It’s great that despite the success of the channel you still remember what it’s like starting out and help others with the benefit of your experience. So generous. I applaud you, sir 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Its good to have these beginner videos, I love the refresher to remind me of things I've forgotten to incorporate :)
I've been filming making for just about 3 years, knowing everything you talked about but still found it a great informative video .. thanks and keep them coming
the basics are the most important. I've been filming for 5 months. Your lessons teach a lot. Thanks.
Informativt och roligt att se på! Keep it up Peter! 👊🏼😃💯
Thank you for making this video, it has come full circle now, you made something that you made when I discovered your channel and now technology is even better, but the principles are the same. Great video and great work. I can see all the hard work you have put in in this video. Thank you
Such a great example of “SHOW, don’t tell” video 👏🏼 great stuff as ever Peter 👊🏼
I've been shooing with my smartphone for forever.. just moved to using the Sony a5000 this year and just getting into manually tweaking all the different settings.. this has been a great video for me and super fun too.. still vlog on my smartphone so it's helped me both ways.. thanks so much for this video Peter ☺️👊
Great info for us newbies. Thanks Peter!
Modern Filmmaker is a very big and broad word and through my experinece I certainly found out that sometimes you have to be a Writer/Driector , DP/Camera operator, Sound Eng, Editor/Colorist, all in one.
Great tips Peter :) Thank You !
This is how I started and stuck with my trusty smartphone ever since. You can definitely make films, documentaries ect with phone cameras. Great video!
Thanks so much for this video Peter!!
Great video! I discarded the iphone as an aspiring filmmaker, but this opened my mind again!
Mate your so right it’s overwhelming where to start but just start find great creators like you and absorb the tips and tricks on offer excellent vid mate goodonya cheers

Excellent Video, Excellent Information, and Excellent Advice
Thank You Peter.
Dude your such an inspiration when it comes to content creation. Great video.
Loved this video. Thank you!
Awesome one! The all-in-one video for beginners. It should appear as recommended every single time someone is asking about basic things in search ;)
Thanks these are very helpful!
Haha I lajk the ending va xD Nice video Peter!
Thank you soo much💙
Peter, as usual very good video, I could say that your channel is probably the one of my favorite channels. I really like how you present topics, of course I'm interested in video editing and still not decided, one day I'm fully with fcpx and another with davinci resolve :) The main problem with "us" beginners is (in my case)is that I'm not satisfied with how I edited video materials, whenever I see your editing or Matti's, or Peter Mckinnon's....etc....I immediately delete my editing :D
I have the same problem, but I always try to remember myself that probably they thought the same thing when they were starting in this field and the only way for me to get better is editing and editing (and studying ofc) and then one day I will feel good about my editing. Everyone has a beginning.
I dont know, this helps me, maybe can help u too.
I always enjoy your videos Peter. 👍👍👍
i wish i found you before going and buying a filmmaking course cuz ur results actually speak for themselves
Great points as always!! Trying to make sure I watch everything! LOL
Good to see you pete . . .
on behalf of all amateur videographers, thank you very much 👏
More videos like this for us apprentices 😉
So many UA-camrs post these sorts of videos overloaded with commentary of their boring day, followed by showing off their advanced skills. This was the opposite; concise, explanation, demonstration. Another interesting insight would be how to plan videos, such as structure, story progression, day/weather, contingencies. What parts of your videos have you found people typically skip in the viewer analytics, and what parts are often rewatched?
Thankyou pete
Nice video love it cooool I’m learning more things from you
👍🏾👍🏾Awesome!! Many Thanks, my Brother.
I lost my motivation nowadays shooting and mostly editing. Feels like Im stuck or feel burnt out. I will going back to these basics again and hopefully will be able get some good ones. Thanks for your advice
Chips for the win! Thanks for the master class! 🤘
You feel energetic because you were totally talking about exactly what you like💯
thanks you very much for explaning everything even if its already know its better to explain people like this in street and like showing the screen insted of explain it on studio and people will strugle and such
Great information there Peter .. well done 👍 I shoot all my videos for my channel on the iPhone 13 Pro Max as I’m only starting out. Learn a lot there. Hope all is well
You are the best ❣️
This was not about filmmaking. It was about cinematography. It didn't cover storytelling, which is at the heart of good filmmaking.
A good story needs to be captured correctly in order for it to make sense.
@@PeterLindgren1 Yes, but you incorrectly titled this filmmaking -- that's poor filmmaking right there. The content was good, but poorly titled to the point of being misleading.
@@bertt1014 Title says filmmaking since it's for beginner filmmakers.
