Most people don’t know this but they all sync together like power rangers to create one ultimate sound!
Megazound
🤯🤯🤯
adapted from the japanese live-action series: sonic sentai strymoranger? i would watch it
@@NobddyYou win! 😂
Just in case, if you are looking for improvement ideas for the Iridium, please add a bass amp (or even 3, by switching the pedal into "bass mode"). It would help people playing both instruments (like me) and open a new market for this pedal.
And if you make it be available on existing device with a firmware upgrade, that's perfect.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Doesn't the Iridium work pretty good with bass?
I really hope it does
All you need to do is add some good bass IRs to the thing
I’m just getting started on my guitar journey, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that one of the things I’m most excited about is incorporating pedals into the process!
Still have my original Flint and it's one of my favorites of all time. Thanks Strymon!
Thank YOU!!
Total game changer for this line of pedals! Thanks!
Thanks so much for MIDI and USB and JFET INPUTS!!!! These are all great modern features thanks v much.
Love the playing Sean. Great job showing off the cool sounds from each pedal.
Can't wait for those in-depth demos with Pete Celi, his long videos are my favorite part about Strymon's product launches!
WOW just purchased the Cloudburst, El Capistan and BlueSky. Beautiful sound and very simple. Thank you Strymon.
Great presentation & sounds, thank you. Very practical improvements.
Also love your lamp on the left from that classic movie, A Christmas Story.
Ralphy’s dad opening the crate moments earlier before the lamp arrives, “Fra… giiile… hmm, must be Italian!”
😅
Guys this is a fantastic presentation. Nice pedals too!
Great presentation, right to the point, not too much talkning nor too little. Well done🎸🎸🎸
Missed opportunity with Flint. One thing I wanted with the original Flint that still isn’t here is the ability to use the two effects separately via the stereo I/O. So reverb on the left input and output, trem on the right input and output.
Nice improvements! 👏 I'm not in a position to upgrade my El Cap, Lex, Deco, or Dig pedals since they all work and sound great 👌 but . . . . I "might" be able to talk myself into the new blueSky since I've never had one? 😁
Close to a year ago i finally bought my first Strymon pedal, the Timeline. I love it! Would be cool to see what u guys would do on a V2 of the Timeline, Big Sky, and Mobius if that would ever be a possibility. Great job and these new V2's.
Thank you :)
It’d be great to be able to use multiple presets at once in series or parallel. Such as ; mobius using the tremolo AND the phaser simultaneously, either run through each other or one on left one on right. Do this to the Big Three and I’d happily rebuy them all.
Great demo, looking forward to spending my money on the "big" units! Also, great playing, inspirational :)
Thanks for the updates! Also, I see the Christmas Story leg lamp!
External stereo/mono switch is my favorite upgrade here. That's a right PITA with the v1's. USB-c with a PC client is my second. Blend on the Lex is a gamechanger for that pedal for mono setups. Does Lex still sum to mono before the effect? Thats the only thing I would change as I want my Volante ping pongs to stay put if I run Lex at the end, unsure if its even possible though. Nice work guys.
Wonder why they didn’t just answer your question?
So, how much less will the old ones cost?
Sean here: Sorry I missed this - it does still sum to mono before the effect. The algorithms for the rotational speaker and the tube amplifier are highly complex, and the DSP is pretty much maxed out doing what it is already doing - which is one of the reasons why it sounds so great! - so you'd have to double those processes in order to make it true stereo wet in and out, which would require an additional processor, hardware support and engineering time...and cost. And even then it might not sound like a real Leslie (which it absolutely does right now), due to phase cancellation and all sorts of other anomalies that might crop up. So for now you can fiddle around a bit with the order of pedals to make sure that you're able to keep your stereo stereo - I place mine right after Iridium :-) Hope that helps!
@@strymon Thanks for the detailed response!
The MiDi capability is in my opinion the game changer. Unfortunately I just bought Collider to my board and removed the Blue Sky since it wasn’t midi capable 😭😭😔😔😔. Great job Strymon for this new line of pedals!!! 👍👍👏👏👏👏
Thank you!! :)
@@strymon btw I love what you guys/gals are doing @strymon!! I still have Riverside and Compadre on main board and on practice board I have Sunset and Iridium!!! Keep up the good work!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
How do you like the collider so far?
