- in my van, the side access door of the #thetford Cassette Toilet let some water in. I don't know if it leaked through the seals of the door or if water found its way through the push- button latches. In this video, I fix both problems.
I don't know if Lexel or the Frost King Rubber Seal is available outside of North America. But I'm sure some good sealant and weatherstripping is available in other countries, too.
We sealed the toilet flush button due to many people on the Revel group saying the shower water causes the button to short out making the toilet water run uncontrollably. I didn't notice caulk on yours". Thank you for all of your very helpful videos.
that's a great comment. thank you. It is something I just fixed: ua-cam.com/video/N_xj-kcCGQM/v-deo.html
Nice job.
Thanks for sharing the info 👍 Not sure if you know but at the back of the toilet on both sides I found 2 small 3” x 1” plastic covers that pop off and I found shower water getting into that area and a little moldy ! Had to clean it out but I haven’t sealed the area yet. Thanks and Happy New Year 🎉
good info, thank you. I need to check this out, too
So much for a wet toilet shower. I’ll look for this as well. Thanks a lot.
Yes the door can be installed with the hinge at the bottom. The installation template has alignment holes placed at both orientations.
well done as usual...Thanks so much!
What about rotating the door 180deg so the rain-deflector is towards the wind and the front of the van?
first of all let me say that after the fixes I am showing in the video, I have not seen any other water coming through the toilet access door. I guess rotating the door is possible and it will give a better water ingress protection on the front facing side of the door but I would be super- worried that if I ever forget to fully close (latch) the door or if the lock somehow fails, it will be flapping open violently. I much rather have the hinge side facing forward so the wind cannot catch it and push it back
