My Dad made the best homemade stew ever!!! He knew his base line but he wasn’t afraid to add whatever we had. I lost him last year. This beautiful video has my heart breaking. I miss him so much. Thank you for sharing your life and God w us! ❤
I'm so sorry for your loss the heartache of losing a parent is devastating and of course for losing anyone we love but when a parent passes it's so hard to move on they have been with us our whole life. Lost my mom in January of 1998 and I still miss her daily my dad passed when I was 2,1/2 yrs old so I don't have really any memories of him . My mom never remarried if she ever dated I don't know anything about it. She was 35 when she had me in 1964 different time back then she stayed home and took care of me full-time we was blessed she could do that. SENDING YOU PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS ESPECIALLY THIS FATHER'S DAY.🙏🕊️🙏
Amen! Romans 1:16 KJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. ❤✝️🙏🏻 Praise the Lord Jesus Christ, who saved a wretch like me. I love You Lord God. Maranatha 🙏🏻
😂. My grandmother's father was Irish, a "Sullivan". She really loved her Irish roots; Nanny's been resting in eternal peace for 23 years and is still sorely missed.
Becky, thank you so much for triggering good memories....This was how my sweet Daddy used to cook. I rarely saw him look at a recipe, but he could make a feast out of just a few things. His grandma taught him to cook, which is why he was an expert at making do with what he had on hand. And nothing was wasted! His pintos and crackling cornbread were soooo good 😋
God bless you Becky! Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes and God's word! I could listen to you talk all day, your voice is so calming and I just hear God's love in it!!
It's easy to be a great cook when you spend the money for fancy ingredients. But a REAL Cook knows how to take the simplest, least expensive ingredients and create a healthy and tasty meal. And THAT is why I love a channel like this one. Real Cooking for Real People !!!
Love the videos, I like this with green beans and mushrooms. Instead of water I use beef stock and a clove of garlic. Shalom and much ❤ from Lexington Kentucky.... Titus 2:13 🙏
This is a smaller batch of soup than the other "Hamburger Soup" that you posted. I'm alone and need this version! Thank you. God bless you and your loved ones. 😇
My family loves this kind of soup. We call it autumn soup because of the colors. If I've got them, I'll add some beef bouillon and a splash or two of worcestershire to it.
Becky, that looks absolutely delicious. Thank you for sharing your recipes with us. Have been watching you many years. May God keep blessing and protecting you.
Just found your channel. I am in last days of ALS, been on feeding tube for 2 years, but really enjoy your videos. I have LARGE family. Have been sharing your videos and encouraging young women in family to check you out. My wife very good cook as well, never gave me an opportunity to complain. You’re doing a good work, and appreciate your Bible verses. God bless
God Bless you Dennis Wilhelm. May your young lady family members follow your encouragement, they won't go wrong with that. My mom always told me, a way to a man's heart is through his stomach lol, I don't think she was far off from that statement, my father in law God rest his soul, he loved my cooking and bragged on it at every opportunity. Made my husband proud of me and he told his dad I got a good woman. I loved that it made me feel good. May peace be with you God Bless.
My mom always made hamburger soup for us, many times during the colder months when we were growing up in the 60s in Central MN. One of my favorite dishes. 😅
Wasn't Aware That this was LIVE! But, I just watcched & Enjoyed..Thank You Becky for this VERY EASY RECIPE & For sure YOUR SHARING GOD'S WORD & YOUR Words of Encouragement! God Bless & Have a Wonderful Weekend..
i use ground beef all the time to make vegtable beef and barley soup. lots of fresh veggies carrots celery onions potatoes mushrooms squash zuccenee green beans peas corn tomatoes spinach cabbage kale fresh herbs and barley . seasoning of course. taste great and very healthy.
This is my first time commenting on here. I just want to let you know I have made several of your recipes and all of them have been great! Thank you for your help. I also love your added scriptures.
Throw in a big handful of frozen green peas during the last five minutes. A big bag of frozen peas is cheap and adds color, etc. Soooo useful for so many dishes.
