Im from New Zealand and i don't mean no disrespect or nothing but if it hadn't been for the movie I wouldn't have known what these honourable men did for their country, they are prime examples of selfless loving men who would put themselves in the face of danger to protect others. I am truly inspired to better myself to serve others and just make the most of everyday with my loved ones not taking time for granted. R.I.P Hotshots! Never forgotten.
People honestly cannot comprehend how fast a fire can overtake you and take your life. Sadly it takes people to die to be recognized. I'm not even shy to compare wildlife firefighters to frontline soldiers.
I completely understand where both parties are coming fromI'm from Arizona myself and I still haven't been able to watch the movie I do want to one day, but for now it's still pretty sore topic here in Arizona still.
Until i saw this movie i had no idea what these firefighters did or went thru to fight these wildfires. Now i research it everyday. Im so glad this movie was made so we can appreciate how much they all do for us and they are truly special people- men and women. Truly brave.
The studio did consult with the families before it was made and they were given a private viewing before it was released. Some had input throughout the filming process. It still brought out issues in their job most of us knew nothing about and what they and their families went through. Still has my thumbs up
Kim your absolutely right I just watched the movie two nights ago and as a 32 year old man I have only teared up from watching 2 movies in my life prior to watching this one but this one made my eyes water like faucets it was gripping to see what they was willing to risk and ultimately paid their lives to save someone's property their livelihoods people they didn't know but they did their jobs with courage and honor and I know it's hard for the family but I never heard of this story 4 ½ years later I just found out and I have never been touched by these true definition of a hero and courage beyond anything since 9/11 till this movie and im heartbroken for their families I so deeply am I could give a crap about Hollywood making their profits they should donate the proceeds to the families honestly I believe but I'm glad they brought it to a big screen and made it about these tremendous 20 brave men and I know 19 died but the 1 survivor Brendan I hope I spelled his name correctly but I know he has to feel awful but great to cause he lived it and knew them but the movie inspired me to strive to be great and to take a step to help another this movie to me was tragic but it showed me something I couldn't see in myself and opened my world up to endless possibilities these 19 brave souls their lives touch millions each day so I'm damn thankful for the movie and Kim you be to live to inspire as these men did and I would like to pay homage and deep respect to the 19 brave men of the Granite Mountain Hotshots may they forever live on and Rest In Peace Amen Great comments Kim I wanted to share your feelings on the movie and give you a positive feedback it was great to see it touched someone as it touched me.
They weren’t trying to make a “buck” I see it as a memorable or a life story! This movie made me really think more on how much sacrifice they put their self through.
Nah they were speaking facts. I personally loved the movie and am in awe of what these men did, but this movie made over 26 MILLION dollars. Where did that money go? To charity? To current hotshots and firefighters? No. Hollywood plays on the emotions of individuals in order to sell tickets and line their own pockets, they absolutely were just trying to make a “buck”, don’t be taken for a fool.
She was just angry cause she lost someone she loved from a terrible fire. I love the movie to this day and I because of it I’m becoming a wildland firefighter myself next year. Only the brave inspired me to do something meaningful even if no one understands
Don’t be naive, of course they were trying to ‘make a buck’. There may have been more to it than that, but every Hollywood movie is funded to make a profit. Any other perspective is incredibly unrealistic
Never knew of hotshots, only the local firefighters that drive the big red trucks. Seeing this film opened me up to a whole new world and I believe is very good. Of course some things were added for dramatization, but I think it is a good portrayal of The Granite Mountain Hotshots and their journey and brotherhood.
As a former rural firefighter and current member of a sheriff's department this movie brought me to tears as well. Very touching story and like many have stated most common civilians don't know what a wildland firefighter does. Also the amount of actual technical stuff you have to learn like weather patterns, Temperature, humidity, wind direction etc etc. Great movie and I hope the families will find peace.
as someone who doesnt live in the usa and didnt get exposed to this story im glad they made the movie because it taught me about the brave men of the granite mtn hotshots.
She should be happy that the making of this movie spread awareness of what these men do. And let the world know that they are truly heroes! Otherwise, I hate say, I would not know. Sharing their story was an incredible experience. I feel for their famlies! May they all rest in peace and may God bless their souls!
