  • We just introduced continental philosophy, so let's take a look at the analytic tradition that arose around the same time, as the modern era was drawing to a close. Of the two schools, this was the one more concerned with philosophy of science and epistemology, which came about through figures like Comte, Spencer, Peirce, and others. Let's get a sense of this school now.

Thank you for what you do sir. I'm grateful for your informative videos as well as your standing up against ignorance and misinformation.
I believe you are one of the most valuable thinkers and speakers.
You might seem harsh to some but I value the ferocity with which you fight against those who seek to hold our species back . Keep opening minds sir.

Some people are scientists. And some people are scientists/communicators because they are thinkers. I think Dave cares about reality/truth in any form.

    Dear Professor,
As Flemish and French speaking Belgian, I would like to make a complete irrelevant remark: though it might have its importance. I believe that the correct pronounciation of any name is quite important: so it should be for the name of Auguste Comte. If you don't mind, I would like to help in that.
As the "phonetical alphabet" is unknown to me I will try to use in the best way the English one:
Auguste Comte is read as OGUST (that you prononced quite correctly) CONTE (without saying the E but giving a more strong T at the end; like in "count". It is, factually, pronounced in the same way as "le 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐞 de Monté-Christo" of Alexandre Dumas)
Again it is completely irrelevant in the topic, but has, in my humble opinion, its importance.
To end: it is always a pleasure to enrich my own knowledge with your tutorials - nobody is too young to learn - and it is a just fun to see how you correctly are exposing 𝐀𝐋𝐋 those crea-tins members of the di. I really hope "sieur" berlinski will also get the adequate attention from you.
Finnaly: thank you for you attention to read this comment and just wish you all the best with your UA-cam Channel that is factually a gem in popularising science.
    Best regards
