    I think least count can be directly related to Number of divisions on main scale and indirectly related to number of divisions on vernier scale..

    If the no of divisions on VERNIER scale is x the no. Of divisions on main scale will always equal to x-1 ??I m really confused pls help 😭

      Not always. In the numericals you may be asked that 18MSD matches with 20th VSD. Then apply the formula 1MSD - 1 VSD

      Then by default you can use any formula assuming n-1 divisions coincides with n divisions

      Not always. Least count depends upon the number of vernier divisions
