at some points. Last year's song was my favourite, still listening to Pasha Parfeni.
This reaction was almost impossible to watch to be honest I agree the staging isn't perfect and seems a little bit poorly rehearsed, but you've been fixated on it SO MUCH and paused the video for a zillion times to point it out It was irritating I respect your opinion It's just that you could get over things you don't like much easier and smoother, so we could watch the actual video of the performance a little bit more.
There are not 5 women singing or playing, it is 1 woman singing and playing and 4 replicants, it is a threatical expression saying that the only real thing is right IN THE MIDDLE, as the song is entitled. Why you don’t get that?
I think that this is probably quite a good song, but I find the performance, production and arrangement to be so flat that it is probably my least favourite of this year's entries.
Sadly Moldova didn’t go without scandal, then this woman was singing half way in the song, the jury announced her a winner of Eurovision competition, Soviet style, like last year Polish voiceless Bianca’s father bought her ticket to the Eurovision final
Natalia Barbu also represented Moldova at Eurovision in 2007 with the song Fight and I believe she placed 10th in the final
I think they (backing singers) are supposed to be her reflection
I believe the same, they all look alike and have the same movements
Basically the whole concept of the staging is that the other females are “copies” of Natalia (the middle singer) and that’s why the other girls are reproducing every move of her (even the lyrics so it seems like lyp syncing).
And at the beginning I think you’re talking about Denmark’s performance.
Moldova are usually great at creative staging, so hopefully they’ll give this a big revamp for the finals!
Every element of the staging and every movement is intentional
It’s a very rehearsed entry with a lot of thought put into it
I find it very impactful and original
Here the same, but I am frustrated of the simplistic points of view that do not have the sensibility to perceive the evident. But well.
They are doing this as performance because of mirroring. 'mirror' is one of the keywords.
what a joy to hear this....love this entry.
100% agree with you; Natalia is great, but there are too many people on the stage without a purpose 90% of the song
I’ve watched a lot of reaction videos and you are the first to mention the staging issues. This insight is why you are my favourite!
Denmark is the country that overdubbed their performance. I have no idea why they did that, her live performance was great as it was!
It wasn't really too great, she sounded very pitchy especially on the low notes, but I'd rather listen to that than the studio version again...
Wow! I didn't know that, shame on them. no wonder I'm not a fan of that song.
At least the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's upload now clearly labels it as a "studio mix", whereas the performances of the 7 other finalists are labelled as being "live".

Agree with you on the staging. This awesome song and voice needs great staging.
I like the song, but this year not many people show enough love to Moldova , hope they can go to the final!!

This song have a big potential. I can imagine what powerful will be in big stage in Malmo
I love this song so much! I love the 5 girls, I think it is cool.
Denmark is that country, that has the studio version over the live. But you can search for the original one too
Georgina, this was all over the place 😂
It's her reflection those girls in her background. Looks very interesting for me!

They supposed to be copying her movements exactly, including copying lip movements.
POLAND! :)

Denmark overdubbed all the videos on UA-cam. If you need the live broadcasted version, I can send it to you :)
Raja's reaction to the songs of a singer in the Middle East called Samira Said
Hi, from Sicily Italy! 😊
File under Vocal Gymnastics. What an intricate song to perform. There seems to be a lot of ambience in the track so maybe all the mics were live for the violin section? (The bows need attached lasers!)

❤
I guess they'll have a lot more budget in Eurovision.
She's also married to a millionaire so...even more budget
I'am from Finland and i'am very mad picouse Windows 95 winned
I thought they were actually replicas of her, but the harmonies didn't come through until the last part of the song.I'm not sure how strongly I like it. She can sing but I'll listen some more
those 3 ladies in the back was dancers and they were just moving lips but only one was a backing singer ( girl on the left side )
Now it's time for Lithuania please!
She’s amazing. She participated in 2007 with a powerful song called Fight.
In the recent years Moldova was great. This year thecsong it's interesting, but I don't know if they will qualify this year in the Grand Final.
Hey Georgina what accent u have ? English not my mother lang ao im curious
I actually like this kind of static choreography. Makes it kind of unique in the competition. The lip synching never bothered me. I think there's still plenty of time to perfect this.
Germany?
So sorry if she dont sing live...😢
I actually think it’s intentional that they are lip syncing, since they are dressed like the singer and copying her, but trouble is it’s a bit confusing and static and as you say, doesn’t quite work.

Greatest reaction ever 😅 laughed so hard 😅😅
Story .............. going on
🤔

This is cool. Although not well produced. Moldova however always surprises with quality stuff. Just not winning stuff though.
Okay but realistically they dont play the instruments live anyway on the big stage!
This reaction was almost impossible to watch to be honest

Totally agree

Way to static

Its not the best moldovan entry.
