I honestly can’t remember when I discovered this, but it was a LONG time ago. Early ‘00s, for sure. Haven’t watched it in ages, but I’m glad it popped up in my feed. Brings back great memories.
I’m sober now but man one of my greatest memories was candy flipping at ultra 2012 and seeing these guys live. I was sitting on a hill overlooking the Miami skyline at about 6pm on a warm summer day. I was lost in my LSD trip and had forgotten that I had taken molly also. I was sitting perfectly between two palm trees as my body suddenly began to feel amazing. As the sensation took over, I looked up and saw a sliver of light coming from the sun setting over the Miami skyline. The light was shining right on me between the two palm trees as birdy nam nam was jamming in the background. Truly an amazing experience and one I’ll never forget
Wasn’t there man but I totally feel you. I would get high at home and just play these guys on vinyl for hours. Just way ahead of there time and never really got the respect they deserved
Nearly 20 years later and I still remember jamming to this when I was 15. Sometimes pieces are so good they live in your heart for decades as if it's the first time you ever listened to them...
that is how perfection sounds.... absolutely stunning. I don't need trance rock or anything else any more... I listen to it when I go to sleep, its sound wakes me up and I want it to continue all my life.
true but just because most electronic live performances aren't like that doesn't mean it didn't require skill to make... Well with softwares and plugins and shit it's clearly easier than mastering and instrument but it you're doing every thing by yourself tho! In classical music only genuises do that I believe
I love how people rush to scoff at EDM, but they think that 80% of the Rock groups composing entire discographies with just 4 chords are "skilled". Laziness and mastery exist in every single music disciplin. Whenever you like it or not.
Tbf, Birdy Nam Nam is one of the most technically impressive DJ groups out there. EDM takes more across the board than people seem to realize, but this is LEAGUES above what most DJs do. Barely anyone spins and scratches anymore, but get 4 people scratching perfectly in time.... that's masterful.
This song will always remind me of my first car and driving it back to my parents hosue in the rain, while contemplating shit... Just me and my thoughts. Thanks Birdy Nam Nam!
C est DJ Pon le plus beau. J avais tous les CD Je les ai vu à Garrorock. Juste parfait.
I don't know why, but this song always creates a particularly odd scene in my head. A slightly elevated snoopy and Juno MacGuff going for a walk, wherever just doing usual stuff like digging up bones and drinking SunnyD, also Edith Piaf is there.. but just for a split second.
I so badly want to collaborate with someone to make something like this but I don't know anyone who gives a shit about turntablism. I'm gonna do it myself, perform and record each section and layer it up to create a whole composition. I'll come back in 2 years when I've got something good. Seeya then.
+tobei47 Naaah, your sister hates just bcuz she doesn't realize how HARD this is :p ! You guys have to keep this in mind, this is Vinyl Turntables, it's not as easy as today...
I can only imagine how many components went into them making this song. They probably had to time it just so. And if I'm not mistaken, I think I hear part of the song in Requiem for a Dream in here.
Simply because in France we don't listen to EDM, which is a mainstream music industry for american and dutch consumers. Our standards are more artsy. French Touch baby!
This shit is your shit. This shit is my shit. From California to shit knows where. In summary and sufficient to say: This shit was made for you and me.

Abbesses, Violin and Written In The Sand are absolute masterpieces, I could listen to them all night long. Big respect to these lads, amazing work.
This never gets old. Ever.
Naturally
This is really emotional dude reminds me gold days.
That’s deep! And so very true. Nostalgic
Best of best.
15 years after I first found this, I woke up today with the name in my head and had to look it up again. Still rocks.
Somehow after a long search for music on UA-cam I always end up here...
Pure Greatness.
Légendaire.
20ans après toujours les mêmes sensations.
was here in 2006 and i am here now. deffinitely one of my favorites songs ever
Spent ages trying to find this again. So glad I did
2023 and still here! Brilliant!
2023 and going stronger than ever .
2021 and still killer. Wiki says these dudes are still active but I haven’t heard anything for years now
Probably not collectively, but DJ Pone is still around. In Paris, he's doing something with a known French author named Frédérique Beigbeder.
@@C4_Shaf He worked on the latest album of Svinkels too i believe
@@C4_Shaf DJ Pone left Birdy nam nam in 2014 tho
It' s kind of a supergroup and each of these guys has a very prolific solo career, so the project being dormant does not mean tat the band is over.
Pls bring back this @BirdyNamNam

What is it with French people and awesome EDM?
