Miami Vice was a movie a week in its early years. Movie level production quality from, Miichael Mann, tight scripting, acting. The pan showing the shooter's donuts, coffee, how he was living - great attention to detail you don't see much now.
Plottwist- The sniper was actually Lt. Martin Castillo. He wanted the position so bad.
LOL
Well done 🎉
Lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How he has blonde hair
Rest In Peace Mr Gregory Sierra.
True...died 4th january 2021....RIP.
Papillon
He swallowed a grenade in Hot Shots: Part Deux.
Gregory Sierra was brilliant in Barney Miller and Sanford & Son.

Gregory Sierra, AKA Lou Rodriguez, Has Passed Away At The Age Of Eighty Three. Cause Of Death, Not Yet Reported. Rest In Peace, Gregory Sierra.
Murder = 83 in Gematria which is the language of the Cabal and murder is the sport of the Elite as sung by the Police in 1983.
Great actor.
Why did he always leave shows early like Barney Miller and Miami Vice?
@@robertpreston2220 I don't know the details but he needed out of his Miami Vice contract in a hurry. That's why they killed him off & replaced him with Edward James Olmos.
@@richardlahan7068 Interesting, ok thanks
I think this is the best episode! The Russ Ballard song at the end was perfectly placed!
And then Ballard's tune "Voices" in part 2..paired with the Chris Craft 390x..
To help get potential cast members more into character, they were taken on stakeouts by the real Miami Vice unit. While auditioning for the role of Sonny Crockett, Don Johnson came into a script reading for the producers directly from an all night stakeout. He was tired, his hair was a mess, and he hadn't shaved that morning. That look showed the producers what a real life vice cop would look like following a long night of work, and he was hired immediately.
Thats awesome. At least in the early years they really did feature and work with real police officers for authenticity.
He was a great actor on the characters he played.Going miss him
I forgot until now he was in _Honey, I Blew Up the Kid_
Oh man. Just googled Gregory Sierra to look him up again and found out he had just died. What are the odds. Rest in Peace Gregory Sierra...
Me too !
They're gonna call it corona.

Gregory Sierra also played the first priest in John Carpenter's Vampires.

Calderon’s Return: Part 1....Return of Calderon Parts 1 & 2 were the two best episodes of that entire TV series, imho.

