Clever product and really nice review. The price is just ridiculous. £699 for a monitor stand, with power, cable management and a light. Premium or not, that price is insane.
yep they def. marketing this towards the $300+ keyboard warriors, the $1000+ headphones fanatic. But yea with $900 USD, you can probably make 3-4 monitor stands with better features.
Checked the vid for a min. Found it interesting. Read the few first comments. Saw the price tag. Closed the video. Wont waste my time on something that expansive when I can do something similar with zipties and a powerbar.
Great video. Seems like it would really streamline and simplify a desk setup and the cable management is why I’m going to buy one, eventually. The price is a bit steep, if it was $500 I’d buy it without hesitation.
Welcome to my new channel! This video was originally posted on my main channel here: ua-cam.com/video/9HvuuuE67Tk/v-deo.html But I want to post more about desk setups and gaming, so I'm doing so on this channel, and keeping my main channel more filmmaking-related content. Welcome to the new channel!
I love mine and paid for it. I just did monthly payments. Its definitely worth it you just have to be patient with setting it all up if you have more than one computer. I have three machines attached at one time to dual monitors. The drive pocket that has two usb ports for the drive you can share with two machines is my favorite feature. With the heightening feet I fit my mac mini under it.
It has all that stuff built in because it's so monstrous and huge. This thing is actually an eyesore just looking at it. Big and clunky.. and yeah, you have to remove whatever is on top of it if you need to modify it and who doesn't adjust cables on the desk.
Great in depth review! I saw this come a few times in my Facebook feed and it looks really intriguing. But, that price is a huge ask considering that's the kind of money that could be used to buy a solid sit stand desk, most of the payment for a nice ergonomic chair or another/nicer monitor. If they could make a cut down version of this workstation closer to $300-500 I would consider purchasing but at $899, this is just too steep. A better use of my budget would be to get a prebuilt monitor stand/riser, powered USB dock with some cable management trays and come away with way more savings and the same use case.
So you use a USB-C Cable from the Studio to your MacBook to power it, not the Apple supplied power supply? If so, what cable? I have recently ordered the Studio. Thanks
Hello, I want to buy something like this for my brother. Do you maybe have some other suggestions instead of kf this one to buy? It is pretty expensive so i would appreciate if you can give me some other options that i can see and review it. Thanks
A very nice product overall. It is super expensive to pay that amount for such a product. I'd say max 400€ is bearable, and anything beyond that is extreme. Besides that, I wish it had an Ethernet connection, and more usb C and possibly some hdmi cables. Possibly supporting a mobile app and Alexa for controlling the power consumption with some analytics and switching the led colors. A product this price must deliver at least all of the mentioned features. It has a price of a laptop..
Hexcal has clearly been drinking of the Apple Kool-Aid. Is it a premium product? Yes. Is it worth $899 USD? Not even remotely. Expensive but reasonable would be around half that price - put it at $449 or even $499, and you're getting closer to the mark for what is essentially a surge protector, monitor stand, desk lightbar combo. Especially when it cannot actually be used as a monitor stand/riser fully. That's a HUGE oversight there. I appreciate the thorough and thoughtful review, but no. This is like the Brookstone of home office equipment - if you pay that amount of money for this, you deserve your fleecing, because that is all it is, plain and simple.
Yeah, I don't think this will be for everyone, but if you're looking for one-desk cable management, charging, lightbar, shelf, etc - it's very interesting! I still use this at work to charge my devices and keep things tidy.
Awesome product, but 1) that price and 2) I've got a huge ultrawide monitor not on a stand, and wouldn't want to life it every time I change cables. If this design was changed and it was $400 cheaper, I'd probably get it.
If I understood you correctly the leg extensions are included with the stand, and when installed the stand will rise in height for those that prefer it to be higher. And so what you're really criticising here is having to screw them on (just once in the lifetime of the product). Now you either don't see how invalid that criticism is or you're just intentionally making invalid points to seem like you're not being paid to advertise a product as opposed to reviewing it, dishonouring the description in the title of your video.
Seems to me that he likes the height without the legs, it just doesn't provide enough clearance underneath for his devices. Therefore, they are forcing him to put the overall height higher than he would like to gain the clearance... I could have understood him incorrectly but that was how I heard him
I like the ability to hide devices and cables inside. However, 1) the price is f-a-r beyond even consideration 2) I would prefer a version without lighting, 3) more height clearance is needed to be able to store a keyboard underneath when not in use.
1. Agreed 2. You can just choose to never use the included lights 3. There are additional feet that come with it in case you want to extend the height of the feet. I don't plan on getting this nor am I trying to convince you to. I'm just pointing out that 2 of the issues you highlighted have been dealt with already
same. DIY wood method would be: $50 for power strip + usb, $20 for a Qi charger, $15 for cable management thingy, $20 for a 1x8x8, $18 adjustable desk feet, and then anywhere from $10-$100 for a light bar of your choice. So ~$125 plus a lightbar or light strip. Time as well, but not $700 worth of time.
One big disadvantage is the added height. I dont want monitor or speakers that high. Classic example of a youtuber product that looks good only on video.
This would be a great solution for those of us using glass desks. I manage my cables, but still see more than I'd like. This would hide everything, but the color is to masculine for me. The price is outrageous. My interest stops there.

