Sister, I know you could take this the wrong way but I would like to say I consider myself a kjv bible believing Christian. I am in pursuit of only what the word of God has to say not what religion has to add. That being said I'm struggling to find a good church while also not forsaking the gathering together of believers. But I won't forsake the word of God for the sake of fellowship.
You should study the history of protestantism...for begining start with the book " The great controversy" written by Ellen G White...many people thinking that she belongs to a cult... protestantism have been destroyed...just read the book... you are a very lovely family with wonderful children...God will provide
People should never follow man’s religion…follow God, read your Bible and sit under the tutelage of a Bible believing Pastor and do as the Bereans did…verify what you hear…you can only know His truth if you read His Word.
Why Christianity divided themselves sooo much???? How many are there? So Orthodox, Roman, Born again, Jehova's witness, Church of England and so on.....
As an orthodox christian, it breaks my heart to see how many people think we are in the wrong, especially protestants. But this also goes to show that they don't really know anything about our church. So I'll explain a little for anyone who is open to it. Orthodox Christianity is the first branch of christianity, before any division or anything. In 1054 the Schism took place and that's when we divided from the Catholic Church. The differences are not huge but are noticeable, for example we don't recognize the authority of the Pope. Then later on there have been lots of protestant movements and most of them have started as a result of politics. In orthodox christianity we believe that we should respect both the Bible, the Church and the traditions that have been preserved for 2000 years and some even before that. We have icons, but we don't pray to them, we pray to the person represented in the icon, the icon is just a way of acknowledging the reality of that person and getting closure. We don't pray to saints the way we pray to God. We know that God is one and only who can make anything possible and He is the only one we worship. However we ask saints to intercede for us. If you ever enter an Orthodox Church, our services don't include dancing, jumping, instrumental music or anything. It's just the liturgy that has been the same for centuries. Each liturgy is a remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and with each liturgy you can receive the Holy Eucharist. So next time you decide to judge us for just practicing the same faith as you, the way it has been practiced since the beginning of Christianity, remember that this is where your protestant church has its origins as well and each and every decision that has been made in the Orthodox world has been carefully discussed in Ecumenical Councils held by the most knowledgeable people, not just randomly taken by someone. The bible is writing from men. Jesus or god didn’t write it. If you’re going to have a relationship with a faith just make it good and peaceful.
