    Disney is really getting better at cgi now. The hair, the graphics and clothing too!

      I thought that it was trust, often symbolised by giving or receiving a gift, was the only thing capable of fighting the Drun. Therefore, when the Drun takes people's souls, the last thing he could take was their capacity to trust each other. So the stone people raise their hand to show that the last thing left into them before they were petrified was their capacity to trust, the thing the Drun has the most difficult to obtain and thus takes last.

    I found the scene where boon gives his piece turns to stone so emotional. I also found it strange that instead of transforming to the placting cup form, he remains hugging raya. As do the others, as if there trust forms a literal stone like bond.

  • @emionce5504
    @emionce5504 3 роки тому +563

    My interpretation about why the rest of the tribes didn’t go looking for Sisu was that they found it too dangerous to do so. They’ve already lost a lot of their people and the only read way to deflect the enemy (unless you’re fully surrounded by water) is if you have a piece of the gem, which most don’t. Raya does have a gem piece though. That’s just my personal take though.

    • @meganesenpai
      @meganesenpai 3 роки тому +8

      They mean why not go looking for the in the whole 500 year period, or since whenever the myth that she's still alive was born.
      Also, it seems that later on, it only took Raya a few days, weeks at most to travel between all the countries by boat seeking the gems, but why before it took her 6 years to go to all 9 branches of the river?

    • @hilliplays2302
      @hilliplays2302 3 роки тому +16

      @@meganesenpai yeah, I saw those flaws in the movie. It feels like there is a missing piece in the 6 years of searching. Kumandra is not big enough for her to search for it that long. There were also not a lot of water sources in the scroll she stole from Fang. However, this can be tolerated because she only stole the scroll 6 months before she met Sisu as mentioned in the movie, but there should be clues to what she's actually been doing the last 5 & 1/2 years - instead of just searching. Moreover, I dont believe that all of Hart population were turned into stone, so maybe Raya was with them the entire time as they were her subjects. I also think that Chief Virana should be given more screentime in the movie as she actually became a villain towards the end of the movie, but then again, maybe the director thought the scene where she gave the gem piece to Namari was unnecessary and time wasting.

    • @lavane26
      @lavane26 3 роки тому +39

      @@meganesenpai I think it was because in the 500 year period the people probably fell into a false sense of security, and also probably thought that the dragon still being alive was just a myth. They probably didn't think they needed it because as long as the gemstone was safe, they were safe from the Drunn returning. And just like with everything, they didn't learn from the past so they ended up repeating it.

    I can actually answer a few of this things. 1.) Raya told Namari it was Sisu knowing full well Namari wouldnt trust her word. As namari is the first person Raya trusted other then her father and that trust was betrayed. 2.) the clans stayed apart because they got what they wanted a piece of dragon magic and were more interested in protecting their piece then collecting more. This also means that other then fang they had no idea raya was collecting gem pieces. Also everyone believed heart was destroyed. 3.) the overall plot in this movie and avengers end game is a popular plot line used in fables fairy tales and legends so its common to see it through out media and pop culture every now and then. 4.) if look at the surrounding on rayas journey you see remains of stone people caravans and rubbish showing that people did search for Sisu and just never succeeded. And 5.) Most legends leave out big chunks or change important bits as they are told by survivors not wanting to show or admit fault so it make since people would not tell how the druin really came to be.

  • @Adi-369
    @Adi-369 3 роки тому +61

    Maybe other people didn't search for it because Disney wanted to indicate here how truly a heart works because Raya is from the heart part of kumandra, it's emotional, trusts anyone blindly, and when it's scared with betrayal it tries hard to not trust anyone, so yeah basically DISNEY indicated how truly our heart functions emotionally

So when everyone comes back there would likely be a famine that would last a couple years until farming started up again (just wanted to bring it up because they make it out to be a happy ending but in reality it would be much more difficult. I do feel the dragon designs were made entirely for toys which made the powerful scene of Sisu saving Raya and growling and stuff comical because her face was so hilariously over the top cartoony. The design grew on me a little bit but overall it does throw me off. The characters were all very enjoyable I just wish the movie was a tv series so there was more time to develop relationships and stuff. There was never any breathing room which was sad but if I just shut my brain off to enjoy the movie it wasnt too bad.