900usd can probably get a desk stand, benq's halo lightbar, herman cable management and you'd still have spare money
I can do just as well with one-eighth the cost.
You could hire an expert craftsman to build one for less lol
True.. I also think it should be priced half at what they are charging now
I really hate how this looks honestly, but in function it’s super cool, so this is actually giving me some great DIY project inspiration.
If Hexcal provided a few different aesthetics (like timber, all-white etc) this thing would sell like hot cakes despite the price.
Interesting take! Customizing the colors would be a nice touch
you can also fit a docking station into the hex cal so you can use it as a docking station, i use it with a KVM switch
Checked the vid for a min. Found it interesting. Read the few first comments. Saw the price tag. Closed the video. Wont waste my time on something that expansive when I can do something similar with zipties and a powerbar.
next level. love it. just wish there was more USB C ports too.
Love it. Great video. Really cool product. Way outside my price range.
Great video. Seems like it would really streamline and simplify a desk setup and the cable management is why I’m going to buy one, eventually. The price is a bit steep, if it was $500 I’d buy it without hesitation.
This looks nice, and I would get this if I didn't already have a triple monitor arm and under desk cable management

💯
You can get a Magnus desk with basically everything this provides for 1,200$, but including the desk 😂
An integrated small UPS, and other color options would justify the price for me. But otherwise it is to expensive for what it is.
Crazy awesome! ❤
Thanks for your sharing!!😇
great review. surprised you dont have more subscribers!
Thanks for the support! I just started this channel, so still working on new videos!
Good job, amazing review. Keep on!
Thanks a ton!
Wild!

Where did you buy ALL THIS 😊

What is the wallpaper you had on your desktop that looks like a car traveling through a forrest at night?
This is honestly a really good product but of the price tag. I could build something like this myself.
I’m getting one
Great review mate. I like this product but I think it’s too big for my streaming desk setup. But it’s a very smart idea for sure.
Yeah, I don't think this will be for everyone, but if you're looking for one-desk cable management, charging, lightbar, shelf, etc - it's very interesting! I still use this at work to charge my devices and keep things tidy.
3:40 Is there any scientific data to back up that claim that a light above the the screen causes more eye strain?
where i can buy this
Keyboard name please! :)

Is there anything like this, that doesn’t cost as much as a high end desk??
Maybe Ankers 675 Docking Station?

No SD card reader is a deal killer.
Not really. That FAR makes more sense to be on an actual device + the fact most cameras and high-end stuff are moving aware from SD for good reasons
@@lilkwarrior5561Lol....nobody is moving away from SD.
@@squatch545 Uh… yes the F they are. CF Express and SSD formats are far superior for the same purpose on modern DLSRs and so on.
wallpaper link?
I love this and it has a great price, too.

Was very interested until I checked price. It's more than my entire stand up desk set up.

The price is horrendous. They need to market this around real people pricing, not a business office target.
One big disadvantage is the added height. I dont want monitor or speakers that high. Classic example of a youtuber product that looks good only on video.
I like the light but that price though…
I need this device but 899$ :o, no way I can upgrade my pc to 14th gen intel with this money, I would pay like 150-200 for this device
Oof I do love this kind of product, but the price is an bit too much also I do wish they have one that is half of the length.
if this were half the cost it'd be palatable.
Good review, but at the price, ...that was the end of the video for me.
This product already exists. Its called "under the desk" thats where all the cables go and without paying 900 ewaste of a dollar
Too mouch money to BLooood Clat!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
As a total neatness freak myself, I think the price is outrageous at $899 USD. It should be a round, even number, like $900... ;)
Nice but WAY TOO expensive. Needs to be at $299
why do you need a lightbar in the first place, you don't look at a keyboard when you're using it...
It’s actually an old product, been out.
Ya ridiculous price premium or not there are so many other things you could buy and build better then the Hexical to organize your desk
This would be a great solution for those of us using glass desks. I manage my cables, but still see more than I'd like. This would hide everything, but the color is to masculine for me. The price is outrageous. My interest stops there.
Cool. Another product for the top 1% smh
Yikes! That's sexy! Yikes @ that price!
thanks for the review Keith...$900, I'm out
The price is totaly ridiculous.
id pay $200 for that lol
awesome device. But not paying $900 even with all that tech built in.
1000$US hmm
Seriously…you understand the premium price tag?? It’s a joke.
Great review, terrible price.
Fucking $900 🤣🤣 wtf are they smoking?
This is $750. Just stop. No one wants a monitor stand with a power strip glued to it for $700.
899 dollars for a shelf lol what a rip off I built on out of oak and designed it my self you scammers
900$, ha ha. Nice try.
awesome and overpriced
Overpriced junk lol
Its ugly and bulky. Probably has some chinese power strip/supply/protector inside too lol
I bet the device you typed this from is made in China
It's very nice, not 900.00 nice