Mellisa basile I agree. She’s very bitter and hurt by her lose. Maybe the families got a monetary cut from this movie, but I don’t know. I do remember reading about the families suing for somewhat around 300 million to fault the communication between air crews and ground. Don’t know if anything came of it though. I agree it does raise awareness as to what people in dangerous jobs do for a living. My husband worked offshore and was caught in a blowout just a few miles from where the Deepwater Horizon rig blew up, and it was also within a few days of that tragedy, just 3 years later. When I got that call from the company’s main office, my heart stopped. All they could tell me was that there was an explosion on his rig and they didn’t know if there were any survivors. Imagine what goes through your mind when someone tells you that. It was the longest 8 hours of my life until I heard his voice. When the movie Deepwater Horizon came out, he was determined to see it. To almost relive what he went through. For a long time, he had nightmares about it. He no longer works in that field of employment, but he talks about it from time to time. Movies like this brings awareness to everyone that there are dangerous jobs out there and all the brave people who are willing to do them. It’s just a shame that tragedy has to strike for there to be awareness. Let’s also not forget about the movies Ladder 49, The Perfect Storm and The Guardian.
@@mi2ube she acted like hollyjuuwwood was trying to make a buck but they actually lost a few hundred mill. im not sayingthis movie was not-for-profit but with low budget actors and director, how can you really take the high road in this situation?
Honestly, this woman is entitled to her feelings. She lost a family member to this disaster. While many of us my look at the film as a moving tribute to the sacrifice of these men and others like them, to her it is a commercialization of her loved one’s sacrifice. I will say I was moved and am grateful the movie was made, but I respect her feelings and simply pray that her family will find peace as the years pass.
Movies like this are very much indeed.... “TRIBUTES” to the people who lost their lives doing what they do best and doing what they LOVED to do, plain an simple.... its the TRUTH. I’m very glad this movie was made. 3 movies in which were made... 1). DEEPWATER HORIZON 2). PATRIOTS DAY (about the Boston Bombing). 3). ONLY THE BRAVE All needed to be made and thanks to those who can recreate, to show us a glimpse into what really was & really happened. 👍👍👍👍👍
It's telling a story that's how our society documents stories (movie and films) especially of heroism. Someone really could've wrote a book but is it really going to be as big as a hit as the movie ? No. I think it's a good way to honour heroes by telling their story and in this day and age that's through film.
I think that finding ways to share these stories is a good thing, especially as this seemed to do it's best to be respectful and honor those lost as well as those coping with that lost instead of playing it for thrills. I also think that those still here get the right to react in any way they need to. Maybe some day Travis Turbyfill's parents will be ready to see it and find some peace in how it was handled, but I can understand their feeling that this is too new for them and not something they want eyes on.
I agree, it's a good telling of their story. It could have focused a bit more on the different families, but that probably would make for a confusing film. It's a good tribute to them.
Here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 I had no idea about the brave heroes who fight wildland fires. Only the Brave is one of the best informative, impacting and saddest movies Ive ever seen. Sure educated and inspired me to be more proactive in protecting the safety of others and to volunteer services to our community. This movie is a testimony and tribute to each of the 19 GMH. Im sure theyd be humbled to be remembered and honoured worldwide. ❤🙏🌺
Wonderful movie, and very enlightening. I am sure like me, most people do not have any idea of the fortitude it takes to fight fires. Now I have a better understanding. It was heartbreaking to see the horrific ending, but I so admire these brave men, and all our fire fighters. May we never forget their sacrifice; their service is a national treasure that cannot be measured.
I’m so happy this movie was made, I got to see how truly brave these 19 were. I got the chance to hear their story and voice. It was such a great movie 🇺🇸
MtB ArN none of it did, I'm from that small town, and I knew the mother of one of the men who died and it's truly a tragedy Hollywood took to make a quick buck, none of the funds are going to the children of the father's who died, nothing, who wants to see a family member die again? A terrible painful death at that
I have seen only the brave here and there, thinking it was only a run of the mill wildland firefighter movie. Only recently, did I find out to my shame as a former firefighter, it was based on a true story. Movies like this are extremely important to capture the event and have a monument on film to remember it by. As for Sherri, I'll assume given her rough exterior that she had some unresolved issues with her son, and the movie would bring those feelings of unresolved guilt back up. This movie didn't make it's budget back, but the studio didn't care. I'm taking my first road trip west in November and we will go through Phoenix. I plan to stop out and take the hike to that hallowed ground and pay respects. Great movie and great honor depicting these heroes.
