Blaine: Nice article. Thanks............I had no idea that dredging was still going on in the middle of the last century.........I figured it all went away with the Old West. Thanks again.........Mike M
Blaine-How about New Idria mercury mine up in the mountains south of Panoche Valley. Access would be by Mercey Springs and Panoche Roads. It was working into the 1970s but is a Superfund site now. It's been fifteen years since I've been up there. Lots of "Keep Out" signs then but a fascinating place with some structures still there. It's a winding road up from the floor of Panoche Valley. Figure a full day...............Mike
@@blainestravels4455 oh wow, ya totally different area..I've been to Smelling ghost hunting in the past, it's got tailing all over you can see in googlemaps. Have you done a video on Chinese Camp? I hope those buildings are still there after all the rain and wind....the church was about to fall over several years ago.
Used to go fishing there when I was a kid, Thanks for the slice of history with the upload.

We stopped and looked at the monument yesterday.Where can we find the trail to this dredge?
Due west 1/4 mile. If you look close you can see it just past the bees

@@modestoca25 Ghost hunting would be pretty fun at the Dredge, especially in the lower chambers that are dark and filled with water and spiders.
