Randy Rhodes in my opinion was and still is the best guitarist ever! I love the fact he is still being recognized by the younger generation for his greatness . I watched this more than once...total awesomeness
One of the best off that album for sure. I always invision Godzilla wading through a Japanese city destroying everything in his path! Someone should use that track in a new flick.
Dude I love that slow stomping riff and then when the solo comes it's like an explosive burst of pure Randy energy. Have you checked out the Dimebag cover of it?
Yeah I agree and think SATO is another one that I put in that heavy dark composition with a heavy guitar driven riff and a short but ferocious guitar solo as good as anything ever laid down on vinyl .all Rhoads songs are so far ahead in structures .the level of talet shown in the "Diary Of A Madman" LP is truly LEGENDARY .If you break down these songs and actually listen to how all the sections are completely in sync with each other as far as played in specific keys and notes that carry each sections and hand them off to the next stage and are blended so perfectly .the use of building the music up to climaxes and back down .the flows of the music is the most impressive thing about Randy as a musician and songwriter even over his playing .everyone wants to talk about his playing and try and comparing him to Eddie .but his real brilliance is in the compositions and how they were created from a real concept of music theory thats what carrys a song from start to finish and all points in between .it all mapped out down to the smallest of aspects .
Mr Crowley has two of the greatest solos of all time. Just imagine what he would have become had he not gotten on that plane....people would've been all "Eddie van Who?" RIP Randy 🤘
Ur not crazy, evh feared randy because he was SHOWING people how to tap and showing them how to do everything that evh was gatekeeping. Holding techniques from other musicians is not the way of music. Thats just ignorant and childish. as much as i respect what evh did for the change in rocks future, if randy never went up there he wouldve surpassed him. You could hear the arrogance in halens voice when he mocked randys death subtly in an interview while also lying that all randy learned was from him, thats just insane to think. Thats the mentality of a man who was in fear, and afterwards he was more comfortable than ever, randy was his only real competitor
@@bryanation1758 😄😄😄😄EVH didn't fear RR and RR didn't fear EVH. They were competitors, but had their own things going. If anything, EVH set the bar for everyone.
I agree. Those 2 solos he did live on the "After Hours" New York public access TV studio back in 1981 that is here on UA-cam in my opinion are the greatest heavy metal solos every done .especially live .he played every second of them on feeling alone with his eyes closed the whole time .actually extraordinary a true masterpiece .
@@PickettMusic Your right Eddie did set the bar high for everyone that followed behind him .which Randy did just 3 short years later .but honestly Randy kinda took it to a new level with his precise note for note flawless soloing .Randy was much more educated on the guitar than Eddie was .Randy read and wrote sheet music mapping out every single aspect of his material something Eddie didn't and couldn't do .Randy was taught to play guitar and so many more instruments where Eddie never took a guitar lesson in his life and was self taught playing outta the seat of his pants .so they both were extremely gifted guitar player .one got to have a 40 year career and the other a 2 and a half year career so there's no doubt Eddie will always be remembered for changing the face of guitar playing single handedly but Ed was a ass that had major ego issues that made other musicians not want to work with him and Randy was the opposite down to earth nice guy that would go out if his way to show and teach anyone that wanted to kno .not turn his back to audiences and hide wat he was playing from everyone
I have read Ozzys biography and even in his book Ozzy states that he didnt know if he would have made a comeback without Randy. There is so much history between them they became the best of friends and it damn near killed Ozzy when Randy died. He also has a documentary God Bless Ozzy I highly recommend it
Favorite fill riffs for me are in the second verse of SATO . They are totally overdubbed but they just stand out. Favorite solo start to finish wasn’t even mentioned and that is Over the Mountain 😊
Mr Crowley and Crazy Train are good but they're just so overplayed and too common now. If you want real tasty stuff, the solos to Revelation (Mother Earth) Diary of a Madman and Over the Mountain are ones that grabbed me by the ass and still have not let go. Amazing work
This is such a great series. Every time these guys play the first thing they learned to play, even though they are all very accomplished and great musicians, i can hear the 12 year old inside them learning to play it. It's amazing.