Great tips
PLEASE PLEASE more of those!! As a complete beginner, I appreciate it so so much!!!❤❤❤
Thanks I needed this for my movie called Fire force
Wait u rlly making a movie
I often still today grab my iPhone and mix it into a video. I don’t always have my eosr with me so when I’m feeling creative and don’t have it my cell phone will do just fine
Thanks for this interesting video :-) Your are a real cool dude, and your videos are great.
Peter - I have been having some challenges grading or making the iPhone hdr footage look fine even after choosing the right colourspace etc . Having said that wish you could make a video on that along with how to mix non iPhone or a DSLR footage in between iPhone hdr footage . Thanks for this very simple yet effective process video above
I don't shoot in HDR with my phone!
Awesome video bro! Watching in headphones with the talking head every time you touch the desk I thought someone was tapping on my door! Is the mic attached to the desk or just really strong? Love it brother! All my videos are shot on my iPhone on my channel at the moment
Mic is just very strong
@@PeterLindgren1 loved the video bro! Just watching in headphones had to keep pausing and re listening! Awesome work
Hello again ! ;D
That's the right video where I can ask you my question :D
You got me inspired few weeks ago, since then I'm looking to buy my first camera.
You know the B-roll that you did back in the days, at the bar or at the poker table.
Do you think that with the Sony ZV-E10 + the right lens I would be able to shoot something like this ? Or I need to go for a better camera ?
Peter please make detailed video on s log 3. is there any difference on 8 bit or 10 bit on slog 3???
New catch frase @11.30 - "Down we go, with the ISO". :D Even though I consider myself slightly above intermediatet, still enjoyed this!
Great video
Peter how you fix you photocamera on shoulder? is it handy?
great videoi
Hello Peter, where do I get your merchandise?
Hello Peter !
Hello peter✨♥️
I love the thumbnail, Peter hahahahahaha XD
🔥
Cool.
I was sitting here basically agreeing to everything you explained 😂
Mostly at the beginning of this video.
How do you do that thing which you write words on the screen .... please answer
Super👍
Nice
Vart kan man köpa en Dji mini 3 PRO Jag bara undrar för jag ska köpa den men jag vet inte vart😕
Du e härlig du Peter ;)
🤟❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love from Pakistan ♥♥♥
I just edited a very similar "smartphone filmmaking tips" video to be out soon. People will say I copied 😂
Hej Peter!
@@PeterLindgren1 hej igen!
Tusen tack för snabbt svar. Då är det definitivt lättare. Så tacksam 🙏
Då bokar jag den inom några dagar 😍
First!🎉
Believe it or not but I have grown my outdoor yt channel only using my iPhone 11 and now 13 for the most part!
Peter, I like your video content very much. I hope it can be automatically translated with Chinese subtitles. It will be more perfect. There will be more content related to the teaching of mobile phone photography. Thank you for coming from Miyun District, Beijing, China. Greetings and I hope you will develop in the video field. I wish you a bright future. God gives you better development and light 8:47
🔴Most funny 😂 part of this video is Shaking your hand ❤love from India
Basic filmaking is importan
thx from israel
😘
Kommer spara den här videon för att jag ständigt behöver repetition på iso/exposure/aperture!
Det är ett jäkla nötande i början!
Yes ok I would like to know more about you. But I am shy
im a beginner, thanks
I highly recommend the early videos of Patrick Levar on UA-cam, which show how easily one can create a filmic look with a smartphone, and also the UA-camr named Zeek, who mostly shoots with a Canon EOS M, which is a ten year old camera that is now very cheap to buy, but which can shoot high-quality RAW video when using a firmware hack called Magic Lantern. 👍🏾
@@SourceAwareness thank you for your recommendation. I will check that.
I want you to help learn video editing
Ah... That swedish energy ;)
svegelska
Love this. Too bad the footage still has that overly sharp phone look :( but hey you showed how to film horizontally and that is fantastic!
Not necessarily. You can shoot RAW video now on some Android phones, using the Motion Cam app (though the file sizes are HUGE), and you can also use great apps like Mcpro24fps or Filmic Pro, as well as dial down some of the digital sharpness in post production when editing. Also, for Android users, the Super 16 app is pretty advanced, and one can shoot in 720p and dial down the sharpness and use settings to replicate a look that is very similar to 8mm or 16mm film. 👍🏾
@@SourceAwareness seems heavy for a video that focuses on beginners?
@@SourceAwareness and will these workaround still provide what a g lens can? DOF, DR, bokeh, etc?
good*
Not even close!