I understand some of the families have mixed feelings and I'm sorry for that but as an ex firefighter this movie is wonderful and prayers go out to all the families , ride easy brothers rest in paradise
I had no idea that this even happened until I saw the movie just now. Been looking up more info on it since. They were extremely brave I commend them all and they were all so young it's so sad but they are truly heroes. I know some family members may not be able to watch it but it's for us who had no knowledge this even occurred. Never knew the sacrifices they made for all those people who choose to live there. R.I.P ALL 19!❤
I know the families might think Hollywood wanted to make money of out their pain, but I have never heard of the incident until I watched the movie, which in fact raised awareness of what great heroes they were. I understand their pain. But I am glad and thankful the movie was made, otherwise I would never be able to offer my respect to them. They made an impact on my life that would last forever.
I try my best to stay away from previews because they give too much of the movie away. I saw this with my kids but all I knew about the movie was that it was about fire fighters. I had no idea of the true story so the ending really hit me hard. I thought they did a great job in both showing what these guys go through and creating an emotional connection to them.
I guess I can understand both sides of the argument here. Hollywood will do ANYTHING to make a buck however, I think it is very important that we honor and recognize the sacrifices made by these incredible men. does it rip your heart out to know what happened? OF COURSE!! But we cannot just lay them to rest and write it off!!! they deserve better then that!!! Be safe and God Bless.
Films and Series are the most important things to keep the memory alive. For example would anybody know of Easy Company if it had not been for Band of Brothers? I would not know of these firefighters if it werent for the movie.
Great movie. As sad as it is anytime you die doing a job you love, with people you love for people and a community that you truly love...your life was well spent. And you died with honor. You didn’t grow old, you didn’t get hit by a drunk driver....your life and death had purpose. God has a special place for heroes.
This movie is nothing but respect for those heroes! How can you not support this? If my son had died and they would make a movie about him and his crew I would be supporting it for shure!
I can understand thinking hollywood is just "trying to make a buck". With names like Josh Brolin or Miles Teller it gives people like me who didn't even know about this tragedy something to learn about. the film may reach 1000 people or a million but i can name 5 friends who didn't know of this and we do now so after just watching this film, I'm happy it was made.
I found this movie turned as quick as the flames & introduced scenes of extreme gravity. I have a new found respect for the divine masculine. Bless the souls of good, honourable men like these. Incredible heart💝
With all the bs that goes on in MSM, the government, and society, it is stories like these that should never leave our minds, and leave more from our mouths. What a movie, what an event, what a group of MEN. RIP Granite Mountain HotShots.
My brigade lost three fire fighters during my years of service. I worked with one and trained the other two. Its very hard on families but if there’s a story it should be told.
I'm very thankful the movie was made. I wouldnt have known anything about the story or the brave men without it. Within a month of seeing the film I found myself planning a trip from VA to Prescott to walk the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial trail. One of the most surreal things I have done being on the mountain knowing the story of those brave men. Everyone should make the trip to pay respects.
I think it was important that it was made into a movie I didn't know at all about them until I heard about only the brave. They deserve to have their courage and sacrifice shown to everyone so everyone can know about them.
This movie was so touching cause it’s about the men! How silly, funny, strong beautiful and Brave they were! Ppl needs to watch and rewatch this movie ! It so well made it’s very heartfelt! I honor their families and friends and honestly we didn’t deserved firefighters not like this amazing men!
Just spent a bit in fft2 training and learned about what happened it is truly sad..because now i know what actually could have happened to em..other than the flashover..scary stuff
I would never tell a grieving family member or loved one how they should feel and i always have the utmost respect and sympathy for the families that are left to deal with that tragic loss. That being said, i personally feel like something very beautiful can playout when a tragic story is told via the power of film, with the ability to not only touch millions upon millions with the tragically heroic story that unfortunately came to be, but furthermore, introduce a fallen loved one to a world of people that otherwise may have never even known of their existence. And what's more, the fact that film is now essentially immortalized in todays world and will exist.. indefinitely, and 50 years from now, or 100, or 200... Centuries after today's world has passed, some1 somewhere will watch (or even just hear about) that "film" that is now forever part of our history. Knowing that that individual was here, even if only for a short time, but frankly just knowing that person was part of the same world, and that person lived and loved and WAS loved..n then ultimately gone in what feels like just an instant. But when its all said n done.. THEY WERE HERE. And i find that to be immensely powerful. I truly do.
I understand that woman’s emotions. It’s completely understandable. But these brave mens story needs to be told. People need to know about these men. I’m sorry for her loss but stories like this mean that the memories of heroes live forever.
