Great Video! On US-41, I would like to see the National Ski Hall of Fame in Ishpeming, Michigan. Fun fact: Ishpeming is the birthplace of organized skiing in the USA.
Nice to see you in Colorado! Hope to see more Colorado roads in the future! In regards to the NW Parkway my understanding is that road was built by a private company and the toll authority is private as well and I believe that is why there is no state route number asigned to it. There was plans to extend the NW Parkway to C-470 & I-70 in Golden but that likely will never happen. In fact originally it was suppose to all just be I-470 and be a full beltway around Denver when they started building C-470 but opposition to the feeeway broke it up into the partial loop and multiple routes we have today. As far as Limon control cities go I think E-470 is the most egregious of them all!
I live in east Denver right off of I-70 and I work at the airport. I see Limon signs every single day lol. Doesn’t bother me much. Guess I’m just used to it 😂
Pricey road, I usually avoid it when I'm out there for that reason, although the C470 is pretty scenic as it rides the foothills towards Golden. If you could include County Road Z in Marinette County, WI on your upcoming 41 North video (perhaps a shoutout for Patti's Platter at the junction - great food!), that would be awesome!
@@ControlCityFreak whoops, little brain fart there. As for 41, I’d request Mickey-Lu Bar-B-Q in Marinette, WI. Highly recommend their burgers for anyone passing thru.

Regarding 6th Avenue being US 6, the portion of 6th Avenue that is at/near freeway standards is often called "the 6th Avenue Freeway". That segment, though, is only about 8 miles long, and 6th Avenue continues both west and east beyond where it overlaps with US 6.
For US 41, I'd recommend starting where I-69 ends just south of Henderson. That's basically the dividing line of where US 41 is a four lane highway all the way to Chicago (outside of the SR 63 section in Central Indiana). South of there, it's mostly a two-lane rural scenic route to at least Nashville. If you want to see the future tie-in of I-69 in Henderson in street view check here: 37°50'41.2"N 87°33'57.9"W For an intersection, I'd like to see US 41/Barker Road in Henderson where I used to turn off the road to see my grandparents.
U.S. 41 should be a very good video. In keeping with the NFL cities theme, it’ll pass within close proximity to 4 stadiums: Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Soldier Field in Chicago and Lambeau Field in Green Bay;,Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa are too far out.
14:02 I agree with most of your way it should be but I would change “Fort Collins” to “Fort Collins/Boulder” because Boulder needs to be signed from I-76 WB. People coming from Nebraska would not go all the way down to 470 to get to Fort Collins
Woo US-41! The "exit" I have in mind might be a bit weird. Between Oconto and Peshtigo here in Wisconsin, there's a "geographical marker" that denotes the 45th parallel, a bit short of halfway between the equator and the North Pole. It used to be accessible from both directions of traffic, but when they upgraded US 41 to a 4-lane expressway, now it can only be accessed by the southbound side. (There's a similar marker on US 141 too at the actual halfway point.) (Also, fun extra fact: before the bypass, US 41 through Oconto was the last section to not be at least 4 lanes through all of Wisconsin. Now we have the bypass, which has such tight curves near the WIS 22 exit that it feels just a bit uncomfortable (although I'm sure there's worse spots on other highways)).
@jaykebird2go Oregon does the same thing along their major highways. The biggest one is along I 5 in Salem. As for other 45ty parallel points, I don’t think I saw one along I 94 in Minneapolis. I think it’d be a nice touch to feature these along all parallels and perpendiculars. P.S. Wisconsin is special in that it has a 45x90 point in or near Wausau if I’m not mistaken…

(For southbound specifically, please mention that exiting here and taking Wisconsin highway 26 to US-151 is quicker to Madison than taking I-41 to US-151. As such, I would have Madison listed for the southbound exit.). 2) Exit 120 for US-45. Exit I would take to New London when I was attending school in Oshkosh. Mention for northbound that if one was to get to Wausau from Milwaukee, it would be faster to take US-45 here than to drive to the I-41/US-10 interchange. As such, signing Wausau here would make sense for northbound (and northbound specifically). 3) Exit 139 for WI-15. Exit closest to New London, WI if coming from Appleton.