And also Deep Cover.
_Honey, I Blew Up the Kid_ too
Very versatile actor!
Rest in peace Gregory Sierra Lieutenant Rodriguez
If you wanna understand the 80s and early 90s..watch this show
This show was gold
Gregory Sierra was an integral part of so many great televisions series from Sanford and Son to Barney Miller all the way to MIAMI VICE and more.
I hope that he got all of the credit he deserves and MORE.
EVERYTHING that man "touched" turned to "CLASSIC TV" GOLD.
He should've had his own series.
Whenever I saw him on my television, I knew something cool was about to happen.
Thank you sir for all of the special memories.
Do you know why he was on this series for such a short period of time? (Honest question, I don't know the answer.)
@@Sifo_Dyas I think they were in the process of feeling things out based on the response to the pilot episode and chemistry with the cast. Seems to be the case with a lot of shows when they're first starting out (plus contract disputes and money).
@Stefano Pavone In the New York Times obituary for Gregory Sierra his wife Helene was quoted as saying,
"He did not like Miami and some of the people he worked with, he gave up a lot to leave the show.”
@@Sifo_Dyas Like they said, he wasn't happy residing Miami for the show's production
This t.v series was like a movie.
jim zubaena with that el presidente draw WAS BEAUTIFUL during the episode he was a total master
So many classic actors in this series unlike todays all pretty people templetes.
And some of them are Only artificial intelligence they're not real .
Those extras were actual cops. They weren’t just bit actors. They was actually being themselves. You won’t see that in TV shows today.
During the opening shot in this video I'm 90% certain that we're getting a glimpse of the motivation behind Ave Ventura pet detective.
Tonight on _Miami Vice,_ Crockett gets the boss a coffee!
Hahahahahaha. That’s his older brother. Jack Ventura
Jim Zubena was a real-life competitive shooter and a national championship level shooter with a pistol, rifle, or shotgun. The first time, when they did the scene of his first shootout, it had to be redone because he was faster than the camera people could go. He, later on, was one of the guys who taught Don Johnson how to be so expert at his "gunplay."
I've had a crush on Don Johnson since Miami Vice premiered. Mature Don Johnson is just as 🔥 Miami Vice Don Johnson. He'll still be good looking when he's 90 ♥️
Gregory Sierra!
Jim Zubiena.....baddest cat on TV, and didn’t say a word........
His shooting skills did his talking… Word !!!
it was a scope lens reflection..
That moment when Lou (Gregory Sierra) sees the muzzle flash from the Freedom Tower and pushes Crockett just in time.
I thought it was the suns reflection off the scope. Thats usually how snipers are spotted.
@@gregoryjohnson9733 Very true as well. But you hear the shot.
@@evieraotacon Lou is already running to save Crocket when the Sniper pulls the trigger. What you saw was the reflection off of the scope.
@@tbonilla6922 Yes you see Lou running towards Crockett through the scope. But then how come you hear a pop. Since when did glares ever pop??? At 3:56 it shows.
Gentleman.. One thing is for sure, and must be remembered, ITS A FREAKING MOVIE FOR GODS SAKE,,,GET A LIFE.
RIP Gregory Sierra
I want a chrome 1911 and a donut 🍩!
Just realized the donut and spilled coffee tipped him off at his x wife’s house.
lmao
Crockett didn't have a 1911. It was a hard chromed Bren Ten in the first two seasons.
@@Sifo_Dyas look at the video. The sniper has both the donut and the Colt.
@@ftdefiance1 dude! And that's probably Jim Zubiena's personal gun. Hopefully this channel shows the scene from later in this episode where Jim does the Mozambique.
Back when dot matrix printers printing photos in terrible resolution was still cool.
my favorite kind of donut, although I'm used to the cylindrical sprinkles not the round ones
Rodriguez was the man. Take a bullet for another officer...true courage and grit. Nothing against Castillo...RIP Gregory Sierra.
Is there any Miami Vice episode with a happy ending???
A..Rest In Peace Julio Fuentes
God bless you,Lou
One of the best episodes. A real hard to catch villain who got what he deserved.
I don’t know about anybody else, but I liked Lou Rodriguez Over Martin Castillo! It was a shame they killed his character off! But It did propel the Calderone beef even more between Tubbs, and Crocket! R.I.P. Gregory Sierra!
Gregory asked to be written out of the series because he didn't want to reside in Miami for the show's production.
Totally.
I feel Lou didn't had a character. He was like the stock boss character. He liked to smoke cigars, trusted C and T and let them do go solo, but other than that we didn't see any other side of him. Castillo on the other hand.. Just watch Olmos interview on how he crafted the character. He pushed Johnson and Thomas' great acting even higher, by never allowing them to take shortcuts.
@@TufteMotorsport Castillo was awesome, too. But idk, i prefered Lou.
Good show. Thanks for uploading this
aww yeah, synthesizer is spot on!
Fred Sanford's Friend Julio lol.
bye mister rodriguez...good luck...
Gregorio Sierra Dios lo tenga en la gloria 🙏
Wow, I thought the guy on the left in the beginning was Ace Ventura...😂
Best cop show ever❗️💥
After Lt. Rodriguez was killed, Lt. Castillo (Edward James Olmos) took over for the rest of the series.
Does anybody remember him from The Towering Inferno when he played the kind of bartender who made the ice cream sodas for the two kids
I just couldn’t get used to seeing Julio Fuentes as a lieutenant. Where’s Chico?
I always thought Gregory Sierra did a good job with the role...no need for a change in my opinion!
He wanted out, they didn't cut him....they got Castillo which was perfect....
YT algorithm brought one of the most my memorable show Miami Vice into my page and then I realized that Gregory Sierra passes away just a few weeks ago! 😪
Julio Fuentes RIP.
Loved him
Well you play a drug dealer you make ennemies. No wonder people kept dying on the show.
Was that ACE VENTURA ?
That combover on Lou is amazing.
After so many years I still love this show ❤️🌹 I live in South Africa and a teenager in school when they show aired on television 📺 I wore all the clothing.... white, grey, blue, black, shoes, ties, shirts.... all the bells and whistles!! 😁 They do not manufacture clothing the same way nowadays. The style, colours and materials were awesome 😼😎 Nothing like the 80's and early 90's. Those were the days!! 🌹❤️😼😎
This is one of Gregory SierraTV credits that seems to get overlooked. LT. Rodriguez on the 1st season of MV.
When the actor wants to leave the show...
Was Rodriguez always planned to be a short-timer, to be replaced by Castillo?
Read that he did not like the hot weather of Miami and wanted to quit.
@@urutoraseven also Michael Mann wanted a subtler, more quietly intense character and was aching to work with Olmos
No, they hired him, and a couple episodes in, several factors (trouble in his personal affairs, complaints about the weather in Miami) led him to ask to leave the role.
It's too bad -- I really liked the character; that whole connection with Sonny was quite cool, but his departure definitely kickstarted the series as a whole.
So this was the time when people still smoked in buildings. 🥵
Right? ..and since when did Ace Ventura smoke anyways??😂 (check the beginning out again - I almost spit my drink out..)
@@FanFanBessie2 The ship’s design in this episode is the same as the Rip Hunter craft used in “Yesterday is tomorrow … “
Yes you could smoke in buildings, restaurants ,banks, on airplanes, etc. There were very few non-smoking places. There was even a smoking section in every public high school . the '80's were AWESOME.
@@joshuatrotter25 no no that was terrible ...

