The second machine was the only one that was extremely fast.
Looks there would be a lot of manual labor after using those "drill" grinders.

Using an Earth mover shovel to dig out the stump and roots is the best solution. All methods shown here involve a lot of physical labor to clean up the mess. An Earth mover will level the ground after stump removal without human labor..

What do you do with the stumps?
Shedhunter 8 I use an Earth mover that digs out stumps from the grounds in one piece. You level the ground after that and that's the end of the stump. The stump is left out in the monsoon to wash of the Earth and then used as firewood.

Grind??? I just use the Dozer, (Case D1150 skip loader/extenda hoe) push the tree over up rooting the stump like pulling a molar tooth. LOL

The problem I have is a couple BIG stumps close to the house. One is actually right against the concrete of basement. Soooo, yeah none of these would work. These are great for big open spaces! Unlimited options for those scenarios. Have yet to figure out how I can get rid of this one stump against the house.. Can't use stump grinder or burn it out and all the chemical stump killers just don't work. Maybe I should leave it alone and somehow make it into something pretty :)
Denice Fithian Do what ever is necessary to get down to ground level ,let it rot , don't let the wood bees get in it .Keep filling with dirt .
You dig them out.. Shovel a foot deep and chain saw the biggest roots and pull it out.
The 2 "stump grinders" would work with an experienced operator.
When your foundation was installed the roots were cut on that side. Very carefully dig and rip it away. Then backfill with good material

More info on the bucket-like cutter (or horizontal ripper?) with serrated teeth? What is it called? Where can it be purchased for a compact tractor/excavator? Can't read the markings - something like "CS xxxgreen."

Be better just to dig it up, you still have roots if you grind it out you cant get all the roots by grinding the stump.
Realistic Views a bucket instead of the grinder/shaver/drill. Much cheaper and stronger
