@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing gday- great video! May I ask for your recommendation about the height of low tide when fishing at hays inlet Clontarf? Cheers and happy new year!
Awesome Beach Fishing video Land And Bay Fishing !! Keep up the amazing work Land And Bay Fishing !! Thanks for the videos Land And Bay Fishing !! Cheers William !!
You should get FishBrain (not a sponser ) it a pretty good app. Nice shovel nose shark. I usually ride to my fishing spots so I don't have a big rod. I'll have to go with dad with big rods and catch one for myself.
I gotta say I've had the Okuma 8k surf reel for 3 maybe 4 yrs and honestly the best reel in that range and weight class plus the bonus is it's priced rather well
Very nice! When I was an international student back in 1996, I didn't have the means or local knowledge to manage to venture beyond Brisbane river at West End. Hope to be back in the future to do some real fishing in Brisbane ! Subscribed!
North over the Hornibrook bridge towards Clontarf. As you exit the bridge take the very first left. Park at the end and the banks are exposed for the bottom 5 hours of the tide.
No worries. It’s gotta be winter though. High tide bout 9pm. Use to get em at 2kg Live it n Townsville now it’s just emperor trout Spaniards n Barra Fish on 🎣
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing if you are looking for someone to take you out for a fish to a good place of mine in the bay, I'm your man and would feel privileged to do so, I'll supply the bait (Straight off the trawler)
Haha, I use to believe the only thing you caught down there were stingrays and fights with the local dbr (don't exist no more). But when you spend the time mapping and learning the bay you can and will find some good places for fishing and crabbing, believe it or not the biggest fish (flathead, bream whiting), crabs and squid I have ever caught has been in the bay. Even know a few good places to fish on the beach at high tide that produces the odd triple tail. I've always found mullet and squid to be the best bait you can use in the bay, but you can never ever go past trawler fresh bait, fish go nuts for 1-6 hour old bay prawns
Loving your videos thanks for making and sharing them, the young fella will remember that fish forever :) I’ve just moved to Redland Bay and taken up fishing again I’m land based no boat any spots around here you could recommend I’ve been hitting the jetty and breakwater rocks next to the passenger ferries caught a few small shovels and released them but not much else, I’m keen as to learn thanks mate.
Big Willie FPV plenty of spots. Suggest you target bream to begin with. Just a hook no weight at all. Anywhere near structure. Chicken Brest for bait. When it cools off a little then chase squid.
@@nathansoutbackfishing good Nathan. Just had a quick look at your channel. Starting out is always hard and often slow. Your channel is looking great. Keep it going. It’s a very rewarding hobby.
LAND & BAY Fishing memories that will last a lifetime. Oh and thanks for the coordinates to the four beacons the other day to went up on Monday no luck went over o mud island but didn't land one full fish everything was getting attacked by sharks thanks again👍
Im 30 years old and have been fishing redcliffe since I was a kid. This channel can produce good fish. Good video and I realize your trying to get your boy a big catch, but the first mistake you made was using bait(no matter how fresh it is)you will only catch shovel noses, sting rays, catfish, bream and baby bull sharks(all the shit I try and avoid) lol. Years and years of redcliffe fishing have taught me plastics are the go or even better live bait. Live poddy mullet go off at that spot. The best spot for them is the drain that runs alongside pcyc at kippa ring. A few throws on the rising tide and you'll have dozens. Put them In a bucket with an airrator and go back to Hayes inlet, we've caught hundreds of flathead there, my biggest there and pb was 98cm, thought it was a shovel nose lol, then you have the mulloway that come through in schools. They're a bit picky but again live mullet are just too irresistible for them. There's also good size mangrove jack further up that creek🤫 but it's a green zone now, other species I've caught there include queen fish cod and Taylor. We also pump yabbies at that spot but can be a bit tiring. Most people walk out there at dead low tide and the tide starts coming back in straight away.you have too walk out there in waste deep water and fish the last of the runout tide. Watch the stingrays lol. It was good when they had the channel markers there so you knew how far to go out, anyway mate sorry for rambling on.,its just good to see a local fishing video. Have a good one and happy fishing. Ps. Another good tip for that spot is to have a big rod ready and if you catch a bream (big or small) put it on your big rod live. The huge flatty love them.
Aussie Pride Ricky that’s great advice thanks. I’m a big fan of live bait and plastics as well. I’ve also used the same drain beside the PCYC for herring. You certainly sound like you have the peninsula sorted. Thanks again.
Some of my best childhood memories are learning to fish with my father.
Long term memories. A wonderful thing.

No offence but the only thing you'll catch in dbay is shovel noses and the flu lol. Nah just joking those mudflats can produce some good flatty

Fair dinkum bloke.
Poor ole shovel nose would have choked up for sure.

Awesome!!!
Trent Burrows thanks Trent
That’s a big one
Made a memory.
usually all you catch is a shopping trolley... or a junkie syringe fish in north Brisbane waters
Never caught a shopping trolley.
Where is the nearest access road to hays inlet clontarf?
boat ?
kit lau pelican park boat ramp. Hornibrook esp Clontarf
what fish was that by the way...
kit lau shovel nose ray.

Great thanks I just got a light weight rod n reel for bream. Night time for squid? Do I use the old squid jig? Thanks mate appreciate the reply
Big Willie FPV I like the size 3 squid jigs. I use the Egilicious range.
can u catch whiting on poppers there at low tide ?
There are lots of whiting there but I wouldn't bother with poppers. Live yabbies or beach worms on long shank hooks are your best chance for whiting
‘
Nice catch was that the only thing you guys caught out there on that day or did you only catch little fish?
Nicolas Sulejic that was it
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing Still I would be happy with that to :)
Nicolas Sulejic me too
What is bait string?
Andrew Wilmot it’s elastic cotton. Goggle it. And it works very well
