MW2 was such a goated game that even all the “bad” and “mid” maps were still hella fun to play on

Afghan is so underrated. One of the only maps where the domination flags were like a triangle and not linear.

@@FLEXGhostface doesn’t matter it affects the flow of the map. And I played obj to some degree in that I played for the win but I mainly played search.

And one of the only maps to have such crazy verticality that worked.
Favela seemed like a very balanced map. Had a lot of close quarter areas primarily in the middle lane, with wider open side lines with a lot of different elevations to provide unique angles. To me it’s in S tier. Always loved playing on Favela.

To me, Highrise will always be up there. In my experience, it was (and maybe still is) one of the only maps to add so many spots that people now a days would consider a "glitch". Like getting to the top of that one building was always fun. Very high risk / high reward trying to make the jump. The ledges on the one side. The crane. Hiding behind the desks. Breaking the windows and hiding on the ledges. It was still a 3 lane map but so many fun ways to get around those. I can't recall many maps that did this but then again I haven't played in a long time so eh ;)
Highrise is the GOAT. Teddy bear tower was sooo legit
@@alexalt2888 Facts... Doing so more thinking on the manor, imagine if they added Highrise into Modern Warfare II, it wouldn't be the same feeling due to SBMM. You would never be able to get to the tower in a higher skilled game. You couldn't have fun for being good. The memories we all have from past COD's will never be the same.

as someone who grew up on MW2, and trickshotted/sniped I had a way different tier list lmao. this brought back so many memories, but man yall slept on some of these, but W video
Favela, Afghan, and Quarry need to move up 2 tiers each for trickshotting

Nothing egregiously wrong with this list. In general, I think I like MW2 maps more than everyone else because I have good memories on all of them. The only map in the game I straight up hated was Derail. I even got my first nuke on that map and still ended up hating it.
Only fun thing to do was get on tank and elevator out of the map and OMA javelin from outside the map 😂
Quite a few cod4 maps on the best mw2 maps list. I get they were added into the game but they are still cod4 maps originally
I'd honestly have Scrapyard in the goated category but that's because it was what we played the most for competitive sniping and it was the map my friends and I played all of our 1v1s on. I spent more time on scrapyard then probably any other map in the franchise

Rust is goated! Nothing beats a 1 v 1 Quick Scope No Scope on rust to settle an argument… that maps legendary!
Trailer Park is underrated. It was perfect for pure run n gun fights without worrying about getting hit from above

Carnival honestly was one of the coolest maps in terms of every little detail. I LOVED playing on that map
I'm feeling under the weather but at least there is some good Content to watch.
Scump is spot on with crash. So overrated along with many other cod 4 maps
favela goated for me. Colors and layout were so good in my op. Really hope they bring back to the new MW
favala was so fun to snipe on and when the akimbo models werent nerfed it was a free nuke lol
As someone that grinder FFA sniping, seeing bailout, sub base and trailer park so low hurts my soul
If you put any other call of duty games maps in the mix, suddenldy all of these move up 1-2 tiers
Underpass was absolutely 100% of the time a back out immediately in my opinion
Probably the worst map ever in terms of visibility
And the annoying rain sound being constant

Hector only hates sniper maps :D but all pro teams started with Trickshotting back in the days even Optic Gaming :D
Terminal, Favela, Highrise and Rust are goated. Skidrow is very underrated too

Afghan been mid made me a little sad, I loved that map, I got my first ever nuke on there. Had them spawn trapped at the top of the cliff where C would go in domination, then my chopper gunner went crazy lol
On behalf of trickshotters : GOATED: Highrise, Terminal, Quarry, Favela, Afghan, Scrapyard, Karagh, Underpass, and subbase(sorta). Give us those maps we can work with something.

Salvage is my favorite cod map of all time, no other map as clicked with me the way it did. i spent way to much time in private matches finding little lines of sight all over, nade lineups and other little things about it. its my absolute goat map.
also underpass is in my top 5 maps, something about snd on that map just did it for me. im also on hecz side about strike. GOATED snd map
sub base SND was another one of those maps that just felt right to me
i remember getting a triple HS collat on scrapyard S&D BUT of course wasn’t recording… 🤦🏻♂️

Highrise should be S tier, that map was insanely bad for domination back when that was a competitive mode. You’d be stuck on the one side of the map getting spawn trapped. Additionally, estate probably should have been moved down. The amount of losers posted up in the house with the aa-18 (auto shotgun), claymores, and one man army made if unplayable

I despised rundown one day I got stuck in a lobby cus a hacker got a nuke to last 48hours and somehow the game didn’t crash and my Xbox was still on so I’d jus come home from school and check up on it and people wld be either afk or jus trolling round the map

My best nukes came on wasteland and quarry but I’ll still say high rise, terminal skid row and Afghan were my favourite maps.

For me its Rust. Absolutely the number one 1v1 map every made. I get it, its such a small part of the game (1v1's) but it just created so many memories. So many laughs and arguments were settled here I just cant leave it out of GOATed.
I think Rundown is at least decent possibly even pretty good! You get a chopper gunner or AC-130 and it’s a Nuke 100%

I def respect all of the opinions, but Derailed and Estate are incredible S&D maps.
One group works towards the bomb site, while the other pushes for central position and watches over the push… Damn you gotta love the team play on these maps.
These maps gave a much needed slow pace to an almost perfect fast paced game which made it very well rounded.
Also the boys seem to hate on the maps that actually made the game great.
The newer CODs that are getting hate are suffering bc the maps are too typical.
One of the best things about MW2 was that they had unique maps……
Open fields in Wasteland to entice sniping, close quarters on favela/scrapyard to help with shotguns and smgs, then mid range combat with terminal/skidrow.
Then you also have well rounded maps like KarachiSub base.
So much variety.
