3 years ago I was sexually abused and the first time i listened to this I hadn't talked to anyone about it, this made me tear up in such a way that in a way I started healing but at the same time it made me feel less lonely and made me start a conversation with myself about it so I could start to deal and eventually talk about it to my closest friends. Thank you Bree, just want to let you know your amazing work has made a huge impact in my life and I'm truly grateful.
*"Girl,I twerked over his dead body"* No but seriously how am I seeing that only NOW?! The melanin, the choreography, the concept that deals w real issues w some photographer, everything was on point.
Cause this world ain't shit. I just bought the track & will probably spend all 12 hours of my shift tomorrow playing it to def. Have you heard her EP yet?
Was this woman on a talent competition and with a girl group for years? Otherwise, the progression of their career cannot be compared. Also, this song is fire.
I think I finally get the beginning scene. They are all sitting there silently looking at each other because its something that all of them have experienced but none of them talk about
I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this video....I love the ending “sorry is he still seeing people?”.....Bree -“not today huntay” wig snatched off 😫😭
The symbolism in this could have been Bree breaking away from the white male gaze and expressing her beauty/sexuality as a Black woman on her own terms. The industry is crushing and suffocating to any kind of woman and that's hinted at the beginning before the photoshoot. The end where she literally slayed and starting dancing on top of the dude was her doing her own thing without being stifled by the white male gaze, and the part where she even put his hand on her furthered the power shift because she made a choice for her to be all sexy in front of him This was brilliant
@@HavanaSaint i'm gonna need you to 1) stop pretending that reverse racism is a thing and 2) look at the video again, the dude's a white photographer. art is open to interpretation anyways Get out my damn face sis ❤ you obviously don't have the range
I thought it was a representation of rape culture or possibly because they all came together to stop this man. But I think that's just my interpretation.
