Glad you enjoyed our demo. Point taken on the harpsichord…though that instrument is definitely useful in a worship setting or for Baroque period music. Remember, you can load up the Nord Piano 2 with any combination of pianos, electric pianos, or other instruments you like. Don't want harpsichords? Replace them with more grand pianos, upright pianos, Rhodes, or Wurli…it's your choice. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)793-3368
Its my favorite brand ! Nord bring more than 10 acoustic pianos sounds differents (Baby grands : Steinway, Yamaha , Bosendorfer , Uprights : Yamaha, Ostin, Petrof and others ) . All are great , beautiful and sampled with higth quality ! Another brands brings 1 or 2 acoustic pianos.
Great demo! What I love about this keyboard the most is the easy accessible real-time control - Instead of multiple button pressing. And, of course the weight unlike like the Kronos - which is also a great keyboard but impractical because of it's back breaking weight! I don't understand why companies keep loading in harpsichords though - Not exactly a popular sound you hear on any albums!
This is a very well sounding piano, best I have heard. This is from their library , and youll see one Grand in different sizes. Italian Grand Faz XL 5.3 npno 182,1 MB Italian Grand Faz Lrg 5.3 npno 97,3 MB Italian Grand Faz Med 5.3 npno 81,5 MB Italian Grand Faz Sml 5.3 npno 48,9 MB
Can you show how to program splits and layers? It would be very helpful if Nord created the software management system to create layers and splits as you need.
i'm torn between two piano right now...I'm looking to upgrade but don't know whether to purchase the Nord Ha88 or Roland RD 800...I like composing symphonic compositions using strings and orchestral sounds...I test played the Roland RD 800 and loved it...But would really like to try out the Nord as well before making a $2,500 + decision.
Hey Corey I'm in the same boat! I love the Roland rd 800 just played it again today at guitar center. But I love Nords sound. I just wonder how the keybeds compare. For me that's gonna be the deal breaker.
Hi, you're right! This is a great video. I'm looking for a very stable stand. This one you have seem quite nice and effective. What's the mark or the model? Thank you; I don't like feeling my piano shaking when I play.

We're using an On-Stage KS7350 keyboard stand…it's one of my favorites and it's very stable. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Funny how you're using a "real" stand (the On-Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy-Duty Z-Stand) but it's bundled with a craptastic X stand. X stands should be discontinued entirely since Kraft, guitar center and Sweetwater all try and bundle heavy boards with them to keep the price the same. Dare to be different and bundle a quality keyboard with a quality stand and save the X stands for people that prefer walmart casios.
Point taken. The KS7350 is a more solid stand and I enjoy using it for our video demos. To be fair though, we DO bundle the KS7350 in our Nord Piano 2 COMPLETE STUDIO BUNDLE. We try to incorporate heavy-duty stands like the KS7350, KS7150, and Quiklok WS550 when it makes sense. Remember, any of our bundles can be customized to fit your preferences…just contact a Kraft Music team member for options. Kraft Music Ok. Thanks. The Radial DI box is part of what I'm talking about. Thanks for that. The signal chain matters, and it's good to find out what it really is. Do you mind me asking which DI you used? I know Radial has a pretty huge product line. While we're at it. What WOULD you use if you were playing live. The sound here is great. I'd just like to get close to that, even live, if possible, but I obviously don't know much about keyboard amplification, in the real world, that is.
Sure, we use a Radial ProD2 stereo direct box, sounds really clean. My recommendation for live keyboard amplification is actually not a dedicated keyboard amp, but rather a pair of powered PA speakers. I think a 12" woofer provides plenty of low end for piano and a great choice would be Yamaha DXR12 speakers (or DSR112 for even better quality). You could also go with QSC K12 or even a powered Mackie SRM450 or Thump 12 for a more budget-friendly option. Feel free to contact us with other questions or to discuss options. Thanks! -Dave
what the heck was that at 6:11-6:12??? Sounded like an out of tune Bflat?? Everything about this keyboard is beautiful, love the Steinway D piano, the resonance is what every digital piano has been missing since it's inception, and the damper noise is a nice feature. But whaaat is that out of tune thing going on there.. ?
For studio or home use, I really like Yamaha HS5 or HS8 monitors. For playing live, check out a powered speaker system like the Yamaha MSR250 or Yamaha DXR12. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)793-3368