@@El...Presidente to be honest, I bought it a few months ago but returned it, never bother to mess with it but I bought it again to give it another try, so I can’t really speak for it just yet! maybe in another 3 days I can have my new set up ready, then I would be happy to give you my feedback on it!!!
I love the delay on my collider. Use it for my synths while I tempo sync it with midi
Sean Halley probando las mejoras de los pedales Strymon, definitivamente es un placer escuchar esta combinación perfecta !
Wow, didn't know Sean H was with Strymon. El Capistan is my fave pedal. Love Love. Gotta get the new one. Sean is the best ever ever ever.
I want all of these and to be as good a player as you!!! Great demos.
Major bonus points for the Miles Davis poster
Love my El Cap. One feature I always have wished it had was having stereo outputs that offered the optional ability to hard route a true 2 amp ping-ping stereo outs. One external switch.
Great to see the stereo-in external switch.
The unit its based on couldn't do that, I think they were going for a Space Echo replica
It could be done running in mono with two amps but no exactly ping pong, I think ill try and see if i can minic ping pong running a mono delay on one side
😫 I’ve got almost all of them and now you do this to me Strymon 😫🤣😆.. But yes these features are a Real game changer , looking and moving forward as always 😎👍🏻🌞⭐️❤️🙌
The low octave on the sky is like the walrus slo..the reason i bought the slo..lol...glad you agree...great stuff..I'm powered by Strymon.
ive been struggling with what rotating speaker pedal to buy because the lex V1 didn't have a dry blend knob which is something i really needed, otherwise i would have gone with the lex
lucky i havn't bought any other rotary pedal because im definitely getting the V2, it is the exact Leslie pedal that ive always wanted and it sounds great
Riiiiight at the moment I bought a flint … anyway I ll buy an el Capistan love you guys for years 🙏🙏🙏
The tone on that last one...wow!
I was looking for a Flint so maybe I'll wait until the new versions are in store. That Lex sounds crazy good though.
Awesome! Will there be a v2 for the Brigadier?😊
MIDI!!!! Multiple Favorite Presets!!!! (Those two alone for the El Capistan will be FANFREAKIN'TASTIC!!!!!!!) Adjustable Pre-Delay on Flint's Reverbs- YES!!!! I already wanted a DECO, MIDI and multiple preset capability are very welcome upgrades!!!!
So glad you enjoyed it! :)
Sean Halley back in the saddle. NICE.
I’d love an updated Volante. True stereo!!! reverse echo option with kill dry. Maybe even add bucket brigade to the selector switch.
Now I can gat a Lex!! Thanks guys!!
Damn, just picked up the Flint two months ago! Would have loved being able to tweak the pre-delay.
Used ones go for basically new, sell it and get the new one if you want!
Nice improvements!
Hey it’s the line 6 and eleven rack demo guy!
Is the resolution and clarity of artifacts in long decay high mix ambient tails improved in both the Blue Sky and the Flint with the new processor and AD DA converters? If so how? Thanks
The midi stuff puts the Deco on my radar. Honestly, the only reason I held off on it. I have a Nightsky and a Volante. Love the Volante and was learning to like the Nightsky when it died on a hot stage. I'll be sending it back this week. I'll admit it was a sun drenched hot stage for our first set. Volante did fine, Nightsky died. I had no idea we were playing in the sun,, I would not have done it- it sucked. Even the tablets that controlled the digital board were auto shut off due to the heat and had to be swapped at intervals. Extreme day for sure.
I’ve seen this happen to several Strymon pedals, during gigs.
@@CorbCorbin I hope they can fix it, it was a really neat pedal. Creative weirdness.
Damn!! So awesome. I have a few of the older versions .. the Original EL Cap... and a fairly new(er) DIG. these upgrades rule. But do i sell the old ones to buy the new ones..?!?!?
You had me at leg lamp!