TO THE FAMILY OF TRAVIS T I HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A CHANGE OF HEART AND VIEWED THE MOVIE"ONLY THE BRAVE" SINCE SEEING THE MOVIE I HAVE TRIED TO FIND AS MUCH AS I COULD ABOUT EACH AND EVERYONE OF THESE AMAZING YOUNG MEN.TIME GOES ON MEMORIES FADE BUT TRAVIS AND HIS FALLEN BROTHERS WILL LIVE ON FOREVER...AS THEY SHOULD. AFTER THE ANGER THERE SHOULD BE PRIDE
DEB Flaherty to the family of Travis and all the others, I pray peace and comfort to you. The reality you live each day is not one I would wish to experience myself, and would wish on no one else. You may never read this comment, but know that there are those of us out here who respect your grief and simply pray for emotional and spiritual healing. As the Holiday season comes nigh, may you find comforting memories of your lost loved ones, and continued hope to move forward a little more each day.
Because of this movie, Only The Brave, I was able to understand the difference between a structure and a wildland firefighter. I can understand why some of the family members didn't agree to make this movie, but I think of it as a tribute to the fallen firefighters. Also, this movie is a way to show others what sacrifices these firefighters had to make, as well as their family. Not only the firefighters, but their family members also sacrificed a lot to support the men for their job. It is an eye opener. And though the movie was so sad, I have watched it many times since last week. I still cry. God bless their souls.
I don't think this was Hollywood trying to make a buck. This movie was truly beautiful. And showed a side to firefighting i never knew about. Ive shed multiple tears during this movie. Im glad they made this movie. The story needed to be told. And persevered. God bless granite mountain hotshots.
The movie gave me chills especially the shelter scene I damn near cried, in turn it made me really get into researching the real Granite Mountain Hotshots as it may be tough for the families this movie also made a lot of people interested in the true story behind it, it was a GREAT movie and similar to Black Hawk Down it was pretty accurate to actual events not a bunch of hollywood stuff.
I understand why they might not want the movie made, but as someone from the outside who didn’t know the story other than a vague memory of the news coverage, it made me laugh, and cry and research these men and their lives. Most of them younger than me. I’m heartbroken. I think it was a beautiful tribute and way to honor and share the story of these brave men.
I watched this movie not knowing about it or what was even gonna happen and it broke my heart, I never expected them to die and for it to be a true story. If it wasn't for Only The Brave I would never have known what these amazing men did trying to save lives
I watched this film 4 times in a row...why? Because of the character development. I never completely understood what Hot Shots did until this film nor realized just how dangerous it is. I felt like I got to know this band of brothers a little, and wish so much I could actually know them. It's an EXCELLENT film and should have won Best Picture. Anyway...to the mother who didn't want the film made about her son...maybe in time, you'll be able to watch it, maybe never. Just know that most of the country would not know anything about what your son did, nor the others had it not been for this film. Those nineteen guys were so special...all firefighters are and I am glad I know particularly about the Granite Mt Hot Shots! kl xoxooxoxxooxxo
I think it was a great idea. I use to be a forest fire fighter in bc Canada and I heard a little about this but over time I forgot about it. I watched this movie an I will never forget them. It helps people learn about history and remember those people. To people that fight fires it’s their job to others they are heroes.
This movie has a Deepwater Horizon feeling. During the movie it has its laughs but at the end you feel for the men and their families and for sum people including me it will make you cry like a baby.
Only the Brave reminded of End of Watch. Though End of Watch wasn't a true story, you grew a kind of bond to the characters in it and the end ripped your heart out. After watching the final scene when Brendan makes it to the gym and everyone finds out he was the only survivor, I thought, "Man this is really sad." But when the credits rolled and said it was a true story, it really made me tear up. This is a good movie that honors great men.
I KNOW THIS HAS TO BE HARD ON THE FAMILIES .I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOTSHOTS EXISTED AFTER THE MOVIE I TOOK GREAT INTEREST IN FINDING OUT WHO THESE AMAZING BRAVE YOUNG MEN WERE...WHAT MAKES SOMEONE DO THE JOB THEY DO. I BELIEVE THESE MEN EACH AND EVERYONE ARE AMAZING SELFLESS BRAVE MEN. WHO LIVED LIFE FLAT OUT NO REGRETS.EVERY LIFE THEY TOUCHED WAS BETTER BECAUSE OF THEM. THE IMPACT OF THOSE ARE OBVIOUS. I'M GLAD THE MOVIE WAS MADE THIS WAY AS TIME GOES BY MEMORIES FADE BUT THEY BECAUSE OF THIS MOVIE WILL BE REMEMBERED.