Nobody I have heard can play the solo for Mr. Crowley like Randy did on Blizzard of Oz. His picking and tone on that solo is pure magic. Whenever I listen to it, I am always amazed. Randy was a genius at song writing and blending rock with classical.
To me “Diary…” is the best metal song ever written. Everything about it with the acoustic guitar, powerful electric guitar riffs and the way Lee Kerslake attacked the odd time signatures to the lyrics and Ozzy’s voice.
Four Iconic Guitarists, I am not a Fan of Zack's but he has kept Ozzy's career going or 30 years, he has to be very popular with others, and Jake Randy and Tony..... that is quite the stable of fine horses. 1:43 Still of the Night
The Bronx? Sure...but Kensan Horne played first for 1000 years in my favorite band of all time, The Dragons from San Diego, yo! 😄🤘🩷🤙⭐ Fahk do I miss seeing them from the front rows in clubs all over SoCal sometimes 2-3x weekly. Kenny's a Rock Star, for real! Dig this vid and all the Randy 💘. Thanks for sharing!
Of all the guys to play Randy's stuff the guy only guy that even sounded close was Brad Gillis .he did the best of all Ozzys other guitarist .and that's saying alot for Brad but it's the GOD'S honest truth
Out of all the riffs i understand thay crazy train is sick, but i feel like there are so much gbralier riffs from ozzys music. Randy made way cool riffs than that.
Randy made Hendrix look like an amateur, it’s a travesty we didn’t get to see what the kid could really do, he hadn’t even left first gear before he died, it will always annoy me intensely
So great to see. There can never be too much love for the King, Randy Rhoads
Randy Rhodes in my opinion was and still is the best guitarist ever!
I love the fact he is still being recognized by the younger generation for his greatness .
I watched this more than once...total awesomeness
Rhoads*
40 years after his death, he’s still a recognized, talked about legend.
It’s amazing.
I've always thought that "Believer" is the most crushingly heavy Ozzy riff ever
One of the best off that album for sure. I always invision Godzilla wading through a Japanese city destroying everything in his path! Someone should use that track in a new flick.

Yeah I'd agree there
Mr Crowley has two of the greatest solos of all time. Just imagine what he would have become had he not gotten on that plane....people would've been all "Eddie van Who?"

Lol. Not really. Randy was great, but let's not get crazy.

In my opinion Ozzy Osbourne's Solo Career would NOT have been without Randy Rhoads🎸ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
That's pretty much everyone's opinion if he hadn't found a similar skilled player to bang out his wife.
I have read Ozzys biography and even in his book Ozzy states that he didnt know if he would have made a comeback without Randy. Whomever Sammy Boller is, he just blew my dino mind! His note voicing is literally perfect, and his technique is flawless. Just WOW!
Well said. That solo execution was on point
Was close. The best rendition I've heard is by Alex Skolnick or Ritchie Faulkner. They captured the feel and beauty completely
Favorite fill riffs for me are in the second verse of SATO . They are totally overdubbed but they just stand out. Favorite solo start to finish wasn’t even mentioned and that is Over the Mountain 😊

Overplayed and too common doesn´t make anything worst. Those solos have the recognition they deserve.
This is such a great series. Every time these guys play the first thing they learned to play, even though they are all very accomplished and great musicians, i can hear the 12 year old inside them learning to play it. It's amazing.
That tone with the P90s from Lowery is sick. I honestly had never heard of the guy, but damn.
Sevendust guitarist.
Nobody I have heard can play the solo for Mr. Crowley like Randy did on Blizzard of Oz. His picking and tone on that solo is pure magic. Whenever I listen to it, I am always amazed. Randy was a genius at song writing and blending rock with classical.
The difference between Eddie and Randy..
Randy was a composer
Eddie, flashy showman
This video is every Guitar Center Employees worst nightmare 😂😂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDY!!!🤘
Saint Rhoads changed my life. God bless! Peace and love🤘🏼
the tonight solo and outro solo were just epic and bliss as far as solos go
To me “Diary…” is the best metal song ever written. Everything about it with the acoustic guitar, powerful electric guitar riffs and the way Lee Kerslake attacked the odd time signatures to the lyrics and Ozzy’s voice.