Raya didn't know until Namaari told her so. But it probably wasn't a true story anyway. Other people may have looked before, but they just wouldn't have found Sisu because they wouldn't have prayed with sincerty in their heart if they were looking out for their own interests. Even Raya only had this sincerity because of her father.

I would like to see a show or even comic come out of it.

      I don’t think it was rushed. I think they did that on purpose.
      This looks like crisis and trauma response.
      Sometimes you don’t have a lot of time to develop things. Especially in crisis.
      Sometimes you have to make split decisions and have faith In that decision. You have to trust people you don’t know or don’t like because your back is against the wall.
      Sometimes those decisions bite you in the butt and sometimes those decisions save people.
      Many couples and friendships have developed in crisis situations. People have an odd way of bonding during trauma.

    I think the reasons that no one else was hunting gem pieces are:
    1) Raya had the means to do it, ie, already being in possession of one of the pieces
    2) People in the other kingdoms had a gem piece, so they were protected and there was no reason to venture outside of their own kingdom. The leaders were happy to look after their own and if one of the citizens had wanted to look for the other pieces then they would have had to steal the gem piece from their kingdom first which they probably couldn’t have done.
    3) Not as big of a reason as lots of people probably had this too but Raya had the motivation to do it as well

Legend of Korra sucked and didn't hold a candle to the original. There were only a small handful of really good episodes, and most of them were season finales. Anyway, I felt like they ruined an already bad series by turning Korra's relationship with Asami romantic. I interpreted the relationship between Korra and Asami to be best friends/sister's at heart throughout the whole series, and felt like the kiss was for show to cater to a specific audience. Personally, I don't think there should have to be a love interest for a movie to be good.

Even with all the thief and crime, it would be safe enough to have a baby, without having to run away from Druun every night. In the movie since we saw the leader of Talon almost killed Sisu by tossing her outside the gates towards the Druun. During that scene we also saw all the other statues out there, implying that they were all of the Talons leaders victims, my best guess is maybe Noi’s parents were tossed out there too at some point. Leaving her orphaned.

      yeah that's a much bigger plot hole with the baby, they needned to flesh that out, an explanation could be it happened recently and maybe her parents we're con artist's being from where they were and she had already learnt the helpless baby routine from them, so in the less than a year that they were gone she was using what her parents taught her, with cartoon logic this would work, but instead you either have to presume something like this yourself or just accept and enjoy the con baby.

      I think you do see the parents come back in from outside that gate, or at the very least a pair of statues stood as a couple, but it's a subtle detail to explain, that her parents were most likely recent victims of the new talon leader i think Kpautin94 hit the nail on the head, with why the baby is still a baby.

    Is it just me, but I feel a big plot hole in the movie is that the Druun are repelled by water and the dragon Pangu could make it rain... like that couldn't have been a tactic to fight the druun instead of becoming stone.

      Call me crazy but... I think powers of the Dragon could be limited. Not only in "what they can do" (like make it rain but no other things) but also in how much and how long they can do it. In other words: that wouldn't really be lasting strategy...

    I’m 99.99% sure people who see them as a couple is be cause of Namaari ‘s hairstyle and the fact that they’re two strong female warriors. It’s funny how people make assumptions based on appearance. Aren’t we past that?

      Of course I’ve heard of that concept but it’s clear & obvious when it’s meant to be that, like in Avatar, 10 Things I hate About You, or Pride & Prejudice, to name a few. By the same token, there’s also a lot of movies where enemies just end up as friends, have you not heard of that?
      Yeah, people may “interpret” this movie in which ever way they want. My point is that the assumption they’re a couple is based on appearance alone because the movie itself does no clearly imply that.

    The similarity between Endgame and Raya is minimal. Raya was a concept well before Endgame came along. While Endgame may have been part of the comics (I have no idea if they were), Raya was still conceived as an idea before Endgame was.

    What I learned watching this video ?
    If you have something in common with a person and you trust him = LGBT.
    That is not what trust and having something in common means.
    Love =/= trust and having things in common !