Miles is a worthy backdrop for these beautifully revamped pedals❣
Main drawback of the Flint reverb vs. MXR's reverb pedal is that expression pedal functionality only controls the tremolo on the Flint. Not any of the reverb features. It would be nice if there was an option to allow the expression pedal to control some of the reverb features, like decay and mix, as MXR allows.
On V2 Flint, you can configure an EP to control multiple knobs at once, both on the reverb and tremolo side :)
@@strymon Good improvement!
hi does the pedal size casing is the same as the v1? or its a bit bigger size?
Man I love those crazy Nashville teles
Already ordered Capistan and Flint v2 ❤️ Any plan to have Ola v2?
Has the flint spring been changed or improved?
This is so cool. I guess I’m gonna have to rebuy the same pedals I have…
"The Sonic Empire Strikes Back"! Are these ever going to be available as plugins?
My goal is my first album to be using all Strymon focused effects. When I'll be able to utilize this is probably not soon. Once I get good enough ,by then I hope to have at least a big sky or blue sky. Maybe drive pedal first. This entire set is mouth watering. Or ear ? Hahah awesome work Strymon!
Reverb first and drive hehe
Thanks so much! :)
@@strymon Thank you!!!
Is there gonna be a Iridium v2?
i was going to get the V1's of flint and capistan anyway, but with this new set im going to now get the strymon lex V2 which just generally sounds better and looks easier to use as well as getting the V2 of the flint and the capistan
can you please do a video showing how to save presets through midi on El Cap v2 using a controller? Do you have to use Nixie to see what presets are saved where?
Sean is one hell of a player as well 😳
the mono/stereo switch makes it worth it for me to upgrade (but really should have been there from the start tbh)
Great improvements, Strymon! The new manuals are available at this time?
Yep!
www.strymon.net/support/
El Capistan = the GOAT of delays imho. If I could only own one pedal it would be that one.
I'll add a request for future updates or spin-offs of the Iridium- add a Hiwatt head Model and Fane-loaded Hiwatt 4x12 IR's; and likewise, an Orange head Model and Cabs. For example, the Hiwatt head model would be great for those who'd like to try some David Gilmour-esque pedal-and-amp recipes...
Sean, always gets great sounds (From some hideous guitars! Actually I quite like the tweed one...) Anyway, lovely player and good ears. Yeh yeh, the pedals are good too!
Pre-delay as a top knob of the Flint would have been great! Too late to fix?
Brigadier V2 would be awesome!
Am I going to sell my old Deco? No. Am I going to get the new Deco? Yes, yes I am.
Does make me debate trading my Volante for the el cap now that it has midi and presets. Would be keeping the Volante for the stereo head panning and that seems to be about it.
Was thinking the same thing for 1/2 second. But then I remember the playback & recording heads on the Volante are way more flexible, plus the visual of the lights is nice when recalling presets.
Sean is the coolest!
The dude has jazz chops 😎.
Any updates planned for the old bigger pedals like the timeline etc?
Can't discuss future product plans, sorry! :)
@@strymon glad I've held off. Been eyeing many strymon pedals. Can't wait to see what's coming next. These updates are exciting.
Does the V2 version of the el cap feature tap tempo without the effect being turned off, or is this a different feature? Would be the most important for me :) nice video!
Hey there! There is no change to the tapping behavior of the new El Capistan.
@@strymon That's a pity. This is the biggest downside to my favourite delay pedal. Using rhythmic repeats in a live setting is very challenging because of this. Is there a workaround for this via MIDI control? I'm still baffled at this design choice. The pedal sounds so damn good though I can't kick it off my board.
Great guitarist!
Dude has some serious chops!
Howard Hamlin? Love the pedals.
I am surprised you do not make plugins. Lots of non guitar folks would probably like them, plus guitar players like me that use a hybrid system (pedals, amp, load box, DAW with IRs and plugins etc).
P.S. Will Big Sky be getting a make over too?
Check out JST Sky Box
Is el capitan v2 real stereo output or same as original (only external jumper cosmetic/accessability feature)?