0:32 - I vaguely remember the mall in Westminster. There was also a drive-in theatre just off I-25 on 88th Street in Thorton. It was no longer in operation in '90, but still standing. 8:30, Boulder makes kind of sense, as if the beltway is ever completely finished (with the section from Golden to Broomfield/Superior), this will be the best route to Boulder from the west. I believe it was mentioned by others, but the reason the Northwest Parkway is separate from E/C 470 is it was built at a different time using different funding sources (which also explains the different toll rate). And yes, the toll section of this beltway is very underused, mostly due to the high cost, and the fact that it is an all-electronic toll collection system makes it less desirable to use, as many potential users are drivers in rental cars picked up at Denver International, and as Express Toll is not compatible with EZPass, forces these drivers to use the surcharge laden toll programs offered by rental car companies if they want to drive it, which only adds to the congestion on I-70 and I 225.
11:26 This sign is even more ridiculous going northbound on I-25. In fact, one of the top in the ridiculous category, with I-25 south at the 470, and the two on I-76 westbound at 470 and at I-270.
2:58 I have a brother named Brighton who moved up to Colorado and lived there for a few years, although he didn't move to Brighton, CO, he moved to Aurora, but still interesting nonetheless.
"Aurora doesn't have 300/400,000 people, there's no airport. Yeah, Limon definitely the right place to sign. Idiots" Geez Tood, tell them how you really feel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@vdubproductions2646 Except DEN isn’t in Aurora. In fact, it’s not even in Adams County (the northern parts of Aurora). It is technically within the city and county of Denver. This isn’t a recent development; it’s been this way since at least the 90’s.
@dazzlefizzle1266 I think it’d be nice to have 255 in there as well (including the State Route to Alton). It’d still be possible to do the clockwise/counterclockwise routing.
Must be Pena Blvd accessing the airport has its own set of rules. First, it uses Colorado Springs for 470 south, instead of the L word (like you see on I-76). And it uses the Clearview font, which you never see in Colorado.
@shaynestephens It sounds like the tolls are being put to more important uses. I may not like the high gas taxes levied by Washoe County (where I live), but at least they do seem to go to decent road maintenance (and signs too!), mostly after our increasingly erratic winters.
You’re a Bears fan? Cause I’m also a Bears Fan. Well, I’m a Bears/Bucs Fan. Anyways, For US 41 can you do the Exit for Navy Pier and show Navy Pier from the Highway? Reason is because I went there a while back with my family, and got a US 66 Magnet from there. Sadly I lost the magnet, but I still had a blast.
@@ControlCityFreak That’s cool. The reason why I’m a Bears fan is because my Mom is from Chicago. Her entire family still lives there, and we go and visit them every year.
I think you should rethink your “inner/outer loop” branding in favor of “clockwise/counterclockwise “. During your NFL themed schedule, you’re inevitably going to get to Houston, where “inner loop” and “outer loop” are going to refer to different highways entirely. And Houston isn’t the only Texas city with *genuine* “inner” loops and “outer” loops…
Interesting fact.. Part of the some of the Child interstates in New York State (ex I 690 and I 481 in Syracuse NY where I live) are Interstates for part of thier run and New York State highways for the remainder of thier run...
@tomtbi I also know of 238 in the East Bay, 110 in Los Angeles, 210 in the Inland Empire, and 15 in San Diego. Honorable mention goes to 215 in Las Vegas (County Road).
To use the interstate shield, it has to be part of the Interstate Highway System. Colorado tried to get that designation for the entire 470 beltway, but was unable to obtain it.
Haven’t put forth my list of musical acts from Denver (8 counties and 2 city-counties), so here goes: India.Arie The Fray The Lumineers Flobots Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind and Fire) Nathaniel Rateliff The Gamits Cephalic Carnage Jill Sobule Velvet Acid Christ Sugarloaf Bonus for Boulder (it clips into the county): Anti-Scrunti Faction Firefall Leftover Salmon Big Head Todd and the Monsters Yonder Mountain String Band 3OH!3 Only really know of four from Denver (I know of Flobots and their ‘Handlebars’ song), and the last of the acts from Boulder (I lived there for four years while my dad was working on his PhD at CU Boulder; 303 is the area code for Boulder, as a fun fact)
These really should have been interstates, but public opposition to freeways being built canceled the plans for I-470. Colorado DOT ended up building the freeways anyways because of population growth in the area. Also, LIMON!
