Hi Darran thank you great video , I am flattered with your kind comments, I had forgot we did all that as well as the Lithium, seems ages ago now, glad we could help you out mate, hope it is still holding up well for you 👍
You deserve all the praise you get Rob. I was let down by the motorhome company I bought from and when I met you and your your team it was a world away from I experienced. Such an honest and experienced team. Well done for helping Darren out of an awful situation 🥰
No way Darren... You inspired me to think about full time motorhoming - and I purchased my motorhome from oak tree last March. The team there are amazingly helpful. My salesman was a big Nottingham Forest fan and really looked after me. My van has been faultless. Top company!!!
Wow a lot of work but good video I bought my 2002 timberland freedom from oaktree in September 2021 and have been very pleased before I bought it visited their premises on several occasions sitting in various models of Motorhomies and looking at different layouts etc Lee the salesman was very kind to me
Want to echo everything you said. Took my camper into Oaktree for a rewire and change my leaking batteries. I was given a five week leadtime for the work to be done Rob was good enough to lend me a battery so i could take my Lake District holiday. On my return they installed a Lithium 216 and rewired the electrics. First class job. Almost forgot Liam the Terrible and his dog was there and he showed me inside his van. Im now one of his followers he does amazing camper builds.
Another shout out to Rob and Oaktree. Although we haven’t bought a van from him as we already had ours he’s been super helpful with our battery and solar. Never selling us anything we don’t need and taking so much time with us. We aren’t ready for a new motorhome for a while as we love ours but when we are I’ll definitely be contacting Rob and giving him the business. Darren I’m so glad you got this sorted as that must have been so scary.
I find it so hard to believe a manufacturer thinks it is acceptable to put a joint in an inaccessible place. I know sometimes you have to run pipework (gas or water) behind panels or even under floors....but do it in one length so it cant leak without being punctured. A joint can always leak. Its a good job you found some decent people who can fix problems like that.
I Shall definately call in at Oaktree on my travels to get acquainted with them as you never know. I am a retired tradesman but i dont know Everything about Motorhomes. 👍🏻
Thumbs up oaktree for the openness. Shows a lot of confidence in your own work and services. I’m looking for a motorhome privately but wouldn’t think twice about purchasing from your company. Nice one Darren. Respect shown all round

rob is such a top bloke , like oneof them guys you meet and he's just like you wished every one was like , and what a nightmare but great fix from them guys
As a joiner of 40 years and counting, it looks like they did your work correctly. Only thing I might have looked at doing is leaving an inspection hatch at the area where your t connector is, just so you can give it the once over every few months. No idea if that is possible once your insulation is back in but lack of access is why you didn’t see the rot before. Anyway, looks like a good company.
Actually i like that idea , and it makes an awful lot of sense . There are connections under there , and they're sealed . My own Hymer has twin shower traps under the tray , and flow can be a bit slow , makes me think a clean maybe needed . The traps are cleanable , but you just try and get access . Maybe i will add one , have to take a look , at whether that's feasible .

Our structural repair guy Paul who you've seen in the video is of legendary skill level and has done literally 1000s of similar repairs. He can strip a motorhome which needs repair and build it back up again properly to original standard. Yep they know what they doing by the look of it gr8 job. I done my motorhome floor myself with injection method and had to replace parts of the floor witch had seen better days.gr8 video
Darren, I think they are not well built from new, the wood they use, does not seem treated, and the push fit couplings they use, are cheap and nasty, with the price of these new, you would think that they are built to a good standard, and capable of lasting for many years without a problem, its a good job that Oak tree were able to assist you, they look a trustworthy and well run company, with a good reputation
Looks like the lads at oak tree did a cracking job, quite new to your videos but I like that you show the good the bad and the ugly! Never wanted a motor home till I started watching your videos 🤣
Great Vid D man. I lived on narrowboat many years ago and those push fit bloody pipes flooded my boat with the entire contents of my water tank. Wrote off all the woodwork, walls and floors ..... luckily, it was only 1 year old and the company refitted it. Hope to see you again D at this years NEC.

