► FAQ
Q• Why are you uploading cruising videos and renovation videos at the same time.
A• As of October 2021 we have finished our journey to visit every waterway on the connected system but we still have a back lock of videos to edit. For this reason we are uploading a cruising video each week till we finish the journey. In November 2021 we started a project to renovate our Narrowboat and as there was a lot of interest in is filming this we decided to alternate the renovations with the old cruising videos. We also aim to get one renovation video up each week until the cruising videos are finished.
Q• Why do you speed up some of the footage in your videos?
A• We don't, we film it as time-lapse footage. We do not have the battery capacity or data storage to film in real time as our cruises can last up to 7 or 8 hours. We use to the time-lapse footage to help tell the story of movement rather than showcase the scenery. We limit the amount of time-lapse shots we use in each vlog.
Q• Why are your video's so behind?
A• We would love to release all our video's in the same week that we film them but that isn't possible for us. Jo only really has the capacity to edit two video's per week and as we make a video for each cruise that we do and we some times cruise 3 or 4 or 5 times a week we inevitably get behind. We fit in the vlogs around our lives not the other way round.
17:01 vernacular translation is probably "don't let the bastards get you down". good to keep in mind when reading youtube comments.
Often used when I was working when referring to the latest marvel from management.
Thank you
♡ enjoyed ty
"Five and a half miles out to see a bridge we knew we couldn't go under and five and half miles back again." Perfect! Thanks for sharing your explorations with us. Much appreciated.
Sounds crazy when you put it like that.
The concrete structure you thought might be a pumping station was actually a swimming baths! The structiure was the changing rooms etc. Very popular in the summer months. Closed when the pool opened in the centre of March.
That's interesting. I was wondering if it might be a bunkering point for the barge (Shellfen) that was used to deliver fuel oil to the diesel pumping stations (until the 1970s).
So nice to see a video of you folks underway! Since the Foxes are no longer Afloat but farming somewhere in Scotland I don't see too many narrow boat videos. Best wishes from an icy Central Michigan...
So my spouse and I have been catching up on your cruising videos after seeing your holiday greetings. I kept saying "haven't we seen this one?". When Jo pointed out Sewage Farm Bridge, we knew that we had since the term was fixed in our memories!
"I am a rainbow, a sunny, sunny rainbow" You both certainly brighten up the day, taking us to parts of the system rarely seen :)
Micheal, love the t shirt, I mean I really love it.
It’s my favourite too!
for those low bridges let a little air out of the tires lol. need some ballast tanks to make it a submarine. have a good one. love the trips
Would have to block up the though holes too. Not to mention the windows and the doors
Perfect day for it!
It was beautiful!
HEY YALL... great to see yall again !
Thank you!
Tnank you
Great video, another journey into the unknown. Perseverance truly is the canal version of the Star Ship Enterprise. "Boldly going where no one (Or very few) have been before! The big advantage you have over the Enterprise is. You have a *George* They have to make do with a "Geordi La Forge" 🤔😉👍
They had a George (Takei) in the original :)
good vid on cut thanks lee
"Illegitimi non carborundum"... Don't let the bastards grind you down. It's the old bump 'n' grind, y'see. Or not.
Another chapter in your version of "There and back again"
One of many!
Very pleasant relaxing video again. I would like to know which idiot allowed the construction of a bridge that boats can’t get under. Bonkers planning.
Seems to me you go 5.5 miles one way, and then 5.5 miles back, seeing the same things - differently. But isn't the journey the point? And now we are in darkest November, nice to see the height of summer again. Happy days.
Awesome video great to see George!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Hi, what happened to the boat renovation video's. 🤔 😔.
Lovely, delightful video. X
You guys have turned into my Cathryn Hepburn, and Humphrey Bogart of the Canals, and the big muddy.
The original quote, or variation of it, is in The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It seemed for a bit there that "Don't let The Michael get you down" would have been appropriate (said with affection). Anyway, thanks again for continuing posts of the journey. I dearly wish the renovations weren't so taxing/vexing on you wonderful people.
What a shame about the bridge. It would really open up the ML if it could be raised and a few more moorings round would make it perfect!
Yeah, it would be great to have an alternative route between Denver and Peterborough
@@MinimalList I'd also like a lock at Ponders Bridge, to reconnect the two halves of Bevill's leam.
Luckily you had a nice scenery:)
See 'The Handmaid's Tale' for that pseudo-Latin phrase.
that low bridge should be demolished and build a new higher one.
"Once a completist, always a completist" 😎
Respect to you Jo for not strangling him in his sleep 🤣
👍
Love Michael’s t-shirt.
Have you any plans to explore the Norfolk Broads? We spend almost all our holidays there, having bought a share in a syndicate boat. That was a good decision!
Hopefully one day but not any time soon unfortunately
Nice ride in the country. Can you see more scenery with the wider channel?
Hi Micheal & Jo, very calming journey again, despite all the windmills and the low bridge. 😂😉Your both funny. I do love your rainbow shirt M. Hope the studying is going well, or is this the winter break. Take care 💜💜🙋♀️🙋♀️
❤
In my pack of hiking friends there are some are serious "Red liners". Every trail has to be traveled and covered on a map in red. I understand the sentiment to a point, I love covering as many trails as possible, but if I discover I've missed a 1/4 mile connecting trail I don't feel the need to hike several miles just to get it. Your approach seems reasonable to me. However, I am surprised you haven't installed a ballast tank so that you can lower Perseverance so that you can fit under more bridges.
Georgie, I'd live in March, on a little long boat .... for real.
Pleasant day for an aimless no stress cruise...
Too bad Persy didn't have a ballast tank you could have filled to get under the bridge.
At what point in your adventure did you decide to cover every inch of the waterways
Pretty much before we started. Michael’s though was, if we’re going going to do this, we’re going to do all of it.
: )