Right now I have a Yamaha Clavinova that I compose all of my work on...I'm in dyer need of an upgrade which will be one of the two pianos I mentioned.
Can you show how to program splits and layers? It would be very helpful if Nord created the software management system to create layers and splits as you need.

I think that the Roland 800 would be the best buy...for pianos. But I have to admist that the Nord has some nice strings.
awesome review! I really enjoyed that!
Great demo!!
You can use a harpsichord combined with a piano sound for the song "Killer Queen" by Queen! That's the best use of a harpsichord I've found so far.
Thank you so much for this video.
but those rhodes are just 2nd to none... gave me goosebumps.
Beautiful!
Really a great review.
nice sounds indeed
Really good piano and video.
great work. What is the name the song you're playing in the eighth minute? best regards

Thank you, Man. For such review full of details about the instrument. By the way which device do you use to take sound from the piano?
what are the best monotirs for this nord piano? this is a good demo !! thanks
Can you layer a ride cymbal with the acoustic bass and split the bass and keys on the Nord Piano 2? That's a must have.
You cant' layer anythig or split anythig
Yes you can. I play at my church and do it all the time!
Cameron Morgan Seriously? Didn't know that, sorry for my misleading info!
It's cool. This board does alot. Gotta love the Steinway D tho!
Cameron Morgan How can you not?
Roughly how many sounds can you have in the Nord Piano 2 at once? I know you have 500mb, but how many of the high quality sounds is that?
Beautiful presentation! Which i choose nord piano ou Kawai MP7. Someone can help me?
Is it necessary the piano is connected to computer? O with monitors is enough?
I can download all the sounds of nord library sample and piano?
What's the Bach-style piece which is played at 14:25? thank you
but.. can you load nord's organ sounds into it?? It's got everything but the organs. Guess we have to look at the electro for that.
You can't load the organ sounds
I think its great with Harpsichords within the pianos :)
Hello and thank you for the great video! Can you show how to fine pitch in nord piano 2 please? Thank you in advance! Best regards and like :)
Actually it is a Bach piece: French Suite no.1 d minor - Allemande
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed our demo…Chris is a great player and presenter. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Is there a keyboard model similar to Nord keyboards that perform similar functions but are much cheaper?
torg I wish!
What is the artist/title of the very first piano piece played on this demo? A couple of people have already asked but can't see an answer. Calling Chris Martinaro. Please .. we are in agony .. what is it?
It's an improvisation.
I don't think it's an improvisation, it's seems Rambo 1* soundtrack, before the famous theme
Sounds like a bunch of arpeggios to me......
steve dos I think you nailed it. I heard the same thing.
I wish nord would make their products less complicated. But meen that sound
Bang your Drum by Wolf Parade has harpsichord. Check it out, it's very unique!
The first song that is playing what is the title/artist of that song?
I think he's just messing with 4th intervals and shifting with fourths harmonically. its a lot like McCoy tyner's playing
does this ha88 have a decent ( if any ) Hammond B3 sound?
+ironman0000 not really. a few samples, but really need the stage or electro for those sounds.
We're using an On-Stage KS7350 keyboard stand…it's one of my favorites and it's very stable. Thanks for watching!

What is being used for amplification, speakers, etc.?
I think the audio is directly recorded from the Nord's output
luca bosi So, a line-in into the camera?
I'm interested in keyboard amplification. If it's not a line-in, I'd like to know.
That's correct. It's line out of the Nord into the camera, by way of a Radial DI box. Thanks for watching!

that riff at 8:20 tho.

Shame about other instruments in the background
