How nice that the chair came on your birthday! And yeah, just allowing yourself to mood read sounds like a great idea. Hope things are nice and slow in December!
It was such a nice surprise... even if it was from past myself 😁 Following the mood it seems it going to have to be the order of the month, but it is just soooo hard, when I have all these things I do want to get to or finish and goals I want to hit before the end of the year! So silly though, given it is just a hobby for fun right. Even though work is in the race to the finish before the real forced slow down, things absolutely hit massive slow down since the holiday last week. I came in today to about half the email I usually get overnight and none I needed to follow up on, it was lovely!
Looking forward to your cozy wrap up. Happy belated birthday 🎂 🥳. I'm glad you were able to get a good deal on your chair. I also didn't set a TBR and am just mood reading
🥳 Thanks for the birthday wishes! OMG the chair has been amazing. Skipping a TBR was the definite right choice, winding down the year without that weighing seems so much more positive! Hope your mood reading brings you to all the good things too!
Even though I enjoyed it, I can't help but love the nickname Snorbital too. Gives me a chuckle every time, and I've gotta take the chuckles wherever I can get em!
I've been trying to decide whether or not I want to read Orbital. I hadn't actually considered reading it on audio, so I might do that. Happy birthday!!!
Audio is definitely a good way to go if you're hesitant! It is also surprisingly calming in my opinion, I listened to it a bunch at the gym and just sort of sunk into it.
I am intrigued to try Orbital. I can’t guess whether or not I’ll get on with it - but I’ll keep your advice in mind, and be prepared to quit if I’m not liking it after a few pages! Oof but sorry to hear you’re a fellow Struggle Bus passenger.
I enjoyed Orbital too, much more than I expected to given that I really generally don't like philosophical stuff, which I often find overly pretentious and self-centred. This was was very much the opposite of self-centred. I did find it very hard to concentrate on for long period of time though, probably because the lack of plot to hang on.
i am gonna come back & watch this when ive read orbital bc i wanna go in without a lot of assumptions or anythin !! apparently i am now 7th in line for it on the library app.... i also out it on hold bc of the ursula le guin prize lol it's just been taking truly forever to get to me !
I'll look forward to seeing what you think, hope you enjoy it! The experience waiting in hold queue was similar for me, definitely one of the longest holds I've had to wait for.

Absolutely, Orbital is definitely one to sample if you can before you buy.
I feel like the Struggle Bus is overloaded what passengers of late! 🚍

You are spot on! I was so glad to find it wasn't super "heady" it felt very much more focused on the small stuff of life and human connection.
