That kindness inspired loyalty in the boy's heart and drove Sooga to earn a place at his savior's side as his second in command. He even does it AGAIN when another child sneaks into the Yiga hideout to eat Mighty Bananas, the boy's favorite food, because the Yiga were hoarding all the Bananas in Hyrule for themselves. Instead of being mad at the kid, Kohga was impressed and even humbled a bit. So he decided to loosen up the Yiga's vice grip on the Banana trade so that fellow Banana enthusiasts across Hyrule could also enjoy its legendary flavor. And when fleeing from the Blight Ganons, you have to have Kohga go back and rescue the Blademaster that is sacrificing himself to unlock Sooga as a playable character, and I bet many people agree that is the canon way to play the level. He is willing to put his life on the line to protect his people, even if that threat is the very god that they worship. On the other hand, given that Maz Koshia is a long mummified monk, it makes me wonder what it would be like trying to fight a fully trained Sheikah monk in his prime.
I think it could also be possible that the power of Demise has a much subtler effect on the world, slowly altering the genes of organic, naturally occurring creatures, leading them to evolve into more hostile species
2:27 I love how the waking and standing up animation takes priority over the electrocution animation. Like the Hinox stood up and remembered 'Oh right, I'm being electrocuted. I should get back to doing that.'
I think that monsters in the Zelda franchise are normal animals or races infected by Malice. This would be why in the original game and the games associated with the Link’s Awakening timeline Zora are enemies- the ones that live in fresh water are exposed to a very high concentration of malice as opposed to ocean Zora which live in a much larger body of water where the malice can’t concentrate; it gets really diffused and can’t infect Zora. This could also explain the odd friendly monster you meet, such as Batreaux from Skyward Sword. He’s in the sky- far away from Demise’s malice. Monsters in the sky are actually just wild animals which tend to be territorial vs being infected. Why are Lynels so damn intelligent? They’re infected, yeah, but they also have their own warrior culture. You stay out of their territory and they leave you be. You ride by on horseback with no weapons out? They also leave you be. They’re only interested if you’re challenging them to battle. Different colors come from different levels of infection. Red bokoblins and moblins are the least infected and thus the least dangerous. Gold enemies are the most dangerous with the highest level of malice infection. Monsters in Hyrule tend to slowly change color as you travel further out and complete more quests. Ganon is getting stronger the closer to attacking him you get. The infection gets stronger. In Age of Calamity, Ganon properly reincarnates and so is able to infect monsters more, leading to elemental enemies and malice enemies. The monsters that don’t change color have a much smaller connection to Ganon. Either they don’t have an allegiance to him or they have resistance to Malice. Interesting to note: Mulduga don’t change colors/strength level and neither do Talus. Conclusion: these minsters aren’t infected by Ganon in the same way. Talus are purely instinctive creations of magic. They grow from pebblets- possibly spawned by ore dropped from the deposits on their back. That’s why pebblets are such a great indication that you’re near a Talus. Mulduga? A wild animal from the Gerudo Desert. Excellent stealth hunters. Ganon wad originally a Gerudo- possibly knows how dangerous they are all on his own. No need to power them up. Besides, they’re useless anywhere except the desert and the fame has no dungeons. They aren’t actually revived by the blood moon, a new one just moves into the territory from further out into the desert after you kill one. Note: this is also why Age of Calamity doesn’t have elemental Mulduga. There’s no point. EDIT: Meanwhile, the Yiga were probably looking for the next holder of the Hero’s Spirit, but discovered the previous one survived instead.
Personally, I’ve always thought Calamity Ganon to be a phantom of Ganondorf’s. From TotK’s original trailer, you can see Ganondorf slowly producing malice. The way I see it, Ganondorf gradually builds up malice over 10,000 years, then releases it all at once in the form of the Calamity. It’s kinda like those bamboo deer scare things, except the water is unholy magic. Plus, there’s that theory that the three forms of Calamity Ganon were designed to resemble the three forms of Puppet Ganon from WW (snake, spider, boar). Also I don’t see Demise cursing Link and Zelda with his dying words as that ridiculous. He is essentially a god after all, so his power is nothing to scoff at. And if that’s not enough, I also think that the reason all it took was a few words is because Demise’s hate for Link and Zelda was just that strong in that moment. Hatred seems to be the fuel behind his and Ganondorf’s power, otherwise why would it be called malice?
