Just finished the Green Bone Saga and it was fantastic! Two books into The Dandelion Dynasty and it is excellent as well! Hoping to finish that by the end of the year!
I loved the first part of Farseer but I cannot get through book 2... The invisible life in on my TBR pile and just got bumped up a bit more. Thank you both for this video!
I am super excited to get to the stormlight archives! Sanderson instantly became a favorite of mine over a year ago and his writing is so accessible yet the fantasy is so lush and detailed! So many great books on this list and many already on my TBR 🤍
3:33 - Pacing of "Project Hail Mary" is certainly _not_ "breakneck" - it is just as it should be. Ii is somewhat more ambitious that "The Martian" and, umm, attempts to be "deeper" than "Artemis", and, IMO, succeeds. This is the only of your recommendations I read - it's perhaps because I am more into SciFi than fantasy. Perhaps I will add some of them to my 10k trong TBR list. I will take your word for sequels to "Red Rising" being better than the progenitor.
“Rocky, one of the best characters I’ve ever come across in sci-fi. I don’t even want to spoil it.” *Shows picture of the character* What!!!!!! That’s a spoiler!!!!!!!
Lovely list. And I loved very single book on this list(among the one i have read). I am sword of kaigen, Babel and Addie laRue are among best reads of this year.
Not usually into dark academia but I did enjoy Babel, great magic system. I wanna get into Dandelion Dynasty but it might be next year, got a few on my TBR to get through. As soon as Of War and Ruin is done I'm getting into Riyria Revelations and probably take a couple more chunks out of Malazan
I would point out as a Stormlight fan myself that the series is meant to be 10 books in total and is still ongoing. Stormlight 5 is meant to come out november 2024 so we're halfway through the series. I'm very much looking forward to loving this series in the decades to come while it's being written but I know that books that large and it being an ongoing series that isn't finished yet can be a bit intimidating for some readers. Sanderson is one of my favorite authors of all time, but idk how he manages to write so much especially given the fantastic quality of all his series
Calling Stormlight archive vivid and lush... It's all rock, rocks and crabs, and more rocks... Vegetation is literally more rocks... Love the series to death, just those descriptors are hilarious to me.
One part of a story that will instantly get me to DNF is if the world building is trying to play itself off as a unique world, but is blatantly stealing from our own. In my mind, as the author, you should choose to have it set in our world or put in the work to make it something new. Sword of Kaigen was DNFed for this exact reason. Is this Japan? It feels and sounds just like Japan. Uncanny valley, and I couldn't get passed it. It came off super lazy.
The animal companions saved the farseer trilogy for me. I absolutely love dogs so finding a fantasy series where animal companions played a large role really helped me overlook all the things disliked in book 1. Book 2 far better.
Absolutely nothing happens in Sword of Kaiden…I don’t understand why it’s so well liked. How is is epic in scope…over half in and it’s kids doing nothing in a small village
Hard disagree here. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue was full of plotholes and unnecessary flashbacks. It really sucked. There was a good book in there with maybe half the page count
two of my fav booktubers combining their powers for good...love it!
Ahhhh I loved seeing how this turned out! Thank you so much for spending time here in Madrid! I had such a blast! Please come back! 🎉
I'm here for the puppy...and for the books.
📚🐶
I agree. Rocky (in Hail Mary) is one of the best and most memorable characters ever created: "You break. I fix."
"Because he's a robot" haha! Great picks. Completely agree with those I've read and have the rest on the TBR!
So awesome to see u guys together!! What I have read I agree and what I have not I am working on catching up.
I usually stay away from sad books but I LOVED Swords Of Kaigen. This is my all time favourite book. I am so glad I came across this book.
Just got the special addition I remember wanting a copy back in the day and then they just disappeared from the selves.
👕 I want that shirt as I often measure my TBR in terms of years - it’s at 26y long right now! 😂 - and I am now looking at it on Etsy!

Hi 👋 great video! It must’ve been so much fun? Happy reading to you!! 🎉
I've only read Babel, The Way of Kings, and Project Hail Mary and enjoyed all of them so this is a very promising list :) also, great collab!
I have Grace of Kings on hold at my library. I’m waaaaayyyyy down on the list. I might get it in November though. Really excited to start that one.
i bought The Grace of Kings really cheap at my local library. I have not read any of it yet. So ill give it a try soon.
I hope you will enjoy it!

A lot of favorites on this list - I will look into the ones I haven't read yet

Thank you guys for many good recommendations

Reading Sword of Kaigen and loving it
Wow, you love Jade City that much. First on the list. Better than the Godfather? That's the signal to get my copy pronto. Thank you.
Aw you guys are so cute, cool video, I’m going to check out a few of these!
Maybe that's an old copy of Way of King, recent Spanish copies of all 4 Stormlight books has the beautiful original covers made by Michael Whelan.
3:56 people are correct. I am people.
😂 how long did it take you to find this
@@libraryofaviking it was recommended to me 😂
So mant good books, great collab and a supercute dog
Love this 😊❤
What does your Tattoo say in your right hand? (Really curious)
You should read “Dawn of wonder”
Calling Stormlight archive vivid and lush... It's all rock, rocks and crabs, and more rocks... Vegetation is literally more rocks... Love the series to death, just those descriptors are hilarious to me.

Yayyy I’ve read all 😂🎉
Jade city is amazing

Project Hail Mary is brilliant
i own all but one of these, ive red 2 of these
Absolutely nothing happens in Sword of Kaiden…I don’t understand why it’s so well liked. How is is epic in scope…over half in and it’s kids doing nothing in a small village
But what are the book edges that deserve the hype??
😆
Hard disagree on Babel
People need to stop saying Jade City is better than Godfather…it’s not even close to as good. Stop it people.
Because he’s a robot 😂
So sad to see red rising still recommended
Uff, doing so well until we got to Babel. Great recommendations otherwise 👌
Hard disagree here. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue was full of plotholes and unnecessary flashbacks. It really sucked. There was a good book in there with maybe half the page count
Fitz is a simp, not gonna read on, disappointed but over hyped in my opinion
Agree with a lot but wasnt a fan of Babel and really dont like assassins apprentice. Brrr😫🫣
