Tom Marvolo Riddle was born at Wool's Orphanage on New Year's Day and his mother, Merope, (who was secretly a witch of the Gaunt line descended from Slytherin), died shortly afterwards
Riddle was raised in the orphanage, and from an early age, displayed signs of sociopathy and had control over his accidental magic, though he did not know that he was magical back then, and he terrorized children that dare to bully him, one time, he took 2 kids with him to a cave by the seaside for "a vacation" and what happened there traumatized those 2 kids for life though Riddle swore that they only went exploring and were not even harmed
when Riddle was 10 years old, Albus Dumbledore came from Hogwarts to introduce him to the magical world, and immediately, Albus pegged him for someone that needs to be closely watched, Riddle even made a passing remark about how he could speak to snakes as Albus left
Riddle went to attend Hogwarts, but had to return to the orphanage during summer vacation till he was of age
during his time at Hogwarts, he learned that he was Slytherin's descendant and was sorted into Slytherin and he was a model student for most part and even joined Professor Slughorn's Slug Club
during the summer when he was 15 years old, he left the orphanage to find his relatives, he had long believed his father was magical, but eventually realized that his mother was the magical parent, and so he went to find the Gaunts, but all he found was his maternal uncle, Morfin Gaunt, who was too mentally impaired to acknowledge him, Morfin told him about the disastrous love affair between Merope and Tom Riddle Senior
enraged that his father had abandoned his mother just like that, Riddle stunned Morfin and stole his wand and went to the Riddle Manor to confront his father, whom he then killed together with his paternal grandparents with the Killing Curse, and with that murder, he was able to turn the Gaunt ring that he stole from Morfin into a Horcrux
Riddle returned to school and asked Slughorn about the theory of Horcrux and Slughorn reluctantly discussed with him in small detail about it
Riddle then opened the Chamber of Secrets and accidentally killed Myrtle Warren with the basilisk, he used this murder to turn his diary into a horcrux and then framed Hagrid for the killing
after he graduated, Riddle initially wanted the Defense professor's job, but was told to get more experience first, so he became a bargaining clerk at Borgin and Burkes
during one bargain meeting with a client named Hepzibah Smith, he learned that Smith was a descendant of Hufflepuff and had been keeping both a cup belonging to Hufflepuff that was a family heirloom and a locket that belonged to Slytherin that she bought from Burkes, who in turn bought it from "a ragged looking woman", Riddle killed Smith for the locket and the cup and used this murder to turn the cup into a horcrux
Riddle then went around spreading fear and creating some more Horcruxes before he went to Hogwarts for the Defense job again, but Albus, who was now Headmaster refused to hire him on the suspicion that Riddle just wanted to use the position to recruit more Death Eaters, so Riddle cursed the position and caused Defense professors to change year after year, he also made sure to hide the Diadem of Ravenclaw that had become a Horcrux inside the Room of Requirement
Riddle then gave the diary to the Malfoys and the cup to Mrs. Bellatrix Lestrange, who kept it inside the Lestrange vault at Gringotts, the locket was hidden in the cave where he traumatized 2 kids, the ring was hidden in the remains of the Gaunt home
Riddle had wanted to use the murder of Harry Potter to make his final Horcrux, but he failed to kill Harry due to Lily's sacrifice
after he regained a grotesque physical form, Riddle killed Bertha Jorkins to turn Nagini, his snake familiar, into a horcrux
