I actually would love bratz's more, especially since there releasing always brats with the deluxe fully articulated body.I feel like that would help them.Especially with the release of the furniture.
26:40! GIRLS ALOUD! I was watching audio only, but I heard their voices so had to comment. Second time that Girls Aloud was mentioned from videos I've seen from you!
As someone fairly new to doll collecting it blows my mind that bratz was made by mattel for a few years. Must have been a wild time to collect them, i cant imagine what it wouldve been like to be a kid into Brat at the time
Mattel held the IP for Bratz for just a moment. The Mattel Bratz were never officially released. What you saw were prototypes which at one point were only rumored to exist for many years. It's only been within the last couple years or so that images of the dolls in box have surfaced. Around 2013, head sculpts for these dolls were found on sites like Taobao. More recently, shoe molds have also been found. No bodies have been found yet. The Mattel Bratz head sculpts go for a lot of money and are actually "rare." If you have the opportunity to get one, GET IT.
I actually look back at this era quite fondly. My love for Bratz dolls was ignited just a year earlier (2009). So of course, it did sadden me to know at that time that Bratz were discontinued. It was a pleasant surprise that on Christmas day 2010 that I received Party Jade as a gift from my brothers. I honestly had no idea that Bratz were back on shelves! Really goes to show the amount of effort MGA did with the marketing. The only thing I don't like about this era is the hair quality. The fashion is very experimental and of the period and I love it! Thank you for sharing your views on this under-rated era. Awesome video!
What an awesome video! I love seeing these retrospectives on different doll lines. The only Bratz doll I have from this era is the Chloe from In the Wild, but I remember seeing the Style Starz and Sea Stunnerz lines on clearance at Walmart all the time and being pretty tempted to get one! Personally I'm a big fan of the taller bodies and articulation - part of the reason I love Bratzillaz so much (now) is the combination of the inset eyes, taller articulated body, but keeping the Bratz features. Well that and the theming - I'm partial to freaky fierce doll lines haha.
Thanks! I really enjoyed diving back into this era 😁 While I get the criticism I love the taller bodies as they really suit some of the 2013 lines like Sea Stunnerz and Action Heroez
I feel like this era is the middle child Bratz, the one that gets lost in such a big family of eras. I only remember seeing the slim box dolls at CVS and True Hope at Toys R Us, so this was a fascinating video! :D
Loved the video! 🩷 Also i really like this era, Even tough it's not as talked about in the fandom, it has a special place in my heart, the early 2010's bratz really semed like an attempt to improve the brand, i actually would love to see mga using the "Bratz party" articulated bodies in their current releases, or something similar to those of "insta pets" from 2016, i kinda like what they doing now, but part of me would like to see more elevation and improvent, instead of reproductions, maybe thats why i feel open for the "always bratz"dolls or the Hayden williams 2018 ones. (Also i have an obsession with that Rina doll with the Blonde and freckles, so cute! 💕)
I love the Rina doll too - she’s got such a cute face! Honestly I don’t love the current articulated Bratz body with the movie arms, so I agree on them using the Party or Instapets bodies
This era might've not been as sucessful as the 2000s era but it still deserves the recognition as it still feels Bratz not like the 2015 one.... I liked the taller bodies as it made the girls seem more 'mature' in some way. I think it should've had better media and better songs tho because those weren't it... #BratzRBack
maybe i was busy with school but i don't think the tall bratz made it to our sh/tores 😢 i would have loved those coz as much as i like bratzillaz, i prefer daintier hands and the iconic snap feet. hope to find one online one of these days
Thanks for the shoutout!! I remember being incredibly excited when the 10/10/10 era was first announced, and I guess maybe it's my nostalgia bias, but I do hold the 2010s era of Bratz in high regard. I do agree that they weren't on the same level as the dolls from the 2000s, but I still love them bc of how much of a relic they were of the time. I do feel like they introduced too many characters, but I do wish some of them were given second chances. In terms of media, the Bratz Rock web-series SUCKED. I'm honestly not surprised it lasted for one episode. 💀
i have myra but i hate her shoes, no matter how many layers of paint/nailpolish i put on, the original paints still want to stick together. maybe it's just the humidity in the tropics?
I'm actually gonna say that the more conservative designs weren't due to angry parents, and were moreso them just incorporating the style of the time, it was 2010 and bright colours, layering and less revealing clothes were simply what was trendy, leggings included. Bratz goal was always to be the 'trendy' fashion doll, so them wearing 2000s styles probably wouldn't have worked back then either.
Why were the leggings perceived as a bad thing? You could always take them off if the doll looks better without them, and imo more clothing items means more ways to restyle dolls.
a lot of those leggings were stitched on, for the slim box dolls at least. you'd have to actually cut them off and make them unusable (or, with some sewing, convert them to legwarmers). 2010s fashion trends are also... i don't know if polarizing is the right word, but definitely not appreciated like 2000s or current fashion. also probably the fact that a lot of them use the exact fabric in the exact same color, vs something like monster high (which was also obsessed with synthetic knit tights) that usually added a print or something to trick people into thinking it's a different outfit.
Great video! This era was always kind of a blind spot to me as a Bratz fan. I never cared for the way they all had the same face
As a survivor of Bratz R Bak, this video gave me a visceral reaction. I live for it.
Very very well done!!! I enjoyed myself a lot!! You made me wish I didn’t sell my 2010s bratz lol
Thank you for this. I appreciate it tremendously because this era was slept on for obvious reasons but I loved all the new characters.
I actually would love bratz's more, especially since there releasing always brats with the deluxe fully articulated body.I feel like that would help them.Especially with the release of the furniture.

