The Potato Bridge was formerly located upon Weathertop, in the Midlands, and under which Mr. Sam Gamgee irresponsibly lit a fire for fry-up, including bacon and PO-TAY-TOES, bringing all manner of danger upon himself and his traveling companions. It was subsequently relocated to its current location as part of a council improvement plan. Along with nice shrubbery.
Awake too early, rough start, gloomy outside...perfect morning for catching up on cruises! Enjoyed all 3 of the newest videos. I appreciate you grinding through the old footage when you can. Cheers!
I find each one of these videos you are finally publishing to be enchanting. They have timeless quality. Thank you for sharing the completeness of your grand adventure. It is a cultural treasure trove.
LOL at the outtakes. Not ugly, don't listen to him! You guys entertain me so much. So glad you are back to putting out videos. I really missed your cruising vlogs.
When I was an undergrad, the Mathematics students would walk from Cambridge to that place you visited, sometime before the start of April. So they called it the March March March…
Well that was a lovely trip. We had a great holiday this year in Stoke Ferry, beautiful area. We will definitely be going back. So love that area. Thank you.
Great Video. Brought back many happy memories of years living on The Fens at Ramsey Forty Foot. March used to have a Brass Band. The March Railway Silver Band.
I had a friend at school who confused me by saying that he had been born in March in April. I was around 11 or 12 at the time and had no idea that there was a town called March!
Thank you for that! I've had such a rough morning and a cruise with my favorite narrowboat couple was just what I needed. The baskets across the bridge there in March are absolutely beautiful and made a lovely backdrop. It's funny - y'all don't know what you're doing next, but we do. It's sort of like being able to see the future! Thanks again, Jo - as always I look forward to ever video.
Glad that you liked Benwick, my home, however I'm not considered local as I've only lived there for 45 years! In the summer that stretch of water can get very busy some days I've seen up to a dozen boats go past my house. The old railway yard at Banks Farm was fenced off like that after several burglaries and vandals setting light to the buildings. So the owner had good reasons for doing it.
Nice to see March again after 20 years - sweet little town! I visited it every year for 10 years in my repping days and driving through the wide open local fenland scenery would always take my breath away on a beautiful sunny day. I waxed lyrical about it to a customer there once and he said it bored him to tears. So I suppose for some, familiarity - even with beautiful landscapes - breeds contempt.
So very good to see you both. Personally I am desperate to see the renovation of your home and to hear about more recent activity. It's worth being patient however to spend at least some time with you whatever the date.
Funny seeing my father in laws mooring at Benwick and you passed a beautifil boat called River Cottage, which was for sale in March recently. Its my dream interior and would have loved her, but timings wrong for us at the moment.
Little boys with big toys 😂 I did crack up at your outtake. When I’m videoing I get a helicopter or a jet, in a lot of places. They’d give that motorbike a run for his money. 😂 hope you guys are well. Take care Love from down under. ❤️❤️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Always good to see a cruising video from you two. Kind of a random thought occurred to me as you were talking about Benwick. Since you've had the chance to spend time, shop, wander about, etc in different sized towns and cities, has that made you think about what type and size town you would prefer living in if you decide to experiment with solid land again?
You can't get entry to Banks Farm, that location. There's a high six foot chain link fence with a similarly clad gate. You used to have access but the farm owner closed it off after suffering several burglaries and vandals setting buildings alight. By the way that area used to be the railway station.
Do you dream of being back on the rivers, canals and navigations now that you’re not doing this anymore? I think I would start dreaming about it after having this as part of my life for as long as you did it for!
I bought a number of maps from Michael and Jo just a few days ago. I also bought earrings and a mug of the waterways with Minimal List logo. Surprise the mug just came today, that was fast. I have other narrowboat channels I watch and felt the maps would help me understand where people are going and where they came from. I added extra to my large order for postage and some as donation.
I love the light at the beginning of this. Simply gorgeous.
Thank you
Good morning it nice binge watching the last few months
Thanks for watching. It’s nice to be finally catching up.
Nice♡ love George such a great dog!

They defiantly intended to use that drain as a stop line in the event of invasion
Looks that way doesn’t it!

Loved Benwick. What a nice place to live.
We this feels like a convention of all the protests and effort made 100+ years ago.
Indeed!

Sorry, I will get to those videos soon.

Oh yes, I remember that boat. Hope she went to some happy new owners and that you get aboard soon!
If I lived in March I would have to have a name plate on my gate that said "The Ides"

Haha, it was quite unnecessary, the noise not the comment!

The outskirts of a tiny village with a rail connection would be perfect.
Got a Done you could check out with and it fly up 20Ft drain
What we need is a drone and a camera person!
The threat of "legal action" is an empty one -as long as you don't damage anything.

@@tonycamplin8607 It's an easily climbable fence.
Not with a George!

Not at the moment. I will try and rectify that soon!