Idk if you watched his video where he talks about hylia and demise being two sides of the same coin, but based on that logic, I find it likely that the simple act of demise's existence caused the malice to form throughout the world.
Also before you fight the Beast form of ganon Zelda says he has given up on reincarnationg himself. which implies th purpose of the cocoon and malice was to escpae the seal with a new body
@@Anonymous-ks1pn that's a mistranslation from the original Japanese version of the game, which actually states the opposite, that ganon will never give up on reincarnation
@@Anonymous-ks1pn you're welcome! The English version has more deviations than that, namely a certain quest in the lanayru region that is made infinitely worse with bad/malicious translation, so in general it's better to trust the Japanese version when it comes to basically anything (worth noting that versions like German or Spanish are much more faithful than English, so those work too)*
Quick correction, the pair of stone talus from Duelling Peaks are labelled "Junior" and "Senior" as that's the names given to the two halves of the Duelling Peaks mountain, with one Talus on each half.
Lynel: "These things are alergic to peace" Me who just beat a silver Lynel without a sheild (saving up for ganon's laser attacks): "Well better get an epi-pen because I'm about to crush their bones into peices"
QuestWithAaron revealed in a video that Lynels were depicted as guardian deities in the Japanese version of the game manual of the first Legend of Zelda game. So, they are likely not monsters, but minor deities that aligned with Ganondorf or were corrupted by Ganondorf. I like to believe that most of the "monsters/demons" that follow Ganondorf are actually their own races that chose or were forced to follow him and by following him, they are bound to him and his power.
Fun fact: if you read the white or silver lynel's(I don´t remember) entry in the compendium, it says that they're being mind-controlled by Ganon, so they were intelligent and pre-existing living beings
I assumed that Master Kohga from Age of Calamity is a different Kohga and the Kohga from BotW is a descendant. They have similar but not the same personalities and the similarity could result from the parenting in the leader family. As for the name, Hyrule does have a big tradition on reusing names, as we all know.
It could be like with Yoshimitsu from Tekken. From what I understand, Yoshimitsu is actually the name of the sword, so each person who wields it becomes Yoshimitsu. Perhaps Kohga is a name the leader of the Yiga Clan takes on, irrespective of each individual's given name. Though giving an individual the same name through generations is common for Zelda games.
@@NuiYabuko Leaders taking the names of predecessors happens in real life too. Usually though they also get a number appended to indicate where in the line they are. Think of popes, kings, queens, etc.
The creation of Ganon is tricky because Ocarina fully contradicts what A Link to the Past said, in which Ganondorf became Ganon due to the corruption of the Sacred Realm into the Dark World. Every person that gets inside the Dark World is transformed into a creature that represents their heart, and Ganondorf was transformed into a demon pig due to his greediness and hunger for power. Ocarina instead shows that Ganondorf could always transform into Ganon whenever he liked, and there's no mention about the Sacred Realm becoming corrupted
Something that I think might be true is that there was lots of dark stuff that happened in the hyrulian kingdom and that they knew about Gannon and his many forms alongside the curse to a certain extent. The key thing is if they had a justice system and if it requires trials and appeals ect. Then the next question is if Ganondorf was tried and convicted for something that he hadn't done yet then they kept him imprisoned for years before attempting to kill him. He would have had plenty of time to accumulate much more power and potentially even produce a ceremony that would prevent his death for a while at least.
My theory on why kohga is so much like maz koshia is kind of simple. The way the Yiga act currently is how the original sheikah lived and acted then when they split yiga decided to keep old traditions and magic while sheikah decided to be progressive with inventing guardians and such and also decided to be much more peaceful turning their backs on some of their magical practices. That’s why kohga has the same magic and tendencies as maz koshia. Not so much that they are related directly but just traditional ideologies.
For the stals, I'd say Ganon wouldn't use a purely undead army because the sun renders them inactive, if not outright kills them. Then you get to the fact that despite being "immortal" their bodies are remarkably fragile and a single good swing to the skull could put down even the biggest stalmoblin. Good for a surprise rush, but will literally crumble in any prolonged fight.
Your theory of ganon kind of forgets that Zelda already said herself that the one in BOTW is one that has given up on reincarnation. (also about the curse: it's a common trope that when someone dies and then uses their last words to curse someone, that curse becomes a reality.)
