As someone who's worked in the software development space for a decent chunk of time, I've learned that the overlap between people who make good engineers & those who make good designers is _very small_ and both groups typically have diametrically opposed styles of communication.
that's cuz most people are either a programmer or an artist, it takes a special person to be relatively great in both areas.
Kosmic just smashed the optimism any% world record. He went from "this looks awesome" to "this is hell" in like 5 seconds.
The contrast between the first 10 seconds of this video and the rest is the perfect representation of "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined."

The solution to the puzzle is to delete the hack.
World 2 is a puzzle hack because you become a puzzle piece fitting through those small spots on while riding the bullet block

By “puzzle” game you meant “guessing” game. 😆
Game design like this, particularly the intangible blocks and invisible pipes, invokes what's colloquially known as a "fade"; What this means is that if I were to meet the creator in person, their consciousness would "fade" away after I knock them out as retribution for suggesting that this romhack be experienced by human beings, especially after having such a promising first impression. You could even call it Equivalent Exchange.

A puzzle rom hack with no enemies... and apparently no puzzles either. XD
Pretty bold of the creator to create a puzzle rom hack with no actual puzzles. Maybe the fake block thing would be more forgivable if there was a logic to it. For example a 1-block row would be fake while a 3-block row is solid. They could also introduce the rules in a safe environment and then have a knowledge check by having you navigate a block maze. Even that could run the risk of being too cryptic for some without explicitly telling you the rules, but it's still better than just making it completely random.

Some ROM hacks are just meant to be TAS games, where the "fun" is using frequent savestates or slowdowns, so intangible blocks are just a minor inconvenience

This looks like an awful experience to play, but it was extraordinarily enjoyable to watch you play it, almost always dying to either the exact issue you were currently describing, or its exact opposite, with impeccable timing

It's definitely not the "good" game design that came with Mario, but I feel like Kosmic doesn't quite recognize how _normal_ these sorts of game mechanics were back in NES days... where the only way to figure out what to do is to try everything, often not being able to figure it out for so long, wracking your brain at what you possibly couldn't have done yet... it's hard to accuse them of the bad game design when, well, let's say the science hadn't been settled on good game design yet.

These hacks are extremely frustrating to watch. I can only imagine how annoying they are to play. Still fun to hate watch, though.
Thanks for another romhack Kosmic; shame this turned out to be "one of those ones". I really hope we get another romhack soon that is all about wonderful design and doesn't care about obtuse technical stuff.
When it comes to translating Japanese texts, I would suggest next time using either DeepL or ChatGPT as those fair significantly better at conveying the nuances which oftentimes gets mistranslated by Google; DeepL and ChatGPT works best with phrases and sentences, meanwhile Google is best with single words usually.