@@dvferyancethe toll road wasn't even built by the state. it was funded through bonds (and a now-retired additional vehicle registration fee), and them bonds probably ain't gonna be paid off this CENTURY .... so it will probably NEVER be turned over to the state to be made I-470. and a former Colorado governor is responsible for the C470 corridor NOT getting the I-470 designation.
Outbound - Las Vegas, Kansas City, Omaha, Fort Collins still (bigger than Cheyenne), Colorado Springs still (big in it's own right, like Tucson). Inbound on all - Denver.
@@ControlCityFreak Interesting, if they signed Las Vegas and Kansas City from Denver, the distance to each city would easily beat out the distance between El Paso and San Antonio on 10 in Texas, and that 70 West Las Vegas in Denver would probably be the most distant control city sign in the US (save for novelty signs).
What's better than Limon? Washington Douglass Common wealth ~2,000 miles C470 ends at C93 which goes north to boulder and can hit NW parkway. C470 is better than E470 though
@jordanjones5751 I still don’t know which city it’ll be in. Everyone on the channel is saying Frankfurt (specifically Frankfurt am Main to differentiate from another “Frankfurt” on the Polish border: Frankfurt an der Oder), but according to Wikipedia’s list of NFL stadiums, the only one in Germany is in Munich (there’s two others in London, one in Mexico City, and one in Canton only 40% the size of the next smallest stadium).
@newflyer2198 At this very moment, I think it should be Manhattan (135k metro, not overwhelmingly smaller than the 235k metro of Topeka). However, I’m open to amending this to Salina the second it crosses 50k city (of which it is currently VERY close to). It’s still going to be one of the desolate Interstate stretches regardless, comparable with Billings-Bismarck, but still less than Reno-Salt Lake or El Paso-San Antonio…
Kansas could be the best choice; right now it’s Limon then after CO-86, Hays is on the bottom line (used to be signed for Salina until the border); Hays is a college town (and it’s where I’m from) but has no overhead sign at all unlike Salina (which stupidly is also taking down some of their overhead signs for some reason)
While it would make sense today, there was a huge uproar against I-470 in the '60s. I kinda doubt CDOT has any interest in making it into I-470 anytime soon, especially E-470.
I had no idea that Kansas City would be playing Denver again this soon (wasn’t the last one only two weeks ago?), so now I guess everything is back on schedule. CW: Thornton-DEN-Aurora East-Highlands Ranch-Golden/Boulder CCW: Highlands Ranch-Aurora East-DEN-Thornton-Broomfield/Boulder As a beltway, I tend to prefer to focus on communities ON the beltway (excluding the ends, which have logical continuations), not the primaries on the Interstates. I was debating whether to include Lakewood along the west end, but only ONE exit is in Lakewood (and even then, it’s quite a ways out from the heart of the city), and it’s much better served by U.S. 6 (6th Ave is the name of a surface street that runs just south of downtown Denver, the freeway just happens to supplant the road west of I 25). As for Highlands Ranch, the fact that it isn’t incorporated is inconsequential to me; a population of 105k is bigger than anything else in the southwest, including Littleton and Centennial. As much as we love to bag on Limon, it IS a long haul to anywhere of ideal size headed into the Plains. The first ideal community by my standards is Manhattan (135k metro), but Salina is (as of early this year) VERY close to the 50k city population threshold distinguishing metros and micros, so the second Salina officially has more than 50k in the city limits, I’d be willing to give it the green light for eastbound traffic leaving the Front Range.
@benjaminchandler7919 You are 100% right, but for the 100% wrong reasons. Columbine itself gives me the jitters for several very specific reasons: my father and younger brother (who was born one hour away in Boulder just two months post) have the same first names of the perpetrators (down to the spelling), and my mother’s name begins with the same letter as one of the last names (I’m the only one without any related nomenclature in my immediate family). I really don’t like the idea of places being only attributed to undesirable events. A case could *potentially* be made for Waco because of 1993, but people generally don’t know Oklahoma City because of 1995 or (something Todd would likely know everything about) Kansas City because of 1981. Hell, even Todd doesn’t think 1777 is enough to justify the glorification of Valley Forge…
Golden has a university, an internationally famous company, and is probably the 3rd most famous city in the region after Boulder and Denver itself. Plus it’s actually on the route. CO 93 is mainly a 2 lane highway. Northbound 25 traffic bound for Boulder is probably taking 25 to 36 anyway.
