Can't tell but first, I like your determination and respect shown for the music and your instruments, no mugging or fooling around. Second, I can't tell if the Cornet part is being plaed with a cornet or trumpet. You know how it feels to dress up or wear a uniform, its different right? A similar feeling happens when you play a part on the instrument the part was written for. In "'Mary Poppins", the musical, there's a section that is to sound like a British brass band. For these opportunities I pull out my dad's old Bach cornet #2_ _9 he bought in 1936 - and added that unique color. For G&S Mikado I was fortunate to find an 1893 Beau Ideal cornet and played it in a theatre built in 1902...unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, most modern literature is written only for Trumpet and that's unfortunate. Think about it.
Wow! Thanks for the story telling Mr. Dice. Please do take into consideration that we are highschoolers and don't have many instruments at the disposal.🙂You should come to our concert and hear it in person- Wednesday December 7th 7:00 @Wylie Highschool Thank you
@@paulblichmann2791 And really, can the audience hear the difference? Doubtfully. Picking up the cornet, to play a cornet part, makes me feel and play like an old-school (can that be considered "retro"?) cornet-player. As I've been able to use the cornet more often, I've become more aware of places in the music where the cornet color may be preferable, like in M. Poppins. For me, it's personal, like the difference I feel between wearing camo pants and concert blacks.
the fact that this happened 10 days before a concert which was played during a christmas concert by a highschool with the same school colors feels like too much of a coincidence
Let's face it, we all judge the entire performance based on the horse noise at the end.
Who hasn't tho?
Onggg😭
This is the most truthful comment I have yet to see on gods green earth ✋💀

Listen to Roger Webster play the cornet and you’ll hear the difference between the two. Colour is vastly different.
Thank you. This was so much fun to watch! You guys sounded amazing.
Thanks so much!!
Cornet is the guy on our right for those wondering. I've played cornet for 46 years....Nice tone guys!

I'm a Trombonist so I immediately saw the guy in the back and I just wanted to ask if that was four from the Divergent series
very comidical. ill ask him if he has heard that one before
Great!
As a 7th grader who plays trumpet I’m so excited
I'm a senior trumpet this year at brownwood😅sound good tho

Bass trombonist is quite good, I'd tell him to play even louder for good measure though.
Him?
Two horsies pulled that sleigh!
The horse was solid. I've heard better but definitely good effort.