My granny used to make this kind of soup. Because she & Pawpaw didn’t have many leftovers she would quick freeze any beef or vegetables she did have then she had a large freezer container she added them to. When that container was full she made a pot of soup. That was always the best soup!
I've always known this as kitchen sink because you can add everything but the kitchen sink. My granny taught me how to make it and I've taught my own children and grandchildren. Thank you for sharing your version
Wow!😂 You just put a name to what I fed my kids when they were growing up! Whatever I cooked Monday thru Thur , the leftovers went into the soup/stew pot on Friday. We ate that stew all weekend. It was our survival. Little to no waste of food! ❤
Howdy from Mountain View, Mo. Love today's message! One of God's Nudges. Thank you! I dehydrate a lot of my veggies and use them in mine. I dehydrate my potato's also.
Becky, my atheist adult daughter likes your easy recipes as I send her the good ones. Pls pray for her. I cannot get thru to her but maybe u can. Her name is Amy.
Made a pot of "Hamburger Stew" last week. It's the great fridge and cabinet cleaner so varies from time to time. Had it frequently growing up and and make it frequently for my family. I like to add green beans and carrots as well. It typically gets a can of V8 and a can of tomato soup (adds to the creamyness of the stew) as well. Most recently included carrots, onions and mushrooms from a beef roast. Super good. Love to watch your channel, it reminds me of home and family. Keep up the great work and spreading the word.
every time i see your sign put god first reminds me of a song i wrote years ago been writing gospel songs most my life been a believer all my life anyway ty for your videos
In my family shipwreck stew is called "Uncle Toby's Slop". He used to make this and I loved it, but my Aunt Tootie, his wife, was not a fan - thus the name as she always called it slop! He( and I still do) put cut up rutabaga, parsnips, one can of every kind of vegetable in the cupboard (well, not beets) and we don't put any kidney beans in it because our family has a great chili recipe for that item. So, potatoes, parsnip, rutabaga, corn, green beans, peas, carrots, onion, peppers, celery, garlic, tomatoes (chopped, stewed, sauce, whatever combo). Also, our Dutch family always has dried vegetables for seasoning which i throw in at the end. I used to make a huge pot and a crockpot full and take it to work. We were lucky if it lasted throughout the lunch hour !
I just love your cooking, and devotionals! What a breath of fresh air. I will try this recipe soon. I have 90% of the items . Viewing your post feels like going to a small group gathering. What a blessing ❤ thank you for sharing…..viewing from Orange CA
My Dad used to make soup like this. He didn't have much growing up, and they had to make due with what they had. I love & miss him so much, thankful he showed us how to cook like this.❤
We called it homemade hobo stew. We made it to church camp outside on a triangle playing underneath in one of those cast down Dutch ovens and smell wonderful use ground beef too. There was not a drop left. We were so hungry we had seconds and the boys had third, I love going to church camp when I was growing up really love your show. God bless love and Jesus always.
My husband loved my hamburger soup, I lost him last January, he is with the Lord now. I added a little or a few mushrooms to mine the rest is the same.
Amen and amen! That's a great dish. I could see some cabbage or turnips in there...they add (just like the corn) a little sweetness. One of my favorite side dishes is boiled potatoes and turnips...add a little salt, pepper and butter and you're good to go! Yum!
Love it. My daughter calls it hunter stew and every time she fixes it, just like when I did the ingredients would be slightly different. Leftovers never stood a chance with her or I. 🤣
In addition to your ingredients listed, I add a can of tomato soup, beef broth, carrots, and some frozen peas. It’s one of my pickier daughter’s favorite meals.
We make a shipwreck still very similar to this. If we have black-eyed peas and okra and corn, we will add it. If we don't have those items, we add whatever we have to this stew. Thank you for your recipe it sounds so delicious.
I am almost 39 and never have I heard, if the soup is too salty add a potato! I grew up on pinto beans, fried potatoes, cornbread... By grandmother.. but my mom didn't try to cook until I was grown. You're an inspiration and... You look like my mother in law! Iove her❤ Thanks for the tips that come with the recipes, and the gospel along the way. I don't live right but we all need to HEAR it.