Q.E.P.D Gregory!
3:54 Rodriguez gets shot
The old sun reflecting off the scope lens cliche........
Have you ever known a girl that "was prettier then the sun glinting of a rifle barrel" ?
💟💟💟 From Evil Roy Slade
Not a cliche, they have a cover for that
Is a really
I thought it was the muzzle flash that he saw
That voice of the detective at 3:06 sounds like one of the Feds in Stone's War.
You are right! It’s the same actor.
RIP Gregory Sierra
Gregory Sierra Still regret quitting the show
SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA!!!
Pure vice pal, Vice! 😃
The moment of the Muami Vice boss change sets the tone on how future characters get changed in the future, for example Zito in a later episode. You thought a character was permanent and them blam!
Actually at the time everyone knew Zito was leaving. They even told people so in the press beforehand, cuz they didn't want people to be pissed. Only thing was how he was gonna leave
@@napoleonwilson6499 the actor who played Zito wanted to do other roles. Acting is like business. You could make it bigger or not depending on which direction you take.
@Stefano Pavone You bet it is true! Other modern shows with up and down perceived quality problems are Star Trek Discovery and Picard as the cast changes.
@Stefano Pavone - Exactly, and I've said this on other videos as well. Once Zito leaves, it's like the show crew gets replaced by an entirely different team and the mood of the entire series changes. Diehl was smart to get out when he did.
From where get all the movie snipers the keys for the high buildings and the safety never been disturbed by a janitor? Once on vacaction in Miami I tried to get inside this tower, it wasn't possible.
I always wondered how it was that Crockett could get away with keeping Elvis the alligator when's the ASPCA what are the laws of the State of Florida have something to say about that
This guy’s character wasn’t working out so they brought in Castillo right afterwards
I heard Gregory Sierra didn’t like livin in Miami, which is why they killed his character off. And I understand Miami is hot. But wish he could’ve stayed on longer.
Gregory would’ve been great as Luis Sierra re 4 remake. If he was still alive
There were two shots. You hear them. I always thought that there was another twist or angle, like maybe Lou was a secondary target. Was the second shot meant for Lou?
Stop a minute. The accutle tape recording? is golden.
R.I.P. GREGORY SIERRA.
Analog quality. The video, thank you, lol.
Love the close up of the M1911 and a half-eaten donut!
The shooter was not calisto people put it that it was calrone cronies

What cop leaves his loaded gun lying around.......Crockett.
He also played in the movie 🎬 deep undercover with Lawrence Fishburn as a Drug lord he was definitely! A excellent actor R.IP Gregory Sheria.

Det. Sgt. Chano Amiguale was tired of the NY winters and moved to Miami.

There have been several comments made that the producers weren't thinking right to bump Greg sierra off the show. I just finished watching an interview where it was disclosed that it was sierra who wanted off the show.
Lou was a great actor. That sniper the Argentinean....that was a long distance shot that hit Lou
Why do you always set the music at a higher volume than the clips?
