Hey. We are appreciative of you. I know I am not the only one who would rather listen to you regarding the Tigers than anyone on 97.1 the Ticket. I am just too lazy to prove it. Keep rocking in 2025 Scott.
I agree with you. Keep Vierling! I love the guy. He brings all kinds of intangibles to the ball club in addition to a good set of hard stats. He does so many things well, or as you say he just has a good vibe around him.
That was the whole point of that trade, when we traded off Soto for Vierling and company... to be that starter at third. He played two or three times at that position in the end of that first full season with. AJ and Harris pushed Maton, who was terrible there. Last year we didn't see an everyday 3b there from Vierling. Weencel Perez is also an infielder... so it's gonna be tough for that right field position unless platooning from infield. Question is... who is gonna be traded or... who is gonna be held back?
@@Don-n6o other than the facts he’s a below average fielder at third and terrible in the playoffs, he’s great. Good vibes don’t win championships, performance does.
If the Bregman pursuit actually comes to fruition, Vierling becomes the perfect swing/utility guy. Those guys are essential to successful baseball teams. I do have reservations about Bregman, the ballpark fit and his offensive trajectory in general. Would be thrilled to have him, I just hope they wouldn't lock themselves in for too long a term.
Should be a very interesting spring training this year. How will Baez respond after his surgery? Can the pitching incubator improve Matt Manning and Casey Mize? When will Alex Cobb be on the injury list? Is this the year that Clark and McGonigle advance to Toledo? Who's at third?
Hoping for good things for Javy, post surgery. He needs a resurgence to show continued viability, even in order to be included in a deal to another team. Let's hope he can pull it off. We have major players coming up to vie for his place. Best to him.
I have quite a bit of optimism that Mize is still about to have that post-op break out. Maybe not the 1:1 ace we had hoped for but a solid 2-3 that gets you double digit wins and 3.5 era would go a long way.
Can you imagine the Tigers getting a lineup like Fielder, Magglio & Cabrera? Or like Cash, Colavito & Kaline? Having an offseason that surpassed the Dodgers and Mets? I would kiss the ground that Chris Illitch, Harris & Hinch walks on. AND... It could actually happen! For sure, i have mega love for Matt Vierling. Hoping he stays put. Happy New Year, Scott!!! ❤️
What did the Everly Bros say? " Dream, Dream, Dream"! This clown outfit will do nothing. Enjoy your Alex Cobb and Mr. Non-hustle Torres. Along with Majeda, they will make the triumvirate of the year.
Tork has value as a possible raking DH and improved at first base late last season. Another team may have an idea to unlock his power, my idea is that hes always stood tall in the box and very few hitters have done well doing that- CJ Cron comes to mind. He should try standing more athletic with waist bend
Bregman's 2024 numbers don't jive with a long term contract. Don't be surprised if the Tigers just take a pass. I don't see them paying for him for more then 4 years if they do. Santander may be a better option.
Agree with you. Bregman has to be one of the most overrated FAs to come out on a long time. He's on the wrong side of 30 and his numbers are declining. Frankly, I'd like to see what Jung can do in a full season. He could quite possibly put up better numbers than Bregman next year.
TORK I BELIEVE CAN HIT .280 - 25+HR - 85+RBI IF HE HITS THE BALL (WHERE ITS PITCHED!!) GO WITH THE PITCH!! FONT TRY TO BOMB EVERY PITCH!! He can and still has the Talent to do so!! - But I do have to admit, if he cannot figure it out this year, he must go.
Unless Vierling as asking for a trade behind-the-scenes I I see no common sense reason to trade him, especially to the Stankees! We just signed one of their castoffs in Torres - why I have no idea! I am really shaking my head with this team's offseason decisions. They stuck with Baez, who has done nothing but bleed this team of money, like his pal Cabrera for the last half of his career. Now they're talking about blowing another 200 million and probably a lot more on Bregman? Do they never learn???? They signed Cobb, why? It's a risk that I have no idea why the Tigers would be interested in taking, especially after the Great Kenta Maeda bust. Again, do they think making the same dumb mistake is somehow going ot result in the exact oppo result? That's literally the definition of insanity. C'mon Tigers! You built a good young team that's hungry for wins and fun to watch. YOu have the best fans in baseball backing you up. DON'T F IT UP!
I watch Torkelson and there’s too much talent just yet to get rid of him. I just wish he would hit the ball where it’s pitched! Just hit the ball. Do not worry about where it’s going! He tries to pull everything! If he would just learn to make contact and spray it all over the place, he would increase his batting average in my opinion 30 to 50 points! He is absolutely a key to get this offense moving!
Bregman’s cost no way! This is NOT Bregman of five years ago!! SAVE THAT $$$ FOR YOUNGER PLAYERS! - And do not trade Verling he’s a team player and a solid versatile defender
Hey man I like Bregman but paying him big money would be foolhardy. Bregman's gonna hit you 15-20 hr? ,270 Ba? Veirling hit 16hr and .257 last yr. Not saying Alex Bregman isn't an upgrade, but C'mon man !
I dont want Bregman because I dont want him long term, if he signed for two years id do it but he wont. Bregman is on a downward track, his walkrate was alarming bad last season, also he would have fewer homers in Comerica natl park . Year 3 with him could be a big problem. Put Vierling at third and hope Bregman gets screwed over by MLB teams. I would pay money to see him get nothing. Sign Santander a legit bat in his prime.
Agreed! Let the Stankees sign Bregman and pay that huge long term salary. I like Bregman, but not for the Tigers. We've been down that veteran albatross path with Baez. I'd be happy at this point if they just stopped signing risky players before they start deciding to trade away players we enjoyed watching last year. Just work on bringing up the young talent. They have one of the best farms in baseball! If they have to trade a name that might bring something, Tork and throw Maeda in the deal. They wouldn't get much, but it might shore up a support role.
Vierling is overrated imo. He doesn’t drive in runs, can’t play middle infield, and doesn’t have great at bats. The tigers can’t fall in love with players if they want to win a World Series.
He’s met with 6 teams so far he isn’t down to only 6 teams. I keep hearing SD is a favorite and he hasn’t even met with them yet either so I don’t think he’s done listening to pitches. Keep the faith my friend! 🤞🏼😖🤞🏼
Free agents don’t want to come here because they can see how cheap the Tigers are. Only willing to give out one or two year deals The Tigers have money to spend

The Tigers should not give up on Torkelson he's been successful every level I believe this is going to be his brake out year
How about break out year? Yikes, but I agree, if he goes, he will be a star under the proper coaching.
What if it’s not though, how many more years do you hang on to this guy?
Too late...Tork to Minors...unless he's tears up in Spring Training then he platoons at DH

Gimme Bregman and Kim.
I really want Sherman on my team. He is such a glue guy.
Any chance getting both?
We be lucky to get either with this cheap ass ownership!
Theres a good hitter inside of Tork. He might not unlock his full potential in detroit though. Ill always root for the guy!
I really don't think any of these rumors will happen. Owner ijs just too cheap. Nice for rumors, but no gonna happen.
Personally i'm so sick of rumours wake me up when the team aquires someone decent, you can speculate for hours it means didly
I prefer Wenceel be our super utility and Vierling start most games in RF assuming we do get Bregman