This video should have been called 'Rockers who learned Crazy Train when they started playing guitar'
To me, “Blizzard” was an Ozzy record featuring Randy Rhoads….”Diary” felt like a Randy Rhoads album featuring Ozzy
Clint played the best of em.all. Diary and Believer.
Only one guy mentions diary of the madman, everybody is like "ooh I know Crazy Train"... shieeeet
I ❤❤ hearing insane reffs from different types of guitarist of metal 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The intro of Diary of a Madman is based on "Estudios Sencillos No. 6" by Leo Brouwer... RR was really into the classical stuff
you missed crazy train!
Fahk do I miss seeing them from the front rows in clubs all over SoCal sometimes 2-3x weekly.
Kenny's a Rock Star, for real!
Dig this vid and all the Randy 💘. Thanks for sharing!
Great job putting this video together...Great job!
Randy Rhoads, who I discovered through the two Blizzard of ozz albums
wow I havent seen sammy boller in ages. he's really perfected the randy licks.
Phil Demmel seemed to be the only one to play those riffs with feel-effortlessly
I really love this. Thanks so much🎼🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Steal Away the Night is one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time.
Nice sharing Vidio.. God Bless You 🇮🇩🌺🌺👍
diary of a madman (intro specifically) is one that people get the timing off cuz its very washy like the tempo speeds up and down slightly
Gus G ............... the video that plays Bark at the Moon for the Gmag is so f(*^(* epic
Yes Phil Day On The Green reference Oakland Coliseum 🤘🤘🤘
RANDY FUCKING RHOADS THE BEST
Geez..cut to Sammy on that solo with just his hair hanging down it looks like Randy. Had he been playing the polka dot V it would have been crazy!!
Oh C'mon! Ozzy's Shlongggggggg worked when he gave the humpty dumpty to his hair stylist! hahahahhahahah!
Love randy r.i.p
🎵 Mr. Crowley what went on in your head 🎵
I wouldn’t say he copied evh, the crazy train riff is a jsb inspired riff, he was classically trained.
Flying high again solo is so awesome
God bless Ozzy Osborne and Randy Rhoades
Bark at the moon is my favorite, but i inow thats jake and not randy
I don't know these people at all with the exception of the dude from Mastodon. And of course Zakk.
Over the mountain
Next up:Guitarists playing there favorite led zepplin riffs or guitarists playing there favorite slayer riffs.
Of all the guys to play Randy's stuff the guy only guy that even sounded close was Brad Gillis .he did the best of all Ozzys other guitarist .and that's saying alot for Brad but it's the GOD'S honest truth
Brad did well, Jake did well, clearly Joe did since he was a student
Am I just a crazy guy....you bet!!!
can someone PLEASE remind of the song name to the riff at 9:10
mr crowley
Rockers Play Their Favorite Ozzy + Randy Rhoads Riffs 2029pm 10.11.23 i dunno, do you?
🤘❤🤘
🤘😎🤘
Iommi, Rhodes, Wylde. In that order.
I love Randy, but he didn't write the guitar intro for Diary of a Madman. I think it was Leo Brauer. Maybe I spelled it wrong
Crowley
Thought he died for a second there…
I love Ozzy and Randy but I could go my whole life without hearing crazy train. There are so many better songs on those two albums.
So you mean they play randy riffs
Metallica next
Lost me at 2 min mark
👍👍👍
Omg i thought he was dead don’t do that
N.I.B
With out randy Ozzy would have eashed up
Out of all the riffs i understand thay crazy train is sick, but i feel like there are so much gbralier riffs from ozzys music. Randy made way cool riffs than that.
After the first guy this video went downhill quick
Randy made Hendrix look like an amateur, it’s a travesty we didn’t get to see what the kid could really do, he hadn’t even left first gear before he died, it will always annoy me intensely
So many of these players have such horrible guitar tones.
The loudwire website has to be the worst on earth.
"that riff is one of the most iconic..." plays it complete wrong tempo with complete wrong chords 🙄 Some of you need really need to stop...
