Overloud Fluid IRs explained

- Fluid IRs are an advanced form of impulse responses that encapsulate more detailed sonic characteristics compared to traditional IRs. Unlike regular IRs that merely mimic a speaker's frequency response, Fluid IRs also reproduce the speaker's dynamic behavior and harmonics. This enhancement delivers a tone that is more robust, lifelike, and direct, with better management of the bass frequencies.
As of version 1.4.26, all cabinets in TH-U and all of the SuperCabinet libraries have been upgraded to include Fluid IRs, which are provided to users as a free update.
Additionally, users have the option to upload their own conventional IRs into TH-U, taking advantage of Overloud's proprietary Fluid IR technology. This technology utilizes an AI algorithm trained to transform your IRs by recreating their dynamic and harmonic responses.

'Is this like X company?'.....'is this the same as Y concept?'....who cares? I only care about the results, not about originality contests. Even if it were 'the same concept', there isn't one single way of doing it, and every company has their own way of implementing the same concepts, therefore it will never sound and feel exactly like another company's product, and no one knows exactly how each of them do it. Nowadays it seems that every 'youtuber' with a fake name and no credentials, is an instant audio expert who knows more than a team of true experts like Overloud.
Well done, Overloud, keep improving the already excellent products. I tried most of the amp sims on the market, and TH-U is certainly one of the very best ever. Thank you for your informative video. I myself tried the Fluid IRs and agree that they are better than the standard ones. I want killer tone, so everything helps.

they already started incorporating fluid captures of amps. there is only 1 so far that i know of but every capture going forward will be fluid captures with realistic tonestacks
@@bassgoul exactly, and they have done it with FX too, starting with the Clon Centaur. Looking forward to have the entire app be "fluid", truly next-generation.

I had to go into my Overloud account and download the latest THU premium to get the fluid IRs. Worthwhile, as there is a significant improvement in the tonal quality. Is it just me, or has the harshness been tamed, at last? Really pleased with the free upgrade with Premium! ✌️🤠
Every time we think we've achieved "realism" in sim land, there's always someone like, "nah. Let's nitpick this detail to death until we dream only in tones and harmonics, cabinet and speaker EQ curves and notches, dynamic response and so on." I thought TH2 was good years ago. Y'all are crazy. In a good way.
I'm inundated with ampsims that all claim to sound "real." There's plenty of good ones.
Anyone remember Mercuriall Cab 3 from forever ago? I think that was the first dynamic cab/IR concept. The idea was fascinating although perhaps it exaggerated the whole dynamics thing. Still fun AF to play with when we had either specialists stuff like TH2 or freebies only available in 32-bit. I don't miss those days, but keeping up with the breakthrough of the week does take away time from, you know, making music.

Will these fluid IR's work on any IR loader or modeler just like previous IR's can?
Is this comparable to the UAD Ox speaker simulation? Just a few hours ago I've been wondering why they havent released a plugin version of this technology. Suffice to say I am super excited about this update of yours, holy crap guys!!

Work with a hardware IR loader? I dont mind purchasing supercabinet and the IR bundles but if it wont sit on my pedalboard I'll have to wait until the trend catches on with cab sims.

Tried the fluid IRs last night. I'm unsure it's desirable. It def adds saturation(makes it sound cheaper imo) and loses low-end. But it does boost mid focus and makes the bass knobs usable where before they almost always had too much bass. Wondered who else has tried it and what they think. To clarify, I don't think it's bad it's just a very very noticeable change. I'd like to be able to toggle it on the cabinet rather than just globally.
So basically the same as the Bogren IRDX?

I love THU but i HATE the display!
At some point you realize that jolting people with a loud noise at the start of something doesn't wake them up so much as annoy them, and worst of all, it prompts them to turn down the volume on the rest of your presentation, which makes it sound weaker.
So don't.