You are so well-spoken, Becky! i particularly noticed that during your live eclipse video... This "stew" is very similar to what i call "rainy day soup", never having heard of Shipwreck Stew, at the time. i usually add green beans; i also drain and rinse my kidney beans, but use the liquid from the other canned additions. Thank you for sharing. Just like to add James 2: 14-25 to expand on your scripture highlight. You are always so encouraging, prompting us to walk in the Light. Thank you!♥
Thank you for this recipe, sister Becky. I watch this video at 10pm Saturday night… thought 🤔 hmmm, I think I have all the ingredients except for potatoes … so I made it the next morning for church… using elbow macaroni instead of potatoes and it was a hit! Thank you and God Bless you for your recipes and BOLD and FAITHFUL service to the Lord Jesus Christ. ❤🙏🏻✝️ Romans 1:16 KJV
How could I not think of something so easy and simple to fix. Being by myself, I always seem to have leftover vegetables. And now I have leftover bean soup from last night. Thank you for sharing this!
Amen Becky. I usually rinse my spoon in the hot water from the sink every time I stir my food. But I'm your age and still here after cooking all those years. Keep up the bible verses! I love my God, Jesus christ is king!
I miss you sister! Trust in God always, and I know that you know this! God does have a plan for you! And I know that you know that also , please slow down and listen to our creator! Love you! You are a blessing to me , ! Thank you for sharing your life! You are a wonderful person !
This is a good soup. i would love to add bell peppers. Love the flavor along with the tomatos. Looking forward to seeing your hamburger soup, vs. this one
Becky, this is verylike what my grandmother used to make. She would put in frash veg, plus canned, andfrozen, all together...whatever she had. It was. SO good, but have never made it myself..... She often put in extra potatoes (to make it go farther) . Look,s like I finally know how she did it! Thank you again for "reviving" these old ways of cooking. They are just the best. She would thicken hers with some instant mash potato flakes. ( Her own idea, I think.) And if there was a leftover pork chop or the like, she ground it up and put that i n too. Wonderful flavor & you really can put in just what you like.
I had some small green tomatoes given to me &. I fixed beef veggie soup. I cut up the green tomatoes & added them! This was the best soup I had ever made.
I like knowing there will be something about Jesus in your videos. I have a stew recipe but this really showed me more about how to make it different every time ❤
I grew up hamburger in soups, I love it. My people are from Kentucky. But my husband hates hamburger in soups, so we rarely make it. This video has me craving some vegetable stew!
Cubes of sweet potato adds a wonderful flavor to any soup 😋
My Dad made the best homemade stew ever!!! He knew his base line but he wasn’t afraid to add whatever we had. I lost him last year. This beautiful video has my heart breaking. I miss him so much. Thank you for sharing your life and God w us! ❤

Awesome stew Becky! I would add a head of cabbage chopped up about a half hour before it's done. I just love cabbage in these types of meals.

Amen sister 🙏 blessings to you and yours from a brother in Christ jesus from Ireland 🇮🇪 🙏 ❤ 🙌
If it works okay with the soup, I'll toss in a good handful of instant potato flakes to make it less salty and it thickens it a bit too. 😊
I make a similar stew but I just call it hamburger stew. My favorite thing to add towards the end is cabbage.
Thank you, what a true Blessing you are!!!
Thank you for the recipes it look good and thank you for sharing God's word with me so have a good day.

When my mom made hamburger soup, she didn’t brown the meat. She just dumped the meat into the water along with all the vegetables. It was wonderful.
Wonderful flavor & you really can put in just what you like.
Thank you for sharing! God bless you!
Thank you for always including the recipe.
I had some small green tomatoes given to me &. I fixed beef veggie soup. I cut up the green tomatoes & added them! This was the best soup I had ever made.
Looks really good! Thank you, too, for the scripture . ❤
Great recipe. Made it. Loved it for several meals.
I spent my summers

You make the best things! You are a blessing ❤
I grew up hamburger in soups, I love it. My people are from Kentucky. But my husband hates hamburger in soups, so we rarely make it. This video has me craving some vegetable stew!