This. If it is the Volante is losing a lot of its advantages over the el cap
@@FakeGlasses It's exactly the same pedal but with a new spring knob instead of a secondary function + midi input + USB + mono/stereo switch, the sounds did not change.
So if it is like this honestly i can keep mine 😄 Any official reply from @Strymon ?
Juuuust bought the old deco, too. Dang it.
Was really hoping you were going to incorporate a "reverb tank" sound on the Flint... do any of your pedals offer that surfy "drip" sound..? I like the tremolo on the v1 Flint but my search has continued in the reverb department...
Flint's 60s spring reverb definitely gets very drippy with higher MIX and DECAY settings. We'd also check out BigSky's Spring algorithm, since you can change the amount of springs as well :)
Didnt the old pedals have a Jfet? The old El Cap only had reverb on the delay, is this correct?
You are correct that the original versions had a JFET opamp, but the new circuit is fully discrete, and it's the same circuit that is in Sunset, Riverside, Volante, Nightsky, Volante and Zelzah - we liked it so much that we've put it in everything since it was designed - and yes, the original El Cap's reverb was tied to the delay behavior. Hope that helps!
Cool the pedal like yours products
❤
Here is to hoping the new Jfet input fixes the terrible analog dry through Strymon has always had.
No love for the Brigadier??? Also, does this mean updates for the Iridium incoming to??
Sweet!
Only complaint is you teased me talking about the octave down reverb and didn’t demo it 😭
Hey there - check out the dedicated blueSky audio examples video. It's in there :-) Hope that helps!
@@strymon thanks so much, I will! :)
YES! LIKE IT!
Will that be top deco or bottom deco?
This is fantastic but a problem for my wallet as I have some of the existing pedals :(
Are there any patch management apps to go with these?
From elsewhere in this thread "It's actually mentioned in the launch/overview video - we are working on a brand new version of Nixie that will support all of our MIDI-enabled pedals. It's not ready yet, but it's not forever away. Stay tuned!"
I just watched this pedal and they were all called by name. I’m new to Strymon. Can somebody reply with the pedals are???? For example overdrive, reverb, chorus, delay etc etc etc!!
Can someone from Strymon please respond to this question.
Is there a reason the development of Nixie has stopped?
These new pedal updates are excellent, but managing 300 potential configurations for each without an app is not practical. I just picked up a Zelzah (a recent addition to my multiple other great Strymon pedals) and am struggling to decide how to manage it. Spreadsheets are frustrating when adding them to Nixie would be a clear winner!
An IOS app would be a dream come true considering the recent availability of Bluetooth midi (WIDI) devices. 🙏
It's actually mentioned in the launch/overview video - we are working on a brand new version of Nixie that will support all of our MIDI-enabled pedals. It's not ready yet, but it's not forever away. Stay tuned!
Awesome!
Please include the Iridium and Zelzah.
Is development of an IOS version of the management app being considered?
@@strymon will it also work with Volante?
The plan is for it to support all of our USB and TRS MIDI enabled pedals, so yup - Volante will be included.
I just ordered a Deco yesterday 💀
I almost did too! But it should kick ass on the mastering bus.
will volante get nixie support of all the pedals it needed it on day 1!
That is indeed the plan. :-)
Since Volante has a USB port (but not C) will it benefit from the new software librarian you're going to release?
Yes, the idea we're working toward is to support all of the pedals that are MIDI or USB enabled.
I bought a Dig + El Capistan + Big Sky earlier this week brand new.... that's a lot pain. That being said, for those first two, the sounds are the same but I want Midi and the mono/stereo switches :(
Return them.
I love the pedals. But it reminds me of The Edge from U2 when used with guitar...
Anyone else see the “MAJOR” award next to the stack of amps?!?! 😂👍🏻
Bluesky shall be mine 🫡
Can you please release software versions of your pedals?
We want a El Cap plugin!
Great, well though upgrades.
5:40 Tweed Deluxe Tele?
please add an aux in to the iridium
Any chance for an upgrade incentive program? haha.
Please make a multi effects with all there in it
Still have my original Flint, it'll never be off my board.