As an ex long time Wildland guy I will never watch this movie. The Wildland Fire community is a small one and we watch out for each other. While I didn't know these guys they are all Brothers, that's just how it is. I remember crying three times in my adult life and June 30 2013 was one of those times. This was a tragic horrible loss that hit hard and devastated their Family, Friends and rocked the Wildland Fire Community. That a Movie was made detailing the loss of these Men, resulting in People making Money because of it discusses me. These Men deserve without doubt to be immortalised, they earned that, but there are far better ways.
i think they did right by these men...they deserve to be remembered and this may be one time hollywood got it right...and i don't think it was about making a buck, as she put it...the director and actors really wanted to tell this story...and it didn't make as much money as it should have, in my opinion..sad that it takes a movie to reach some people who don't pay attention to real news, but i'm glad the movie exists, i'm glad i can honor them and remember them
Now I’m not trying to Knit pick or anything but I’m pretty sure that crew picture shown at 1:07 is of the Prescott Hotshots for the FS and not Granite Mountain
We all cope differently, and I don't know the pain of losing a child. However, this movie told the incredible story which many never would've heard about as a tribute and honor to these men and their families. I am all against holllywood making a buck, but this was not one of those movies. Each actor put their heart into the shoes of the men that passed. God Bless, them and what a tragic loss.
Without the movie it a lot harder to understand what they did and how important they were. I could never respect them as much without the movie, I learned a lot from it and I think it was a masterpiece
I have this movie and I almost cry at the end of the move and during the moments when they were all getting under the shelters and I knew the they weren't going to get back up my among us name is the brave 19
If it was about someone you love you should at least give it a chance! At least one time. I know it's hard but they would have wanted people to see what they did and what they fought so hard to do
There is making a movie to make a buck like NWA or the Tupac movie where they half ass the truths and disrespectfully make a buck......and then there's make a buck but giving it all the respect it deserves. Im so glad they made this movie God bless them all and RIP. I hi five, tip my hat, and pour my drink thanking God for people like your son in which I've gotten the honor to somewhat get to know all these firefighters through this movie just a tiny bit. So sad
Thats actually really rude. Try & imagine what they feel like. And I believe they wouldn't watch anything similar cos it would exasperate their anxiety regards their loss 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
The couple times they showed a group picture of the hotshots in front of the green “ buggy’s “, if you look close, those buggy’s belong to the Prescott Hotshots who work for the federal government and are also located in Prescott … not sure the hotshots in front of those buggy’s were Granite Mountain HS.. could’ve been Prescott HS… just saying … Granite mountain hotshots rest in peace 10 years this June 30
This is an Outstanding Movie Deserving of better Marketing from Black Label than what their efforts. EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE for the Relationship portrayals and examples of Marriage Family children and Comradery between brothers. The Music the casting the script were all Spectacular and the release date probably kept many from seeing such a dramatic reenactment during another out of control Wildfire in California at the time of release. The name was a duplicate of a WWII Japanese veterans film and was not the best for these Hotshots. A better name would have been Granite mountain Hotshots or the Yarnell Hill Fire Fighters.
I am so sorry that you lost your son to this terrible fire however Madame you are so narrow-minded in what this movie can be... Yes somebody made a dollar off this story and honestly that's not okay however this story needed to be told in such a way that it could Inspire countless Millions who might not know the story of the Yarnell fire and also just maybe it will inspire somebody to develop a better fire shelter and comms system (with individual firefighter tracking) so we can protect these brave men and women. I don't think we want to make a part 2.
Not the worst. On October 3, 1933, 29 men were reported killed as they tried to fight a wildfire that flared up in Griffith Park's Mineral Wells Canyon.
I am 7 yrs old and I saw that movie and at the end I was like… THEY DIED IN THE MOVIE WHYYYYYYYYYYYY I was literally crying my eyes out. And I was like I didn’t know it was going to end like that.
When it comes to knowing history, history needs to be documented especially about important events. Imagine not documenting the holocaust because some people felt that it was disrespectful.
