For Maltese, I heard an 'old gymnastic judge' commenter say that a maltese is good up until the height between the shoulders and hands exceeds the height of a fist. Excluding dead planche variations.
i would not give much attention to gymnasts judge though, lots of things are dumb in gymnastics, the rule for maltese is shoulder at wrist size without triceps touching ur lats (dead planche) this allow narrow wide dead planche which are much easier cf samir ait said on rings, imo width is more important with a good protraction than a retracted maltese, maltese on double p bars are wide planche to me if you consider it maltese that means the person is low enough which means they're not actively pushing but resting in their joints, maltese is very hard to judge. if i was making the rule maltese would be protracted with shoulders at wrists levels which would also make maltese a more difficult and appreciated skill sadly (or not) i dont make the rule but leaning forward in a wide planche is truly easy compared to an "airplane" maltese (which as i said should be the normal maltese).
I know you are a dynamic guy but I really feel like you are missing so many cues for the statics. 1.We call the top of the FL part "Touch" and not "Top". 2. Laizans angle is way higher than a V sit - it's even higher than an I sit but yes, it is an I sit. 3. Also, you don't even notice the different Maltese grips - the supinated one is much harder than the pronated one for example. These are honestly basic things about statics which I really think you should know as a critique. The only reason I'm telling you this is because I like you and your videos and as a pure static guy, it's a bit awkward for me to sometimes watch you talking about statics and missing out on the juice
agree, btw also as a static guy, Laizan's last touch lever is not clean because he is not really touching the bar, just saying, he still got insane statics
Thanks for your comment! We all can improve and I am happy that you are pointing out these stuff that I could make better for the series 🌟 I am a bit hold school (been in the Cali game for 8+ years) and top hold was the first time, but will have this in mind for next battles 🙌🏼 For the V-sit and I sit move, for me there is extremely good V-sit and not something called I sit, your body never shapes an I, it’s always a V-sit 😅 Grip: will have this in mind when commenting and sharing my opinion🔥 Thanks again for your comment 🙏🏻
@fergusor5364 yup, you are right. Laizans has super fine and pretty lines with all of his skills and it looks very clean but ultimately he is doing easy variations and when he tries more advanced things or higher volume, it right away shows the ocean of difference between his level compared to current top strength. And for my boy Daniel, it goes like this : L sit - V sit - I sit - Mana. It's up to you if you wanna call all of this V sit but just know that it is cringe for anyone who is not a complete noob at statics. Love you bro and will watch your next videos without repeating my feedback 💜
Why do Laizans need to do high volume when he is competing in Freestyle Calisthenics and not static competition😅 waste of energy and time and don’t give you maximum points according to the rules. I don’t know your anatomy, but there is no I sit. But keep thinking that, you have right to your opinion. Did not know you speak for the whole community suddenly or yourself🙌🏼 All love, I don’t want everyone to agree with everyone. These series are meant to fire discussion aswell🔨
@DanielFlefil well, he may not need higher volume for SWUB but you can see very clearly that his FL pull ups don't last for more than about 2 reps with full range of motion and maybe you don't see this but other athletes are doing 4 with pauses at touch which is 10x more advanced and for this to happen you need higher volume of FL pull up power even if you don't do 10 pull ups at the comp. Regarding the V sit, look at the letter V - there is a clear gap between both lines. Once there is no gap (the way Laizanas does) then it is no longer a V. Perhaps you will be more accepting if I call it "II" instead of "I" but this will really just be your thing. Furthermore, he goes beyond I and even rotates his body back as we do to enter a Mana so it's just a bunch of steps beyond a V sit. And lastly, YES I so represent the community and so do YOU. All of us are the community and representatives of it. If one day there will be a real committee which creates guidelines about each skill officials, then I will not not talk like this anymore.
@@DanielFlefil i mean like when you are saying in this video that Daniels had the experience competition that many people neglects & he knows whats he is doing that nobody talk bout this except you. And thats what im saying " Flefil knows what daniels opinion in the cali competitions"
So glad you are doing these videos again and pretty often as well. Thanks for doing these🙌
Yes! Plan is 3 times per week for a while (have a lot to catch up on) 🤣