I like your thoughts on calamity Ganon being ganondorfs power boost from malice this time around, it definitely makes him feel a little less out of place
Did you know that you can actually blow up stone talus’ arms and stun them with your bomb runes? Had no idea till I tried to kill one with nothing but bombs in a challenge I did 😂
That was the first thing I tried doing when I encountered them. The problem for me was I couldn't figure out how to damage the ore crystal with my weapons (clubs and swords, no hammer)
Maybe one of the reasons that Link was able to defeat the Blights easier when the Champions fell was because Link wasn't meant to fight them. Maybe they were designed to have an advantage over the Champions that they were supposed to kill. Windblight had guardian lazers that could shoot Revali mid air, Fireblight had those explosions that could maybe destroy a Goron, Waterblight could create Ice which was used against the Zora in oot, and Thunderblight was able to outspeed Urbosa. Maybe the reason Thunderblight is the most difficult for Link is because Link and Urbosa's fighting styles are similar
My hc for dimise and Ganon!: my hc is that dimise said the thing to sky (Ss link) and that curses the intire time line to having to hit a form of his hatred, be it ganondorf, ganon, the calamity, viti, ex.. This is also the reason that the links always come by the time a disaster happens, they are cursed to do so because of what happened in skyward sword. (Linked universe anyone?)
Ever since Age of Calamity came out, I've personally held the belief that the look of the Blights in that game is actually their original look/their original form, and after 100 years the parts the malice used to make the limbs and weapons of the original Blights deteriorated, making them unusable forcing them to take of rudimentary forms, which is why Link can so easily defeat them when the Champions could not. We know Guardians can decay, so why can't other Sheikah tech?
Love these boss lore videos. Looking forward to the others. Majora & Wind Waker will be cool. Want to see Adventure of Link & Spirit Tracks boss lore. I would love videos on temple lore as well! Keep up the awesome work!
Actually Lynels are highly territorial due to them not attacking when you are far away but engage in combat when you enter there personal bubble, and I know they can see us because they pull out their weapons as a warning, telling you not to come any further
Each Blights are more challenging than the next. After playing Age of Calamity, I wonder how each have bested the Champions of Hyrule in the original timeline.
That idea about a Lynel camp is something I so wanna see in Tears of a Kingdom. Gimme that, for they must paaaaay! The blood of a thousand Lynels will run across the land, for they shall be hunted down to the last time and time again as they shall suffer!
seems the sheikah and yiga differences are kinda blurry further back into the past you go (used to be one, I mean... there was something about sheikah doing "the dirty work" for hyrule kingdom, even t0rture)
I did not expect to be so called out from the first two seconds of a sponsorship. What can I say big muscle monster killers and bug muscle monsters are hot af
13:36 Why is that so shocking? Calamity Ganon is just an OP Phantom Ganon. Speaking of Which, the one from Ocarina of Time was sealed away in the Space Between Dimensions which is a place where Time doesn't likely flow meaning that it could potentially return in Tears of the Kingdom.
I honestly think Mas Koshiya eating the mighty bandanas could be a different thing from the yiga clan, I mean I'd stop to eat a banana to if I had to wait 10,000 years for the hero to show up for his trial he must have been pretty hungry starving even after waiting all that time.
7:05 I hope we find Lynel camps in TotK, except instead of every Lynel there all mobbing the player at once, they each form a giant circle and each Lynel takes their turn fighting the player in a one-on-one in the center of the ring, starting from the weakest, all the way up to the strongest sequentially. Perhaps the player has to be careful when fighting, as though the Lynels will be passive until it's their turn to fight you, if you strike a Lynel in the circle, by accident or intentionally, they join in alongside their brother who's actively fighting you and makes it a 2on1.
I like the idea that the curse is part of the Garudo (male) genetics. Due to the fact that all Gannandorfs seem to be Garudo as well as the theory that the Garudo where founded by Gruse from Skyward Sword.
I was so mad during the Maz Koshia boss battle because I put on the stupid fish electric armor to prevent myself from getting electric damage but forgot to take it off before the cutscene. So the whole cinematic scene with Kass was ruined by the fish armor. Like it even zoomed in on the eyes and it was just a fish
I think it’s worth noting Lynels will not immediately attack you unless you draw your weapons, besides that you have 30 seconds-ish to not approach them and get out of their sight/territory before they begin to attack
