Let’s Take A Walk Over The Croswell Swinging Bridge! Croswell, Michigan

- The swinging bridge is roughly 139 feet and spans over the black river. It connects both sides of Riverbend Park. It was built in 1905 at an original cost of $300. It provide workers at the Michigan Sugar Factory who lived on the other side of the river with an easier way to get to work. At one time, the bridge had signs at each end. At the west end a sign read "Love Ye One Another" and at the east end a sign read "Be Good To Your Mother-in-law." Today, there is still a sign at the east end that reads "Be Good To Your Mother-in-law" but no sign is present at the west end.

Oh man did that bring back memories... My grandma lived on the Black River in Croswell... I would have to sneak across the bridge as a kid... Because if my older brothers and cousins caught me crossing... They would try their hardest to bounce me right off, Lol 😊✌️
That’s a great memory. That bridge can still bounce you around pretty good. There’s always someone on it that likes to bounce on it and scare you.
