One is one of the most disliked cameras of all time while the other is one of the most loved. And no the 6D isn't the most loved.
But actually both are pretty good and today we're going to talk about which one might work better for an online content creator!

From what I saw the 6DM2 right now is back to 1299.99 until March 2nd. With that being said I agree with all your points. As a once 6DM2 user it was a great all arounder. It wasn't excellent at everything but did get the job done. It was my first FF DSLR until I sold it for the R as a backup to the 5DM4. That Sony A7III though. Would love to see what that is about. Used to hate Sony but willing to give it a shot. Ugggh I miss the days where you could buy a decent camera and it would last for years. Seems like cameras are being refreshed almost as fast as smartphones. Great video
They're doing it like cell phones now where they're forcing you to buy a new camera body every year by crippling their new offerings. My 5diii lasted me 5 years and I didn't feel the need to upgrade until I wanted to go into youtube/videography and the DPAF just wasn't there. Ended up getting the 6dii a year ago and it's OK at best. The images are softer, and the video capabilities are lacking without 4k and the IPB codec isn't sharp. Really wish canon would provide a sony a7iii equivalent because I think that would bring all their customers back especially with the crazy RF lens lineup soon to be released.
I LUVZZZ the screen on the 6D Mark II. It's bright, it's big, it looks good. The other thing I dig about the 6D Mark II is the volume. It's pretty loud. I take vidz and I play them back for the people around me and they can actually hear it. The 6D Mark II is like having both the 80D and 6D in one. I personally like the digital image stabilization, I think it's works and it's actually pretty good.

what is that mount you use?
In auto mode outside I leaned towards the Canon. Inside in auto I leaned towards the Sony. When you switched to the (presumably dialed in) GH5, I preferred that 🤣Nice video.

Given that you can use your phone as both a remote and a monitor, the flip screen isn't a huge selling feature for me. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely the better option, but you get most of the way there with the phone app, and it's easy to mount your phone into the hot shoe, so if I need to see myself I have an easy option that costs $0 (or close to $0 if you need to buy a mount for the phone)
Chris K my experience with using a phone for autofocus is pretty delayed but could have just been the setups I’ve used.
@@sahzookey I had a similar problem until I noticed that you're supposed to have bluetooth turned off when using it. Once I turned blutooth off the app became much more usable (which is to say, usable at all :P)

Great video for the upcoming EOS RP dropping tomorrow. It should have what they wanted to put into the 6D Mark III but saved for the RP, but everyone thinks its the Mark II sensor. Eh we just gotta wait till tomorrow.

Strange the 6D MK 2 looked less jittery and it has no IBIS
6dii has ibis
I think it’s because it’s heavier. Seriously heavier camera generally have less shake because it’s harder to transfer your actual handshake through it.
No DSLR has ibis unfortunately.
@@TheEverydayDad yep - it makes a difference - I fix my big fluid head to the bottom of my camera as I don't have IBIS - works a treat on a FF.

Dslr’s are not dead and won’t be soon because we need robust bodies and I once switched to a a7s mkii and it broke down when I was hiking and it fell on the ground and just to give you an idea I dropped my 1DX MK2 at the bottom of a lake and it stay there for maybe 1 or 2 minutes and still works perfectly fine

6D colors were more pleasing. Outdoors the sony auto ISO was doing way better, kept everything exposed perfectly. The Canon looked terrible though I assume if you exposed manually they'd match pretty well. I'd probably prefer the Canon for vlogging, though with a smaller lens lol.
I was shocked at how much I liked the colors from the 6d.
I wasn’t really impressed with either cameras auto exposure outdoors and would manually set it if I were going to use the camera solo in a video 👍
A7 III autofocus in my opinion basically same as this magical canon dualpixel.
I disagree, plus the Sony’s face tracking has issues if plugged into a monitor.
Maybe once it gets the firmware update that gives it the same auto focus as the a6400.

@@TheEverydayDad Gerald Undone pointed out recording to an external device while using it solves the issue.
But if you don’t have an external recorder and use a monitor it’s still a problem. I do love that video though.
The Canon handles and feels so much better in the hand (but I have large hands). As they say, the best camera is the one you enjoy using (or something like that).
When you switched back to the gh5 recording at 9.30 , i thought you where still filming with the canon 😉...colors , look and dimensions just the same .
I watched it in 1440 p my maximum resolution on a S9 + 😉...
Outdoors the Sony looked better ...not so blown out skies as canon who was over exposed imo ...
I believe his exposure was off with both the cameras when he was outside, too bight with the canon, not bright enough for the sony.
When you say he I would say the cameras. They were both set to auto with the same exposure compensation so should have been similar. But different cameras act differently.
sorry, didnt know u were on auto, but I think if you manual controlled them both they would have been fine with the canon having less dynamic range.
So. 6D Mark II for selfie and 7M3 for all other purposes.

I like the video but calling a draw on the lens selection is questionable. There are probably 10x as many ef-mount lenses out there and even comparing the same lenses from canon and sony usually canons are quite a bit cheaper, so calling it a draw because the 1 lens you really like only exists for e-mount doesn't really make sense
I don’t disagree and say as much in the video. But ef lenses are starting to show age with rf starting to ramp up in production and e mount has some of the most cutting edge lenses on the market. Hence the draw.
Your audio is always very quiet. It's crisp, but quiet.
When we get to a point that $2,000 is considered budget... something is wrong. Even in Luxemberg with the highest average salary - $50K that puts the A7 at $2000 at a major impact on their rent, food, transportation.
With that said... 2 years ago I said good bye to 25 years of Canon and went Sony... and have never looked back :)

At least the Canon has dual pixel af, even if no 4k. I like the A7iii over the Canon this time.

Dominic Vengeance if you want a full frame look get the 6d but if apex is fine for you, as it is most non professionals, get the 80d
Despite known for good 1080P, Canon AGAIN crippled their entry-level FF that even A7iii has better 1080P.
The A7III is still £500 more expensive where I live, let alone their lenses

Have you priced Zeiss lately? Awesome glass. Canon is so easy. Fully supported and their DSLR are not dead yet. So what if DSLRs go away, it in no way invalidates your choice either way. I love the Sony a7III and to me a hero camera that was never better. Sony is killing it. Built by engineers for us. Not really photographers with respect with ergonomics. No flippy screen, interface is still mental. Stupid body design with those access covers made to annoy, not assist. Canon made a great DSLR whose ergos rock the vote. Easy menus, flippy screen that is touch driven. Lens eco system by Canon, Tamron and Sigma forever. The EOS mount is a killer mount that makes 3rd party real money! Sony E mount has gotten better over the years yeah. I imagine a Sony A7III with Art Sigma glass, or the Canon with Canon glass or Sigma Art glass. The Sony is the all arounder that mirrorless going, and you cannot ignore its draw. Everytime someone lets me shoot with it, it is joy city! The Canon though says hey we made this camera for you the photographer who needs a camera to stay out of the way of your project. Give Sony Canon or Panasonic Ergos, and I am 100% Sony. One of your toughest comparos yet.
I take the Sony A7III any day, because og the poor sensor of Canon 6D Mark II ....
AT 1080p i will keep my less, but less expensive Canon Rebel SL2 that give a full 60fps at 1080P , what a bargain.

I've used the 6D MK 2 - I really like it - it's a very easy camera to use. I'm a hybrid event shooter and would have no problems using one. I love the Canon FF look and I'm a Nikon shooter. I've also used the A73 and really didn't like it. I've also used the SL2 it's not for me I'm not a crop sensor fan.