A little disappointed you didn't talk about the Divine Beast fights, since they do actively attack you while you try to disable them in order to enter them. I personally counted them as sorta overworld bosses, sorta main bosses.
For Lynels I could be wrong but doesn’t the lore state somewhere that Lynels prefer to be solo? I’m not too sure but I feel like I remember hearing that somewhere. Also another thing with Lynels is recently I was playing Botw and realized how I could walk around close to a Lynel’s territory and have it clearly spot me, but not attack as long as I don’t pull out my weapons. It just stared me down till I left then let me be. You would think if the Lynel was a creature created from Ganon and Malice that it would immediately try to obliterate anyone it sees. Sure it poofs with Malice when you defeat one and it comes back after a Blood Moon (technically all other consumables and supplies do as well but that’s more of a purely gameplay mechanic) but what if Lynels are just creatures who are especially trained in the art of battle and war hence all their super strong weaponry they always carry. Maybe they have that Malice in them and they will attack any creature that gets too close but maybe their struggling with that internal battle as sometimes they will let you go, and sometimes their hatred overpowers them and they kill and destroy. Now technically one could say every single creature and person and thing has at least some little bit of Malice and Hatred inside them, but that’s a topic for another day.
They’ll attack you if you stay around long enough, even if you’re far away and don’t have any weapons drawn. I found that out the hard way at the beginning of my playthrough lmao
I like to think the stone talus creatures came from space and are actually separate from ganon’s malice. Makes the world seem even bigger 😁 Great video bandit! Have a good day!
I think it more likely that calamity Ganon and his extensions are more like avatars of Ganondorfs design that had to be made of mailce because he's been sealed away so long. I'd frankly be wholly astonished if the boss fight with that withered husk doesn't have a second phase where you fight the real Ganon as he's reinfused with all of the malice he can summon back to him.
15:00 putting the time stamp in the middle since I forgot when it started. What if demise was behind ganondorf's transformations the whole time and this calamity ganon is just him finally deciding he was done with ganondorf using him and instead just fully merged with him to create the ganon we fight in botw?
The blights couldn't have corrupted the champions bodies because in age of calamity, the champions fight the blights so they existed pre champion death
Calamity Ganon is actually an overpowered version of Phantom Ganon. It's why it disappears into nothing when defeated , and how it can come back with time. Phantom Ganon gains power from how much people believe in Ganon's power. With respect or fear , it embody's his reputation. Now with this reality being the end result of temporal fusion , beings were fused as well. And given that races seem to be compilations of all versions of themselves. It's easy to see how Ganon's concentrated reputation across time could create THAT.
My personal theory about Calamity Ganon was that he was indeed an external extension of the Ganondorf sealed away beneath Hyrule Castle. However, it may have been less an effect of Demise's curse, and more a counteraction by the sealed Ganondorf. Rather than killing Ganon or sealing him away with the sages or Triforce, Hyrule imprisoned his body, trying to prevent him from escaping, but also keeping him alive to prevent resurrection. So, Ganondorf used his malice, seemingly the only thing that can slip past the seal, and sent that out as his proxy.
Suddenly i hope that we see a lynel town, and they are friendly, it turns out the ones we see are like, rouges that gave up on being part of a civilization.
Who knows maybe Demise did do a ritual in order to reincarnate himself over and over before the skyward sword hero arrived at the final battle and even used his malice spread across the world to influence more
I think that the Sheikah Monks are actually reformed Yiga, who sacrificed themselves as a form of penance for teaming up with a prior incarnation of Ganon. Also, that Monk Maz Koshia was active within the last 100 years and set up the Champion Trials during that period to reflect the abilities of the lost recent set of champions, mostly because Revali's diary shows that he had the Rito training ground built for his own training, so it would make no sense for|the to have been hidden Sheikah symbols in the exact places that he had his targets placed. Also, because it was kind of a point that no one was able to open any of the Shrines until Link activated the Sheikah Towers, and by all appearances the Champions were chosen by the Royal Family rather than having attained that title by passing any specific trials. Even Link being selected to be a Champion didn't seem to be set in stone, despite him having been selected by the effing Sword of Evil's Bane.

