I am going to be 68 next week and I have been rocking with Aaron Neville for close to fifty years this is my favourite song by him but I've never seen this video before I'm loving the afro and the dress clothing and my God he is gorgeous❤❤❤❤❤
This was Aarons first recording in 1966 and put him on the map because it was a hit. I've loved him and his brothers ever since. This is greatness beyond measure.
38 myself and grew up on oldies as well from my parents as well. The music is so much more pure and relatable compared to the shit music of today. Keep vibin the way mom showed through their own time. Cheers 🍺
Im 21 years old but the music from the 40’s and beyond fascinates me. What a time to be alive back then even though I’ve never experienced it, the fashion of this period was the absolute best.
My friends and I from the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, travelled to N'Orleans to shoot this show with David McBurnett. Loved every second of it. Still do. Great music.
I never heard of them until my girlfriend bought us some tickets for a concert in Portland, Oregon in the 90's. They were great, I've been a fan ever since.
This hit from The Neville Brothers was heard on the Miami Vice episode, The Prodigal Son, which aired on September 27, 1985. Miami Vice will always be one of my favorite shows. It was the first to combine MTV with police action drama.
Although this is much more as Aaron Neville would have sounded back in late-1966 and early-1967 on the original recorded version of the song as it reached #2 for one week in January 1967.
By the way, it's not Unknown. It was at the Saenger Theater. Great venue back then. Now, in 2021, I understand it has been renovated and may be better than ever.
I saw Arthell Neville and that song just popped in my memory. Remembering Aaron's unique voice I googled the song and I'm here listening. "Take me back". Loved the song when I was a young girl and I still do!
I remember very clearly putting up white foam cards (as those set pieces you see backing the stage) because we couldn't afford to have a set built from scratch, and the Video Lighting Director could not live with flat-black curtains behind the performers. Fishing line and foamcore. Ah, the good old days. Listening to Aaron and his family & friends was so worth it; on a national scene, they were and are underrated musicians.
Hello! Are you referring to this specific performance? I am looking for information on this performance as I am a producer interested in licensing a clip of this for a documentary on New Orleans Jazz history? Any idea who might own the rights to this video?
I'm 3 yrs old, propped up on a stool 🤦 My dad and uncle shooting pool won't say where 🤣🤣🤣 And this is playing on the jukebox Here in socal I could never forget that voice!!!

Who is the dude playing the organ hitting the sweet falsetto?
Answered my own question. Did some research and found that Gerald "professor shorthair" Tillman is the guy singing the falsetto and playing the organ.
Everyone was fuuuuucked up
Just a guess, but I wonder if this "unknown" recording was during a Zulu ball