I like the later screenings
“Vague description and a nickname” 😂
Mga was like name generation + nickname generator 😂

well they were being created by mattel, but they never came to stores. by the time they would’ve, mga got the license back
They were by mattel for like...a month😭 not a few years
And they were never released
Fortunately that wasn’t the case. Imo, the Mattel Bratz prototypes r pretty horrendous.
Aww honey ur just not that smart

Thank you! I definitely appreciate the very of-the-time fashions of these dolls 😄
What an awesome video! I love seeing these retrospectives on different doll lines.

i dont know i was kinda living for this reboot i had such a good time with the dolls and playing with my cousins

Great vid
As much as I kinda hate the 2010s Bratz outfits I can’t talk because that’s literally how I dress lol

💀
Please do a Moxxie Girls video to go with this! I have always been so interested in that connection
I love Moxie Girlz so I’m definitely hoping to make a video about them too 😁
Fun fact back in 2008 mattel purchased all Saran hair from 2 distributors leaving mga choosing with poly
I don’t care for them, but they tried, and I enjoyed your video!
That’s fair! Thanks for watching 😁
I cannot tell you how much I YEARNED for the Bratz Party dolls back in the day. I thought their hideous Disney Channel layering was so chic lmao
Same, that kind of style is just a magnet for me
i have myra but i hate her shoes, no matter how many layers of paint/nailpolish i put on, the original paints still want to stick together. maybe it's just the humidity in the tropics?

Idk if bratz 2010 names or rainbow high recent names are worse lol
Bratz cats meow 😂
Idc the leggings thing is SO real. I'm a leggings addict, y'all just don't get it!!! 😭😭
Stop it they did NOT give Cloe a Bumpit. I'm in pain.
Sorry if this is controversial: I really did not love the 2010 releases, but I will admit that I have a slight Shadi obsession.
Why were the leggings perceived as a bad thing? You could always take them off if the doll looks better without them, and imo more clothing items means more ways to restyle dolls.
From what I can tell I think people thought they worsened the overall look of the doll’s outfit

not "remember their names... or don't"😂
i love my adri but yes her hair has awful ends now