@@Anonymous-ks1pn you're welcome! The English version has more deviations than that, namely a certain quest in the lanayru region that is made infinitely worse with bad/malicious translation, so in general it's better to trust the Japanese version when it comes to basically anything

Quick correction, the pair of stone talus from Duelling Peaks are labelled "Junior" and "Senior" as that's the names given to the two halves of the Duelling Peaks mountain, with one Talus on each half.
I always thought the molduga were corrupted sand seals, which makes sense
sand seals could be tamed monsters related to moldugas.

Lynel: "These things are alergic to peace"
Me who just beat a silver Lynel without a sheild (saving up for ganon's laser attacks): "Well better get an epi-pen because I'm about to crush their bones into peices"
Fun fact: Like the gorons, Hestu, and Terrako, Maz Koshia can actually participate in the Miss Vai Battle pageant and in turn can enter Gerudo Town.
look at my chonnel its bugy day gaming
Maz Koshia is a female confirmed

Impa (who we also see in aoc) lived to see link again in botw, so its more then likely its the same kogha, 100 years is alot of time to change.
"Where did Calamity Ganon come from"
Me who played ToTK:
I never thought about the moldugas being corrupted sand seals. That's pretty cool. The Koshia/Kogah thing too.
CC'c 'c
My theory on why kohga is so much like maz koshia is kind of simple. The way the Yiga act currently is how the original sheikah lived and acted then when they split yiga decided to keep old traditions and magic while sheikah decided to be progressive with inventing guardians and such and also decided to be much more peaceful turning their backs on some of their magical practices. That’s why kohga has the same magic and tendencies as maz koshia. Not so much that they are related directly but just traditional ideologies.
exactly my thoughts! good job ^^
I think Calamity Ganon is a creation of Ganondorf's malice spewing from his body. And Calamity Ganon is just the most powerful blight.
first after bandit! love your content and are one of my favorite theorists. Keep up the good work!
hornet pop
For the stals, I'd say Ganon wouldn't use a purely undead army because the sun renders them inactive, if not outright kills them. Then you get to the fact that despite being "immortal" their bodies are remarkably fragile and a single good swing to the skull could put down even the biggest stalmoblin. Good for a surprise rush, but will literally crumble in any prolonged fight.
1:11 you lost me at pineapple, heathen.
I just assumed that the Kohga in Age Of Calamity was the Kohga in Breath Of The Wild's ancestor. You know, his father's mother's father.

I love how your videos have a couple of sentences looping back to a previous video, but does not give any spoilers to them.