I find it interesting how some of the families have a problem with this film showing the tragedy and think it's just for them to make a quick buck. Meanwhile, its ok for us to watch plenty of war movies, based on true events and real stories, and seeing how many soldiers died for their country and I can guarantee you that they have seen plenty of war or war hero movies. What about the families of those people who lost their lives in their service, many of them have no problem with showing the courageous acts that they did and being proud of what they've done. So that is basically Hollywood trying to make a quick buck too? I find it interesting, but just my opinion though.

Nobody would ever agree. All the families should not have been denied the tribute just because 1 family member said no
me too when this movie helped open my eyes about what happened
This movie was made out of respect and showed many a job not many knew about
correct and a truthfull comment

When I went to see Only the Brave, I didn't know I was watching one of the five greatest films of the year 2017.

We can't say what they should or shouldnt feel. At the end of the day they are just hurting
Can’t say it any better than this… perhaps in time …
Movies like this are very much indeed.... “TRIBUTES” to the people who lost their lives doing what they do best and doing what they LOVED to do, plain an simple.... its the TRUTH. I’m very glad this movie was made. 3 movies in which were made...
1). DEEPWATER HORIZON
2). PATRIOTS DAY (about the Boston Bombing).
3). ONLY THE BRAVE
All needed to be made and thanks to those who can recreate, to show us a glimpse into what really was & really happened. 👍👍👍👍👍
Loren Kolb those 3 plus LONE SURVIVOR are my favorite movies
Also the movie "Everest" based on the 1996 tragedy was a great movie.
Bredan wrote the book on it its to commemorate them
Its never better to not "see" something.. idiot
This movie inspired me to do something with my life. I had no idea who or what these guys go through. And now more than ever I want to be a hotshot
Great Educational And Honorable Movie...Very Sad...Made Me Cry...R.I.P to these Brave Men...May God Bless You All Always ❤️🌻❤️
Those men are absolute LEGENDS
It would be nice to see all the money from the movie go to the families!
MtB ArN none of it did, I'm from that small town, and I knew the mother of one of the men who died and it's truly a tragedy Hollywood took to make a quick buck, none of the funds are going to the children of the father's who died, nothing, who wants to see a family member die again? A terrible painful death at that
Hollywood actually lost about 13.1 Million Dollars on this film.
missmaccoroni2000 the movie didn’t do that well financially.
missmaccoroni2000 that’s because they didn’t make any money on this film... they lost money
I'm an offshore worker. If I die I pray it's in a final act of heroism worthy of a movie. That way my sons have something to be proud of.
I would not know of these firefighters if it werent for the movie.
as a firefighter and miss my brother's I'm glad it was made ...made me a better man and yes I cried
From one wildland firefighter to all the others a spin-off of a Shakespeare quote those who burn for me shall forever be my brothers
Thanks for doin what you do
Best movie I've seen !
You should really watch more videos
Rob 7 I agree with her but I do have a personal bias towards this line of work.
I'm a wildland firefighter. I think this film captured the brotherhood and tragedy of wildfire. Our brothers in arms, please do rest in peace.
rip salute from Malaysia
I'm very thankful the movie was made. I wouldnt have known anything about the story or the brave men without it. Within a month of seeing the film I found myself planning a trip from VA to Prescott to walk the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial trail. One of the most surreal things I have done being on the mountain knowing the story of those brave men. Everyone should make the trip to pay respects.
I think it was important that it was made into a movie I didn't know at all about them until I heard about only the brave. They deserve to have their courage and sacrifice shown to everyone so everyone can know about them.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE. ILL WATCH IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. OUR AZ HEROES.
I was a type 2 firefight er git to work with these guys before I ventured to another job
I truly do.
im happy it was made so when younger generations see it they will know of the brave men who perished. RIP granite mountain
They are just in pain. They are legends to everyone now that it is made.
I don't think this was Hollywood trying to make a buck. This movie was truly beautiful. And showed a side to firefighting i never knew about. Ive shed multiple tears during this movie. Im glad they made this movie. The story needed to be told. And persevered. God bless granite mountain hotshots.
I love movies, and all the special feelings that brings me to them.
Their stories needed to be told. If it wasn’t for this film I wouldn’t know about those heros.
I watched this movie not knowing about it or what was even gonna happen and it broke my heart, I never expected them to die and for it to be a true story. If it wasn't for Only The Brave I would never have known what these amazing men did trying to save lives
BEST MOVIE EVER !!!!! YOU DONE THEM PROUD
They should make this movie just to share the proud of Granite Mountain Hotshots to the world. They are heroes.
