I’ve always found taking an Elixir 11-49 gauge string set and then changing out the 49 to a 56 really made a monumental difference in getting a balanced string set with enough give to keep your strings feeling like bridge cables.
I use 10-52 on my strat. It stays in Drop C nicely, plus i can use other tunings like Standard and DADF#AE depending on the song without worrying about tring breakage
I have to use .56-.12 on my Ibanez Gio that works perfectly and those were Ernie Balls. For like Drop B i like to use .62-.12 and B Flat .64-.12 and finally i’m about to try .68-.13 for Drop A and B standard. The other strings were Stringjoy
bro, u use 12 56 for Drop C, i used 13 56 for C standard, Drop A and Drop G, and it didn't felt extremely loose or something like that (i use an Ibanez Gio too), and for Drop B, 13 56 felt so incredibly tight, and the bridge became almost floating dude, i feared that the bridge would snap or something, so i tuned down again to C standard.
@TheAulGuitarist aw naw, that is really.... welp, i think my problem was not setting my guitar for that string gauge and tuning, but even like that.... the 60 is ok, but the 13... god...
For me, I like 54, 42, 30, 17, 13, and 10. Just enough tension on the low strings for riffs and chugging, and loose feel on the higher strings so I can bend.
I'm running D'Addario 11-56s for Drop C now, and in terms of tension, they feel pretty much the same as the 10-52s I have on my other guitar at Drop D. I think 10-52s would feel too floppy at Drop C. I also gave up on GHS strings since they simply do not stay in tune worth a damn for me, no doubt because they are round-wound.
I use Cleartone 13-70's for my custom tuning C#G#C#G#C#D# tuned @ 433Hz as they're the most well balanced set I have found and when they say their strings are 36% louder and last longer than any other competitors that were not kidding on that note... best strings I have found and have used many brands and gauges over the years and these nail the tone range I personally have been seeking for more years than I care to admit!🤘😁
did you do some set up and adjust the action on the guitar after restrung ? coz as far as I know different string gauges means different set up and different action and how do we do that ?
Just a standard setup of: string action (start with 2mm), truss rod adjustment (slight arch but visually flat), and intonation (tighten string saddles until 12-fret tuning matches open strings)
Yeah mate that's where I'm at with my framus. Don't want to faff with the nut just yet. Done it on a few other guitars but it means you have to commit to using the fat strings in future.
@@WholeLottaBulldog its not a big deal about huge strings, i want huge cause i want plays lower drops, i had an another guitat for E standard and drop d,but thanks for reply
@@joshuajames2802 it was tight. Went to a regular 11 set but then it was loose. Now i have another beefy slinky on, and it was great until i set up the intonation. After that it was awful again because the string height got higher
If you are going to use the Beefy Slinky set, make sure you bought the 19p string gauge to replace the 22p string gauge which is consistent tension IMO
Once i was using 13-65 gauge in drop and standard C turnings on my 24.75 Ltd Viper. Ngl it was a weird experience but the sound was very thick. So, i guess, 60s will be pretty fine in that case
I use 10-52 like Daron Malakian, on my Ibanez Gio Superstrat 🤘
I use 11-54 in drop c and it sounds amazing for chugging and riffs and has enough bend for solos

Use those 10-52 strings on a baritone guitar in drop C I’m sure they won’t cause any harm or strain on the neck
thank you!
Is this something you improvised? It sounds killer! Has that As I Lay Dying vibe.

For me 10-54 or 10-56 is perfect for Drop C. 11 is to tight for me for soloing. But I guess this depends on your personal finger strength.
Doent the guitarist for bring be the horizon use .80?
I have 11-54 on my PRS Mira in Drop C, it’s a bit more taut on the higher strings than what I’ve become to but they sound terrific
Strings I use for drop C is 10-46 on my schecter omen 6, which for me is perfect but I’ll experiment with new string gauge eventually.
.011 is too loose but .010 feels right?
Would it be ok if I use 10-52 on standard tuning?
Imo its 11-50 dunlop heavy core, the extra 1mm really helps the 6th string stay in a similar tension as the rest
Agreed!
thanks boss!
Could you do a video like this regarding C Standard tuning please?
11-56 is the perfect one bro
How about for lespaul? Short scale i mean 22 frets

how about for standard c, what's the recommended string gauges?
13s should be fine

does anyone know the gauge for Drop A# on floyd rose
In my Ibanez 26.5 scale length use 12-60 but in fender scale I used to use 12-62