These lore of the bosses videos is what got me interested in the channel. They're fun to watch!
Wow this is interesting actually
My hc for dimise and Ganon!: my hc is that dimise said the thing to sky (Ss link) and that curses the intire time line to having to hit a form of his hatred, be it ganondorf, ganon, the calamity, viti, ex..
This is also the reason that the links always come by the time a disaster happens, they are cursed to do so because of what happened in skyward sword.
(Linked universe anyone?)
Cool Video Bro!
The only hiccup I see to the blight ganons possessing the champions is that they are fought in Age of Calamity while the champions still live.
I think Talus is mad cuz Link been wackin ore deposits all day
Love these boss lore videos.

After playing Age of Calamity, I wonder how each have bested the Champions of Hyrule in the original timeline.
What if Ganon is the culmination of Demise's hatred? Ganondorf "loses control", and then Demise uses him to manifest Ganon?
the lynel may not have a boss health bar, but the strength they have definitely makes them boss worthy in fans eyes
That idea about a Lynel camp is something I so wanna see in Tears of a Kingdom. Gimme that, for they must paaaaay! The blood of a thousand Lynels will run across the land, for they shall be hunted down to the last time and time again as they shall suffer!

Hands down, I love the Talus boss music. It's so goofy and fun as they try to turn the player to a fine paste.

I did not expect to be so called out from the first two seconds of a sponsorship. What can I say big muscle monster killers and bug muscle monsters are hot af
Your idea of malice being infused with ganondorf to create calamity ganon makes a lot of sense considering age of calamity's story.
I thought the Champions in BotW were killed by the blights? That would make it kinda impossible for them to be corruptions of the Champions' bodies.
"Where's the pineapple?"
And just like that, you lost me.

I hope we find Lynel camps in TotK, except instead of every Lynel there all mobbing the player at once, they each form a giant circle and each Lynel takes their turn fighting the player in a one-on-one in the center of the ring, starting from the weakest, all the way up to the strongest sequentially. Perhaps the player has to be careful when fighting, as though the Lynels will be passive until it's their turn to fight you, if you strike a Lynel in the circle, by accident or intentionally, they join in alongside their brother who's actively fighting you and makes it a 2on1.
Do this with more series!! You got a golden idea man ✊🏽 amazing video!!
I like the idea that the curse is part of the Garudo (male) genetics. Due to the fact that all Gannandorfs seem to be Garudo as well as the theory that the Garudo where founded by Gruse from Skyward Sword.
Master kohga has a iq of 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000-
I was so mad during the Maz Koshia boss battle because I put on the stupid fish electric armor to prevent myself from getting electric damage but forgot to take it off before the cutscene.
You forgot the final boss, flower blight Ganon.
I like to think the stone talus creatures came from space and are actually separate from ganon’s malice. Makes the world seem even bigger 😁
Great video bandit! Have a good day!
oh hell yes. this series is awesome
Another great bandit video!
Bandit... Dying curses are a common thing in ancient stories. A villain on the verge of death often spouts a curse on those who defeated them.
I got this one..Ganon, Ganon, Ganon, Ganon, Super Ganon, Pig Ganon....and Decrepit Monk Skeleton
The "decrepit monk skeleton" is actually a mummy
Great video as always

Me: Wrong. I'm the perfect example
The blights couldn't have corrupted the champions bodies because in age of calamity, the champions fight the blights so they existed pre champion death

Don’t forget that lynels donor attack on sight. Only if weapons are drawn.
I have a feeling the OOT Ganondorf is going to come back in ToTK along with him....... The only hero who can restore the timeline.
Yooo the devine beasts' Lazer thing was rainbow, I haven't seen that before
I forgot how modded my BotW is 😂😅
Suddenly i hope that we see a lynel town, and they are friendly, it turns out the ones we see are like, rouges that gave up on being part of a civilization.
Maz Koshia Was my absolute favorite fight
My theory for lynels (which are totally bosses btw) are that they are just horses and their riders corrupted by malice and fused.
Who knows maybe Demise did do a ritual in order to reincarnate himself over and over before the skyward sword hero arrived at the final battle and even used his malice spread across the world to influence more
Yeah, finding both a stone talos and dozens of peblitts in different craters was pretty notable