@@ControlCityFreak Boulder doesn’t have a university? What about UC-Boulder? With 38,000 students, it has more than 5 times as many as Golden’s Colorado School of Mines. It may be shown as the control city in anticipation of one day completing the loop.
Not saying it doesn’t. If Boulder were on 70, or if traffic from the south or east (where most of the population is coming from at this point) were more likely to take this route to Boulder over using 36 from downtown, then yeah Boulder all the way. Situationally, it doesn’t make sense.

Just starting the video. Can’t wait for LIMON!
Not seeing much Limon enthusiasm. Todd looks like he’s Limon’d out.
2:58 I have a brother named Brighton who moved up to Colorado and lived there for a few years, although he didn't move to Brighton, CO, he moved to Aurora, but still interesting nonetheless.
And people say PA tolls are bad
Exit 16 on mountain pkwy KY
Thanks! Will include, but it'll probably be 2-3 years before I get to that road.
I love Todd's creek lol
Should be based in Limon
"Aurora doesn't have 300/400,000 people, there's no airport. Yeah, Limon definitely the right place to sign. Idiots"
Geez Tood, tell them how you really feel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@vdubproductions2646 Except DEN isn’t in Aurora. In fact, it’s not even in Adams County (the northern parts of Aurora). It is technically within the city and county of Denver. This isn’t a recent development; it’s been this way since at least the 90’s.
Legit lol'd at "idiots".
are you planning to make a video for i 270 (st louis)?
At some point yeah
@dazzlefizzle1266 I think it’d be nice to have 255 in there as well (including the State Route to Alton). It’d still be possible to do the clockwise/counterclockwise routing.
Limon!!!!
@ControlCityFreak Once again, I would to recommend US 287 with its Montana-Texas length. Whenever that happens, i will donate to the patreon!
Probably save that one for Chiefs-Broncos next year
@@ControlCityFreak makes sense
Special guest appearance of Limon.
Kind of surprised the toll on that one sign wasn't $4.1999.
Ha!
What’s up with the signs at I-25 and E/C-470?
Are you going all the way up US 41 to the Keewinaw Peninsula?
Yep! Street View is terrible up there though.
I missed Todd's Limon rants.
Colorado seems to really hate beautiful downtown aurora
What downtown? It doesn't have one.
Must be Pena Blvd accessing the airport has its own set of rules. First, it uses Colorado Springs for 470 south, instead of the L word (like you see on I-76). And it uses the Clearview font, which you never see in Colorado.
OHH NOO BACK TO PA🤣🤣
Why not Boulder clockwise, and Airport Road Aurora dually signed EB from 25?
They charge so much for tolls and the sign at time 6:43 is in very poor shape with the shields and print peeling off.
Yep, my whole family is from Chicago. Super Bowl XX is the first football game I remember watching. Thanks, will definitely add that exit!
@@ControlCityFreak That’s cool. The reason why I’m a Bears fan is because my Mom is from Chicago. Her entire family still lives there, and we go and visit them every year.
Limon 😂😂😂😂😂
Can you make a video about MA route 2
Colorado really mentioned both mine and Todd's name from the 470's! Although the spelling of my name is with a -ylan and not with an -illon
🍿🌮🌭🥞 ready
I think you should rethink your “inner/outer loop” branding in favor of “clockwise/counterclockwise “.
During your NFL themed schedule, you’re inevitably going to get to Houston, where “inner loop” and “outer loop” are going to refer to different highways entirely. And Houston isn’t the only Texas city with *genuine* “inner” loops and “outer” loops…
Meh, I’ll do 610 in when the Chiefs play them in 2025 and then I’m good until 2028.
Your favorite town Limon lol
Interesting that 470 is a state highway rather than an interstate..
interesting stories as to WHY that is so, too ....
Would something if E-470 use the interstate shield rather than it's It's own
To use the interstate shield, it has to be part of the Interstate Highway System. Colorado tried to get that designation for the entire 470 beltway, but was unable to obtain it.