Top job done, brought back memories seeing him with his mcallister multi tool, mine lasted a good 3 years of utter abuse , prob one of the best cheapest tools i ever owned, does the resin really make a huge difference in the floor
Been waiting to see this. I know ours is needing replacing. Its squidgy!! But I feel better knowing it can be done without ripping the interior out. Thanks for showing us.
If anybody is buying a campervan and the seller tells you it's been lived in you need to be extra careful and check it well because condensation and leaks from a vehicle that's been lived in there is usually a lot of damage in places usually can't look at on vehicles that are not very old.. That's a good way of fixing the floor never thought of that👌...
That resin system is brilliant. The floor is rock solid after the injection and much more resistant to it ever happeing again. As Darran mentioned in the video it can be done from underneath at a higher labour cost to preserve the original flooring. If you do it from the top you can just stick a new layer of vinyl flooring over to hide the dowels.
It’s an absolutely horrible thing to find in a motorhome… A few years ago the kitchen area in my van became spongy, so after some frantic googling I bought a delaminating repair kit and eventually repaired the area myself from within. We now have a Panel van so that particular worry is no longer. I have to say though that I think you’re very brave admitting to it, as a future sale or trade in is very much out there. We live not too far away from Oaktree and have visited them on a occasions.
Hi darling, we were wondering if you were able to tell us as new van lifers is how we find out where the meat ups are the dates and the cost be much appreciated if you could give us some information thank you
That looked awful. That is why getting the motorhome hab checked every year is important. If you have been having it done thats terrible if the engineer not picked up that much damp. Glad it's sorted.
Feel for ya maté happened to me but it’s also the side skirts First thing I do now when get a new van is rip the material off the timber under the van because holds moisture Rip that off let it breath
kudos to the repair company indeed but omgosh, so much batten, untreated wood, polystyrene and plastic in campervans! Glad i instead bought a Modular Ambulance…. aluminium and stainless steel supports and flooring with not a sight of wood below floor level anywhere (in fact the only wood is to support the foam padding so you don’t bang your head! (and my furniture lol) I guess £150k gets you a better box… An interesting video indeed Darren. Do you really want another Motorhome after seeing that? 😮
To be fair Darran's van is quite old technology now and most manufacturers have moved to GRP panels and Aluminium framework now so even if they leak the water can drain out of the walls without causing any damage. Some of the early Alu-Tech Baileys suffered from water hitting the edge of the floor when it leaked through the walls but this seems to have been fixed in later models.
Just found part of my garage is spongy and I've been quoted a grand which I'm happy with. I know there's no prices anywhere here but I'd guess double or even triple for the amount of work you've had done. Am I close?
agree totally in what you say Daron im going have lithium fitted and Rob doesnt push you into buying more than is needed not like other companies that try to get as much money out of you as they can top man is that rob
Wow, fantastic repair. You are soooo lucky Darren as I would have estimated that at being £thousands. Reading the comments I see Rob said it was £1500, that's honestly a true bargain. Lovely job Rob and you are a lucky so-and-so to have such a good contact. Top marks 👍
Bloody hell 😮 that was scary those guys made it look easy didn’t they! Super team and we will keep a note of them when we trade in ours it’s great to know you can relay on a reputable firm to do the checks before they sell you a Motorhome 😂 hope to bump into you at the NEC 😃 Debs and Mark xxx
Those push fit connectors are crap even when they are accessible. The rubber o rings that make them seal, harden over time , and then they lose the seal and leak. My German van has tail connectors that are sealed with jubilee clips. They have never leaked and the van is 16 years old and constantly used
Feel and share your pain. I had the same issue with my purchase. However Mine had to be more so a full inside strip out, including side panels, windows out , new timber all sides, rear and roof. All wall mounted cupboard stripped out as the backs and underside had been water ingress for years, same mulch as your floor. All had to be renewed. Then all new 100% rewiring, 100% plumbing. Underside had been very carefully work upon to hide the ROT. I have so far used 8x4ft 4x4ft 1.4mm sheet steel to fabricate all new panels, old cut out, Oh and I'm on my 3rd roll of Mig wire, guess what I still haven't finished. I am totally disgusted with what has happened. Some people are smiley face but black hearts. I guess that the chance you take pay before you buy.
i would have had them use marine grade plywood and then have it sealed with enamel paint (4) coats) or other wood sealer and under coat spray when put back together. did that to my trailer and my fishing boat. i know its over kill but it lasted 10 yrs of hard use
The motorhome manufacturers bang em out and as long as they get through the warranty period they don't give 2 hoots. SWIFT should be ashamed, there vehicles and caravans are shocking

I guess £150k gets you a better box…
An interesting video indeed Darren.
Just wondering how much all that work cost , can you give us a clue...
Darren, I love your video's because you always give an unbiased and complete explanation keep up the brilliant work bud
Just found part of my garage is spongy and I've been quoted a grand which I'm happy with. I know there's no prices anywhere here but I'd guess double or even triple for the amount of work you've had done. Am I close?
Oh hail the gray haired blokes in cheap specs who are not fazed and just get on with it. But where is his apprentice ??
agree totally in what you say Daron im going have lithium fitted and Rob doesnt push you into buying more than is needed not like other companies that try to get as much money out of you as they can top man is that rob
Wow, fantastic repair. You are soooo lucky Darren as I would have estimated that at being £thousands. Reading the comments I see Rob said it was £1500, that's honestly a true bargain.
Lovely job Rob and you are a lucky so-and-so to have such a good contact. Top marks 👍
Darren I mean is the lucky so-and-so 👍
Bloody hell 😮 that was scary those guys made it look easy didn’t they! Super team and we will keep a note of them when we trade in ours it’s great to know you can relay on a reputable firm to do the checks before they sell you a Motorhome 😂 hope to bump into you at the NEC 😃 Debs and Mark xxx
How much did this work cost? It looked a big job. Xx
Those push fit connectors are crap even when they are accessible. The rubber o rings that make them seal, harden over time , and then they lose the seal and leak. My German van has tail connectors that are sealed with jubilee clips. They have never leaked and the van is 16 years old and constantly used
Why didn’t they do the toilet door frame while they had the bumper trim off and shower floor out?
Hi Darren was this done at oak tree Nottingham, only asking because mine is just the same and the big one what was the cost regards colin
fantastic video
A big job what is done. Thnx for sharing.
that is amazing to see how repairable that type of thing is, i would have felt the same as you mate. game over !
how much did it cost to do this? whas it a 1 day job?
❤️
i would have had them use marine grade plywood and then have it sealed with enamel paint (4) coats) or other wood sealer and under coat spray when put back together. did that to my trailer and my fishing boat. i know its over kill but it lasted 10 yrs of hard use
The motorhome manufacturers bang em out and as long as they get through the warranty period they don't give 2 hoots.
SWIFT should be ashamed, there vehicles and caravans are shocking