The parent's that disapprove are deluded by grief. I dont blame them nothing. I hope for them they can one day watch the movie.
This movie really bothered me, I cried so much. RIP to those heroes!
I loved your story
Without this movie most of us would’ve never known this happened
I teared up watching this film. I am so glad they made this film it showed us the public what these brave fire fighters go through RIP hero's
Well said.
"Only the brave enjoy noble and glorious deaths,"
i think they did right by these men...they deserve to be remembered and this may be one time hollywood got it right...and i don't think it was about making a buck, as she put it...the director and actors really wanted to tell this story...and it didn't make as much money as it should have, in my opinion..sad that it takes a movie to reach some people who don't pay attention to real news, but i'm glad the movie exists, i'm glad i can honor them and remember them
So brave. UK
I had not heard of the Yarnell fire. After watching the movie, I was inspired to research more into it.
Yarnell Hill Fire Revelations blog has information too.
RESPECT
This movie helped push me to join. I’m training to be a wild land fire fighter. Rest In Peace and I hope I can be half the man any of these guys were
I think movies have always been the best way to honor real life heroes or situations
Now I’m not trying to Knit pick or anything but I’m pretty sure that crew picture shown at 1:07 is of the Prescott Hotshots for the FS and not Granite Mountain
Delta 5 Firecrew serviver 2001-02 C.C.C in Stockton ca
We all cope differently, and I don't know the pain of losing a child. However, this movie told the incredible story which many never would've heard about as a tribute and honor to these men and their families. I am all against holllywood making a buck, but this was not one of those movies. Each actor put their heart into the shoes of the men that passed. God Bless, them and what a tragic loss.
They should exactly make this movie.
This movie wasn’t about making money it was about honoring those men
Without the movie it a lot harder to understand what they did and how important they were. I could never respect them as much without the movie, I learned a lot from it and I think it was a masterpiece
It wd help to know what some of the terminology they use means
While it is hindsight this may help: www.wildlandfire.com/docs/fire-glossary.htm
I have this movie and I almost cry at the end of the move and during the moments when they were all getting under the shelters and I knew the they weren't going to get back up my among us name is the brave 19
If it was about someone you love you should at least give it a chance! At least one time. I know it's hard but they would have wanted people to see what they did and what they fought so hard to do
Love the Movie
There is making a movie to make a buck like NWA or the Tupac movie where they half ass the truths and disrespectfully make a buck......and then there's make a buck but giving it all the respect it deserves. Im so glad they made this movie God bless them all and RIP. I hi five, tip my hat, and pour my drink thanking God for people like your son in which I've gotten the honor to somewhat get to know all these firefighters through this movie just a tiny bit. So sad
I bet the families that were against it had no problem watching any other true event movie though.
Edgy
mrnike247365 true af
Thats actually really rude.
Try & imagine what they feel like.
And I believe they wouldn't watch anything similar cos it would exasperate their anxiety regards their loss 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
The couple times they showed a group picture of the hotshots in front of the green “ buggy’s “, if you look close, those buggy’s belong to the Prescott Hotshots who work for the federal government and are also located in Prescott … not sure the hotshots in front of those buggy’s were Granite Mountain HS.. could’ve been Prescott HS… just saying …
Granite mountain hotshots rest in peace 10 years this June 30
They made a movie about it sir because the world needs to know. To talk it away and never talk about it again would be a disservice to the brave 19
The one lady is right... Hollywood making a buck is the only reason that movie was made. That money should go to the families
Fact
I am 7 yrs old and I saw that movie and at the end I was like… THEY DIED IN THE MOVIE WHYYYYYYYYYYYY
I was literally crying my eyes out. And I was like I didn’t know it was going to end like that.
Maria Manila 7 years old?Tell your parents nice job on their parenting skills..A 7 yr old should not be on social media period.
I know someone who is in the movie he sitting right beside me as a right This
When it comes to knowing history, history needs to be documented especially about important events. Imagine not documenting the holocaust because some people felt that it was disrespectful.
The movie was sad
Plush Vlogs When Eric's wife screamed, I broke down in tears myself and held onto my husband for dear life! I couldn't imagine what that feel like.
How would she knows if she never seen it
Time to become a hotshot
Yet footballers get thousands a week. This world is upside down 💔
I find it interesting how some of the families have a problem with this film showing the tragedy and think it's just for them to make a quick buck.