Make Sure You Do I-376 In Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
Chiefs play Pittsburgh next year, probably do it then
Limon again 😅
Haven’t put forth my list of musical acts from Denver (8 counties and 2 city-counties), so here goes:
India.Arie
The Fray
The Lumineers
Flobots
Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind and Fire)
Nathaniel Rateliff
The Gamits
Cephalic Carnage
Jill Sobule
Velvet Acid Christ
Sugarloaf
Bonus for Boulder (it clips into the county):
Anti-Scrunti Faction
Firefall
Leftover Salmon
Big Head Todd and the Monsters
Yonder Mountain String Band
3OH!3
Only really know of four from Denver (I know of Flobots and their ‘Handlebars’ song), and the last of the acts from Boulder (I lived there for four years while my dad was working on his PhD at CU Boulder; 303 is the area code for Boulder, as a fun fact)
76 should be a reasonable North Platte, or Lincoln
Edit: US 136 ends outside Arapharoe, NE at US 6/34 (though a 136 video would be cool
@TheSharkKing45 if AZ or UT were to sigh 76 in Denver, they'd either go with Nebraska or Omaha
Is the Avenue of the Saints a possibility?
Yep!
These really should have been interstates, but public opposition to freeways being built canceled the plans for I-470. Colorado DOT ended up building the freeways anyways because of population growth in the area. Also, LIMON!
I don't know why C470 can't be I-470.
@@dhinton1 yes I get why e470 is not an interstate my comment was about c470
I have a highway request any highway that has Limon in it's the way it should be
So literally just CO 71
That's the highway I request then
I have a question, if Colorado signed control cities the same way Arizona does, how would they be signed?
Outbound - Las Vegas, Kansas City, Omaha, Fort Collins still (bigger than Cheyenne), Colorado Springs still (big in it's own right, like Tucson). Inbound on all - Denver.
@@ControlCityFreak Interesting, if they signed Las Vegas and Kansas City from Denver, the distance to each city would easily beat out the distance between El Paso and San Antonio on 10 in Texas, and that 70 West Las Vegas in Denver would probably be the most distant control city sign in the US (save for novelty signs).
I suppose come February you'll be looking at Clark County 215. Just sayin'.
Yeah or somewhere around there. Hopefully for Chiefs related reasons but the game will be there regardless

What's better than Limon? Washington Douglass Common wealth ~2,000 miles
C470 ends at C93 which goes north to boulder and can hit NW parkway. C470 is better than E470 though
Time for Florida's Turnpike and the Homestead Extension...
Colorado 470 and E470 should have been Interstate 470. I don’t know why it never was signed.
I’m excited about seeing the highway in Germany next week
@jordanjones5751 I still don’t know which city it’ll be in. Everyone on the channel is saying Frankfurt (specifically Frankfurt am Main to differentiate from another “Frankfurt” on the Polish border: Frankfurt an der Oder), but according to Wikipedia’s list of NFL stadiums, the only one in Germany is in Munich (there’s two others in London, one in Mexico City, and one in Canton only 40% the size of the next smallest stadium).
Spoiler alert: Broncos 21 Chiefs 6
Limon SHOULD NOT be signed for I-70 East. At that point I'd just go straight to Kansas City or even Topeka
Stick with Kansas until the state line. Once we reach Colby, sign Salina.
im a fan of control state, kansas
Kansas could be the best choice; right now it’s Limon then after CO-86, Hays is on the bottom line (used to be signed for Salina until the border); Hays is a college town (and it’s where I’m from) but has no overhead sign at all unlike Salina (which stupidly is also taking down some of their overhead signs for some reason)
Toll roads and lanes are avoided by my family. The right to travel shouldn't have a financial element.
LIMON!
Why don’t they just make it I-470?
They probably could on the C-470 section
While it would make sense today, there was a huge uproar against I-470 in the '60s. I kinda doubt CDOT has any interest in making it into I-470 anytime soon, especially E-470.
I had no idea that Kansas City would be playing Denver again this soon (wasn’t the last one only two weeks ago?), so now I guess everything is back on schedule.
CW: Thornton-DEN-Aurora East-Highlands Ranch-Golden/Boulder
CCW: Highlands Ranch-Aurora East-DEN-Thornton-Broomfield/Boulder
As a beltway, I tend to prefer to focus on communities ON the beltway (excluding the ends, which have logical continuations), not the primaries on the Interstates.
Okay, but Columbine is more famous than Highlands Ranch
Golden instead of Boulder? Boulder has 5 times the population, and is probably better known outside of the population of Coors drinkers.
